Better things to do than reading nonsense

I think there was something wrong with blogspot yesterday.

My blogroll was wiped out, it seems.

I noticed that others on blogspot suffered the same thing.

Just redo the whole thing again just now.

I think my blogroll is quite balanced now.

Got the blogs of Dr Mahathir, Najib, Jebat, Rocky and Big Dog.

There are also the non-political ones like Kebun Bahagia Bersama, which I like so much.

I don't really read the other blogs nowadays.

No time to do so, actually.

I got a job and always busy.

Not very interested too, if I may add.

Ya la, they write mostly the same things anyway.

Especially the political blogs.

Whacking people all the time.

So full of hate.

Depressing to read them all, isn't it?

Very few which write common sense for the good of the people.

I actually rather watch nice documentaries or old Chinese and Japanese movies on Youtube than to read them.

Today, I got nothing that really matter to write.

So, instead of bitching about this and that over nothing, I'm putting here an inspiring video on autism,

I actually hope I can one day do something like the lady in the video.

Maybe I can get in touch with the Permata Kurnia people and see if they can help me.

I think they did a good job helping children with autism so far.

That's why I told everyone,

Okay, I'm going to be with my grandmother over the next few days.

She is not well.

Will be driving down to be there later after work.

I will try to write if I have the time.

See lah how.

You all, have a nice weekend ya.

Cheers.

More retrenchments?

A friend forwarded me this earlier this morning,

It's a wassap message being circulated among New Straits Times Press Bhd workers at its printing plants in Senai, Johor and Ajil, Terengganu.

It said they are closing them down and the workers there will be retrenched if they are unable to move to the company's other two printing plants in Shah Alam and Prai, Penang.

Of course most of them will be affected, especially those working on the floor of the plants.

As far as I know, if the message was true, this is the first time the company will retrench its workers.

I got some friends working at the NSTP Senai plant and I hope they will be alright.

Guess things are quite bad for the newspapers these days.

I hope, if this downsizing exercise at NSTP is true, it will be limited to what it is now being rumoured.

It's not going to be nice at all if it later on also involves the retrenchment of journalists.

Too many of that of late.

I got several journalist friends who recently lost their job that way.

Those are former online journalists though.

So, online journalism is not so secured either.

The media industry is simply not the best place to be in at the moment, I guess.

Hopefully things will improve soon.

Zahid's English

So, they said the English of DPM DS Zahid Hamidi is not good enough.

They whacked him that, following his recent speech at the UN, it seems.

Well, I'm no big fan of Zahid, but in this case, I wouldn't worry too much if I'm him.

He's not an Englishman, after all.

He is a Malay of Javanese heritage like my father, if I'm not mistaken. Cool.

Why then should he be too bothered about such a complaint?

See, I'm not English too.

And I think my English is not much better than Zahid's.

You can read about people complaining about my English in this previous post of mine,

Good day and bad English

And as you can see, I just keep on writing in mostly English...if I may describe it as such lah.

For me, all that matter is for the audience to understand and appreciate the message I'm trying to convey.

Do people read my blog despite the said bad English?

Do they got the message I'm trying to convey?

I think the answers are YES....to a certain extent of course.

That's good enough for me.

Did the delegates at the UN understood and paid attention to what Zahid said?

I believe they did, despite his less than perfect pronunciation of some of the English words.

Hey, I even think that Zahid's grammar is even better than mine.

At least his English is not the Chinese sing song style of mine.

So, I don't think that's too much of a problem.

Nothing for us Malaysians to be embarrassed  about, okay.

Anyway, I don't understand why some people are so particular about getting our English perfect.

Especially so when they don't seem to be too concerned about perfecting their Bahasa Malaysia.

For the record, I don't care for either.

I just want people to sometimes listen and understand me, instead of praising my English.

I do however suspect that all those complaints were because those who made the noises think that form is more important than substance.

They prefer bullshit in perfect English rather than good argument in a "lesser" language.

And there's the ego thing too.

Some people are only good with their English. So when they lost an argument, they started to bitch about the superiority of their English over the other man.

Well, that's all they have, after all.

I encountered these sorts of people many times in my life.

"Oh, my English is so perfect, worship me," they seemed to say.

Eh, F@#* off la.

Next time Zahid talk at the UN, I suggest him to try this kind of English,

True Londoner, eh.

