Last day and situation in Johor

Today is the last day of campaigning.

Tomorrow we all go to vote.

Well, we have been waiting for this for five years.

I'm still in my hotel room. Will go out after posting this.

I have been spending more than two weeks here in Johor.

Have to thank my boss for letting me be here.

He knows I care so much for my home state Johor and wanted to be here at this critical period.

I did my best for BN in Johor five years ago during GE13 but this time I choose to be more of a neutral observer (even though some of you don't believe me when I said that).

Lots of things happened over the past five years, some of which by right should have pushed me over to the Pakatan side.

That's mostly involving BN people that I know who behaved like assholes towards me.

Many of my friends who used to be more pro-BN than me are now staunch Pakatan supporters because of that.

Yes, assholes in BN, why Najib keeps them is beyond me. In the media, for example.

But I decided to be on the middle ground instead because I know the other side is not so good either and has its own assholes.

Anyway, even if Pakatan wins this election and forms the government, we will still need people who could make a fair assessment from the middle ground.

I intend to be one of those.

Hopefully I could.

If BN wins, I still wish the same.

This is important I think. Just look at the state of mainstream media, if you don't believe me.

Well, see lah how.

For this last day of campaigning period, I just want to share what I got from my sources regarding the possible outcome of GE14 in Johor.

All are pointing at Pakatan getting between 12 and 15 of the 26 parliamentary seats in Johor.

BN was said to be able to retain the state government by a slim majority in the state assembly.

It was also said, if Pakatan could push their win to 16 parliamentary seats, then it would get to take over the state government.

Parliamentary seats in Johor said to be going the Pakatan way;

Almost certain;
Bakri
Batu Pahat
Kluang
Kulai
Iskandar Puteri
Pagoh
Segamat
Labis
Tebrau

50:50 ;
Muar
Ledang
Ayer Hitam
Pasir Gudang
Pulai
Simpang Renggam

Well, just wait and see.

  6. Been reading your blog ever since the end of GE13. It's been enjoyable. I hope you continue to write for another 5 years no matter what happens tomorrow.

  7. Last chance for reform. If PH don’t win to be the government of Malaysia this round there will be no reform of the SPR and all the pillars of government from legislative to judiciary. There will be no chance for local council voting and election of mayors. Please let PH win for a better democracy.

  8. Well,I am a Johorean too.Even though I don't live in Johor I still keep in touch with my relatives and friends in Muar.
I believe Annie is being too pessimistic about Johor BN particularly UMNO.
I believe BN will win comfortably in Johor and probably will regain some of its seat that it lost in GE13.Seat like Batu Pahat.
We have to wait and see tomorrow.

    2. Annie came out with her prediction after spending times and days on the ground there. And you Prof, you’re not only no longer live in Johor, you’re not even spending your time there for a very long time. But still, you believe your prediction is right.

And you call Annie’s prediction pessimistic. You make your finding from the comfort of your air conditioned office while Annie going to the ground herself for the past several days under hot blazing sun of Johor, meeting the people there. And you have the gal calling Annie pessimistic?

Are you familiar with groundwork prof as part of doing a research? How on earth you get your professorship..sigh...

Jangan marah eh Prof Kangkung...when people asked for your credentials it means the onus is on you to provide the detail evidence, not beat around the bush just like M01 on 1MDB and SRC monies that found its way into you know the rest....

my real discontent is about d apex leaders at federal level. they need to be changed. so I’ll vote them out for change.

  19. BEST QUOTE FROM RAJA PELACUR KANGKANG (RPK):

"Anyway, over the last few days I have been receiving so many messages from so many people asking me my prediction for GE14 and it is getting to be quite a task to reply to hundreds of messages when I have so much other work to do.

So, for the sake of all those people who are waiting for my prediction, let me tell you that the opposition pact is going to be reduced to less than 80 seats.

Now leave me alone to do my work."

Your work is over, kawan : )

  20. Johor PH secretary Osman Sapian says they will submit three names as menteri besar candidates to the Johor Sultan later today.

"The presidential council will decide who the possible menteris besar are in their meeting this morning.

"I cannot decide who they are. Tan Sri Muhyiddin (Yassin) will seek an audience with Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar tomorrow and give name to the palace," he said during a press conference after winning the state government.

PH won 36 state seats out of 56 in Johor, enough to form the state government.

    So...

....no Tok Moy lah : )