Zahid can mix it with his Javanese accent for all I care.

Cheers

Please don't mock sufferers of schizophrenia

When I was informed on Sunday that I was being whacked by someone, I made it a point not to find out who exactly was the one doing so.

It's because if I ends up reading the bad things written about me, then I believe I would be tempted to retaliate.

Honestly, I don't want that because for me such a quarrel is stupid.

Then came this comment,

Just when I thought the Fat Soh can sink no lower (given her hefty avoirdupois), I see she has stooped unbelievably lower to using the troubled life of the child actor (who acted as anakin) in her vendetta against Annie.

To gloat and chortle over that poor guy's schizophrenia just to use his moniker Ani to hantam our Annie....ugh, that Fat monster is seriously nasty.

What miserable, unlovable, vile creature. Sickening. Doesn't she realise how disliked and loathsome she is?

She should look into the mirror (at the risk of it shattering in fright) and ask herself if her actions make her any nicer or attractive.

Instead of posting old photos of her stroking her striped pussy.

Ewwwwww!!!

That comment made me curious.

Is the whacking of me that bad, or did the commentator merely exaggerating?

When I checked, it turned out that the commentator was not exaggerating.

The blogger who attacked me did use the suffering of actor

Jake Lloyd

who is afflicted with schizophrenia to whack me.

I think that's really bad....and sad,

Why does it has to be that way?

Why can't the person who whacked me just goes straight to the point by saying "Annie is a mad smelly bitchy whore" or something like that?

Why the need to do so by mocking someone who is suffering from such a terrible ailment like that?

Schizophrenia is a very acute form of mental disability.

Not only the person afflicted with it suffers, his/her family and loved ones suffer too.

In the name of Allah, I personally know such a suffering and I wouldn't wish anyone to experience it...not even that person who whacked me.

Maybe I will write more about it one of these days.

I hope you all dear readers will try to learn more about schizophrenia.

If you do so, I'm quite sure you all will be sympathetic towards its sufferers and their loved ones.

Whatever it is, let us try to be mindful about what we write, especially when commenting about others....even if we dislike or even hate the other person.

At the very least, we should try not to drag innocent people who got nothing to do with our fight and use them as our instruments to vent our unreasonable hatred towards our (perceived) enemies.

Let us not lose our humanity, okay.

About kena whacked and mamachari

Woke up quite early today.

Did the necessary and now just relaxing.

Sunday morning always make me extra lazy.

I have not went out of the house since yesterday.

My body is still a bit weak from my recent ailment.

So, I'm resting as much as I can.

Meanwhile, there's this Wassap message from a friend which I received earlier saying someone was whacking me upside down again.

That one probably because my blogging captain Rocky highlighted my last post about Permata.

I noticed that I got whacked extra hard whenever Rocky did that. Probably because it lends quite a lot of credibility to what I wrote.

I didn't even bother to ask my friend who was the one whacking me. Must be one of those mercenary bloggers being worried that I may get some sorts of funding for supporting Permata and in the process take away their portion.

Actually, there should not be any worry about that.

My whacker can check with Rocky and he will confirm it that I'm not being paid to write that post about Permata.

Hey, unlike those mercenary bloggers, I got a job, okay.

I just like the Permata programme, especially the initiatives to help children with autism and their family.

Actually, I support any effort by people who want to help children and adults with autism. It doesn't matter who they are, I will support them.

Well, if I got whacked because of that, then it's worth it.

Whack la all they want, I'm fine with it.

In the case of my last post, I just don't want Permata to be closed down and those children have to suffer for it.

Well, like that also kena whacked....what to do, some people are just like that la. Too much hate, I guess.

Anyway, I actually do have a plan for today.

Later I'm going to a bicycle shop to get myself a “mamachari”

My boss had been advising me to start cycling to improve my health.

So, I better do it.

I don't like all those complicated sports bicycles.

A mamachari should do for me to go around the neighbourhood.

It should be a good enough exercise for me.

Here is a video about mamachari,

Nice, right.

Okay, I'm going to the kitchen now to fix myself some breakfast.

You all have a good Sunday.

Ciao.

Friday 23 September 2016

Please don't whack Permata

I admitted in this post that I once asked for money from PM DS Najib Razak,

excerpts :

It happened shortly before I left Pahang for Johor after the general election in 2008.

I was desperately trying to raise fund for a centre for special needs children in Kuantan.

Those who really know me would know why getting the fund was very important to me.

I was running out of options when I decided to approach my friend.

He was very understanding when I told him about it and when I showed him all the documentation for the fund request, he promised to show it to Najib for consideration as soon as possible.

He understood why I had to settle the matter before I leave Pahang.

My friend came back to see me a week later.

Najib had approved an allocation for the fund from a special budget in his capacity as deputy prime minister.

I brought up this story again because I read this article just now,

Permata’s work with autistic children worth the money

It quoted Permata Kurnia director Associate Professor Dr Hasnah Toran.

excerpts :

“PK (Permata Kurnia) had done six live-stream public forums for those living outside of the Klang Valley and we have also launched a massive open online course on autism called iKurnia.
“Last year we went to 11 states and Insyallah (God’s willing), this year we will conduct a training module for teachers of autistic children in the Klang Valley.
“It’s easy for some to belittle us via their keyboards but remember, every time you make fun of Permata, you are also belittling the efforts of our staffs who have been working for the future of Malaysian children.
“We at Permata are very grateful that DSRM (Rosmah) is very concerned over gifted children and the need for people to not only be aware of these children but to also aid them,” she wrote.
I'm quite familiar with the works of Dr Hasnah and know a bit about her life.

She is not a political person and works mostly for the betterment of special needs children, especially those with autism and their families

Because of my experience as I told in the above previous posting, I believe I can understand her sentiment when she defended Permata and its founder, Najib's wife DS Rosmah Mansor.

I think we need to be fair.

Whacking Permata which is meant to assist children, including those with special needs is not fair.

I believe that those who are going after Najib, should not make Permata their target.

It's being mean to do that, okay.

To read in full what Dr Hasnah wrote about Permata, please click on this Facebook link ;

About wasted effort, Mcoba boys and a bit of Guan Eng

In my last post

I wrote -

I also didn't get excited when Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad met the Yang DiPertuan Agong to submit the Citizens Declaration demanding the resignation of PM DS Najib Razak.

What can the Agong do anyway?

And this is the latest on it -

Agong Doesn't Interfere In Issues Raised By PPBM - Najib

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah had explained to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad that he could not interfere in the efforts made by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM).

The Prime Minister said he had been informed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong about the audience granted by the King to Tun Dr Mahathir, who is also PPBM chairman, at Istana Anak Bukit, Alor Setar, last week.

"At the meeting, the King had taken note of the issues raised by Tun Dr Mahathir. However, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong also explained to Tun Dr Mahathir that he could not interfere in the efforts made by PPBM," he said in a statement today.

Najib said that this was because the declaration made by PPBM did not comply with the constitution and any action should be taken according to the normal practice which was through the Parliament and the election system for the people to make a decision.

-- BERNAMA

Well, I have been advocating for everyone to calm down and wait for the general election from the start of the whole thing.

If you want to see Najib ousted so much, just vote BN out at the polls.

That should be the only way.

No need to waste so much time and energy on the other things.

People actually need the time and energy to work and make their lives better.

You all know lah these days, everyone complaining about how hard life is.

If that's really the case, then I think everyone should work harder instead of being pre-occupied with things that they can't do nothing about.

Ya, everyone should just do things better instead of merely bitching.

If you are a student, study harder and get good grades so that your PTPTN loan can be converted to scholarship.

That's better than just whining about the perceived hardship and following around creepy people like Hishamuddin Rais at anti-government rallies.

Honestly, if I'm the Agong, I would throw away the Citizens Declaration just because there's the creep's signature on it.

"Sorry, Che Det. I actually can kick out Najib but I'm not going to do that just because you gang up with such a creepy guy," I would have told Dr Mahathir.

Hey, just look at the guy, okay. He's plain creepy and I think all young and old handsome men should stay away from this Mcoba boy.

Meanwhile, on another matter, the

AG gets leave for contempt proceedings against Guan Eng

I think they are really going to get him this time.

Or at least they can make him shut up for a while.

I know from a friend in his camp that those close with Guan Eng were worried about him.

So, all that were not just for show.

Guan Eng can actually ends up in jail again.

On yet another matter, last night I got a message from a friend asking me who is the MB meant by RPK in this story of his,

Menteri Besar blackmailed by Mahathir

Of course I know who is the MB meant by RPK.

It's an old story, actually.

But I told my friend not to bother himself with such stories.

I'm not a big fan of that MB, but to float such an accusation against him, in my opinion was not fair.

And RPK did another posting about him just now as I'm writing this,

The faggot Menteri Besar under Mahathir’s thumb

Guess someone really wants that MB to be thrown out.

Well, this is all very sordid.

How I wish that Malaysian politics is more matured.

Oh by the way, if I'm not mistaken RPK is also a Mcoba boy while the said MB is not.

Write to make Malaysia better

Things are really slow on the political front of late.

No real hot issues.

Most of the highlights are repeats.

Even the recent start of membership registration drive by new Pribumi party was a tame affair.

I also didn't get excited when Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad met the Yang DiPertuan Agong to submit the Citizen Declaration demanding the resignation of PM DS Najib Razak.

What can the Agong do anyway?

Honestly, things are politically boring at the moment.

Just consider this, the latest hot new issue is about that "insult" that Jeff Ooi tweeted about the passing of Pas spiritual leader Datuk Haron Din.

I think that's quite pathetic.

Can't they argue about other more intelligent stuff....or at least funny things?

Such a waste of time, if you ask me.

I rather read about how to improve our everyday life.

As you all know, people are complaining about the supposedly tougher life now.

Raising costs of living, they said.

Maybe the clever bloggers and other online scribes can write on how the people can earn more so that they can improve their lives.

Let's say you are a popular blogger, maybe you can write about how the public can apply for government's assistance to set up a small business to supplement their income.

I think the readers will appreciate that more than if a blogger continues to whine about the same boring political stuff over and over again.

Writing helpful stuff is definitely better than whacking other people and trying to make Malaysians hate each other.

Really, there are even those who try to encourage the Malays to unite, become racists and religious extremists and throw the Chinese into the sea.

All that just to get higher place in the Alexa ranking?

Why can't these people be more positive?

Write la about how to make Malaysia better.

If not so clever like me, try to write more down to earth but helpful things.

That's what I do whenever there's nothing hot to write about.

Like giving good tips such as this,

It's simple, but I believe there are ladies who would appreciate such tips.

You all would not believe it if I tell you that there are so many women who tend to forget about the importance of simple stuff which I highlighted in that post.

See, Malaysia will be a better country if its women are nice, less bitchy, reasonably intelligent and smell good as I proposed in that post.

Hey, don't you think that's better than trying to encourage a more racially polarised Malaysia?

But of course this is still a free country, and people have the right to express themselves.

So, I don't expect those people to stop trying to get the Malays on one side and the non-Malays on the other.

But I think you all dear readers would be wiser and not let yourself be influenced by those bad people.

Do try to instead spend your valuable time reading about things which help make your life better or at least entertain you a bit.

Okay, that's all for this fine Sunday morning.

I need to get to the kitchen now and cook something for lunch.

Here's something educational and entertaining on the weight-loss industry in Japan to round up this posting,

See, that's beneficial, isn't it?

It's good to learn how to lose weight a bit, okay.

Cheers.

Things are not so bad

My mother and most of her side of the family are in Singapore now celebrating the Mid-Autumn festival.

I'm supposed to be there too but can't make it because of my ailment.

I'm still wearing this koyok my mother bought me when she was in Japan last year.

It's quite good. Very warm for the aching parts of my body.

Anyway, I need to save my energy for work.

Well, it's a bit silly to celebrate mid-autumn when we have no such season here, but what the heck, it's fun to be with the family, have big makan, play mahjong etc.

My mother's side of the family celebrate almost everything they feel worth celebrating.

My father on the other hand is the opposite of all that.

He hardly celebrates anything.

Not even his birthday.

He doesn't even seems too enthusiastic to celebrate Raya.

That's just the way he is, being brought up in a quite poor family.

Celebrations are luxuries and he's simply not used to them.

Anyway, I think I prefer the way of my mother's family.

Much happier.

It's good that we can still celebrate things like the mid-autumn festival.

It reminds us that things are not so bad and there are still reasons to count our blessings.

Better than those in other places where people have no luxury to celebrate anything.

War, famine, natural disasters, etc....well, at least we don't have those nasty things here.

To learn more about mid-autumn festival, you can watch this video,

Okay, I need to get ready now for an important dinner tonight.

Have a good weekend guys.

Too much painkiller

It's quiet and peaceful where I am now.

Still resting.

I can hear birds chirping outside the window.

Half of my body is still aching.

Wish I don't have to ever get up.

But I have to go to work tomorrow.

Need to earn a living.

It's the bottom line for me.

As I previously wrote, all the nonsense that are happening actually don't really matter to me.

What really matter to me are survival and living a good decent life.

Why should I care about some self-serving politicians trying to tell everyone how to think and behave.

Fuck off to them, okay.

I'm not going to listen to them.

As if they really care about my well being.

End of the day, I will vote for those I think can make my life better and improve things for the future.

Plain and simple.

Those selling all the rhetoric can shove those up their ass.

I'm not buying them.

Bloggers, myself included, who are they? Are they any better than you all that they are qualified to tell you how to think?

I don't think so.

I'm writing just to express myself and putting my thoughts on record.

That's all.

It doesn't really matter to me whether you agree or disagree with me.

I'm not trying to teach you all how to think.

Again, let me reiterate - mine is just an insignificant anonymous blog.

I'm definitely not taking part in a popularity contest.

I don't need to show the world or a paymaster that my blog is high up in the stupid Alexa ranking.

I don't need to do that because I don't have that kind of ego or the need for lots of money.

I'm also definitely not an ustazah to teach you all about Islam and Muslims

I'm not a penyelamat ummah.

My knowledge of my religion is not much - Darjah Lima Sekolah Agama Johor.

Definitely not the credential of a penyelamat ummah.

Actually, I rather be a penyelamat nyawa, like those good doctors now hounded for allegedly not paying their taxes properly.

But I'm not qualified to be like them too.

Well, I'm not even a highly moral person to teach you right and wrong.

I'm not even trying, okay.

Most of the time I was just presenting the facts as I know and understand them.

That's all.

It's for you all to decide how to form your own opinion.

Okay, I think I'm rambling again. Can go on like this the whole day.

Maybe it's  the medication.

I better stop here before you all think I'm going crazy.

You all better enjoy this song instead,

Yup, I think I'm just stoned at the moment.

Too much painkiller :)

Cheers

In defense of good doctors (updated)

(note : Updates at the bottom)

In my last posting,

there were comments condemning the doctors such as this,

....They save lives, okay....

yes many of them save lives but with condition...and the condition is give me a lot of money or go and die because i am a DOCTOR

For all that, I would like to reproduce this post which I did almost a year ago so that you all may not think too harshly of our doctors,

Please give the good doctor what he wants

(Note : Please click on the link above if you wish to read it along with the comments. There is also a video of the doctor performing a surgery at the link. If you watch and listen carefully to the video, you will realise that the good doctor I highlighted is a Malay.)

Tuesday, 22 September 2015

I met a handsome doctor, who is a neurosurgeon the other day.

He has a practice at one of the private hospitals in Malacca.

The neurosurgeon used to work for many years at several government hospitals.

He left to set up his own practice because of reasons I'm not at liberty to disclose here.

He nonetheless told me that he loves working in a government hospital because he get to save more lives there.

Despite the lower income compared to having his own private practice, he enjoyed having more patients at the big hospitals.

"Many of those patients can't afford to go to private hospitals, so I think I can do more good in a government hospital," he said.

The guy said he had recently volunteered to perform surgeries at a government hospital.

The problem is that the hospital doesn't have proper

Craniotomy

equipment necessary for him to perform those surgeries.

The hospital had since applied to the Health Ministry for an allocation to purchase the equipment.

The guy appeared quite excited at the prospect of being able to help out at the hospital.

"They don't even have to pay me. Just get the equipment and I will do my best in the OT (operation theater)," he said.

I hope one of the big shots at the Health Ministry will read this and help out to get the budget for the hospital to get the equipment needed by the neurosurgeon.

Please check which hospital in Malacca had recently applied for the equipment.

I don't want to give too many details here as i don't want the neurosurgeon to get in trouble for telling me all these.

Just imagine how many lives could be saved if the guy can help out at the hospital.

All those poor patients can get faster treatment.

The neurosurgeon told me the needed equipment could costs less than RM100,000.

I don't think that's too expensive considering the benefits which could be derived from it.

To the Health Ministry people who read this and willing to help, thank you very much.

Hopefully, the hospital can have the equipment as soon as possible.

The neurosurgeon performing a surgery. The guy is very good with his work.

I believe the good doctor I highlighted in that post was also caught in the tax issue.

I hope the whole thing will not discourage him from trying to help the less well-off patients at the government hospitals.

Well, saving lives is not easy after all.

There are people who don't even want to appreciate it.

By the way, I'm still down with my ailment and writing this in bed.

Feeling a bit down, actually.

Hopefully I'll be okay again in the next few days.

You all take care ya.

UPDATES

I forwarded a question by Gladiator, who is a regular commentator of this blog about what happened to the craniotomy equipment requested for the use of the neurosurgeon and this is the wassap reply from the good doctor,

Sunday 11 September 2016

Squeezed doctors

I went to hospital today for treatment.

Old ailment working up again.

Bumped into a schoolfriend who is a surgeon there.

We had lunch and talked quite a bit about what is happening ever since we last met about a year ago.

She was apparently worried over the latest directive by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) on tax treatment for doctors at private hospitals like her,

She said the directive, issued earlier this week requires tax treatment for doctors like her be based on personal basis instead of Sdn Bhd as had been the practice all these while.

Like most other doctors at private hospitals, my friend had set up a Sdn Bhd company and received her service fees from the hospital through it.

She technically provides her services via her own company while "renting" facilities at the hospital.

"What I understand is that the tax I paid via my company over the past three years since I'm at this hospital will not be counted. I have to pay a new sum on personal basis and on top of that I have to pay penalties," my friend said.

"I had done the calculations and it looks like I have to pay about RM1.3 million for the whole sum.  I'm not really sure where I'm going to get that much money, as the deadline is on December 15.

"My lawyer said I can't fight this one as I will surely lose and they will punish me further later on," she added.

She said she had always paid her taxes on time and as according to the normal practice.

"If the method of my payment was wrong, why did they only tell me about it now. I have no intention of cheating the government. It's just that I followed the practice which have been in place all these while."

My friend said the Malaysian Medical Association had told the over 3,000 affected doctors nationwide not to fight the IRB directive.

"Even our association had abandoned us. They even told us not to make noise about this," she lamented.

"Talks among my fellow doctors is that they will go after those who run private clinics after this," she added.

My friend, who is an Umno member also told me that the government's standing among the affected doctors is not very good at the moment for obvious reason.

Hopefully the IRB can come up with some sorts of mechanism so that the doctors will not be too burdened by the whole thing.

I don't think it's wise to be harsh towards those doctors at this moment in time.

They save lives, okay.

We should at least appreciate them for that.

It's also not such a good thought to have 3,000 doctors joining the rank of people who hate the government.

Especially now.

Anyway, I'm writing this while laying down on my bed.

The doctor who treated me today told me to rest my body as much as I can to avoid aggravating my old ailment.

Johor's choice to either swim or sink

A friend called earlier today to ask my opinion about the situation in Johor before these were posted in the comment section of this blog,

BREAKING NEWS FROM JOHOR.........

"Gelang Patah Umno permanent chairperson has announced his resignation from the Malay party during his speech at the division's delegate meeting earlier today.

"I declare that I am no longer an Umno member during my speech as permanent chairperson at the Gelang Patah Umno Delegate Meeting," Baharom Abdul Ghani posted on his Facebook page.

Baharom was a founding member of Gelang Patah Umno division which he founded in 1994 and was an assemblyperson from 1995 to 2004."

Replies
Anonymous10 September 2016 at 18:30
Kulai Umno deputy chief Tosrin Jarvanti has also exited.
- anon truly

My friend, who already knew about those developments had wanted to know whether the resignation of Baharom and Tosrin from Umno will affect the party in Johor.

My answer was - NOT MUCH

As far as I know, Baharom and Tosrin are not influential figures in the state. In fact, I don't think that they were even influential in their own divisions.

It should be noted that their divisions of Gelang Patah and Kulai are among the most problematic in Johor. Both are now DAP's territories.

Their dissatisfactions were most likely more due to infightings between factions in those divisions rather than bigger things such as the idea of saving the country by toppling PM DS Najib Razak.

I know Baharom in person, having first met him in 2002 when he was still an assemblyman of Nusajaya.

The guy, who is actually a Malaccan, is a colourful character even back then.

In an incident which was quite widely reported at that time, he dramatically tried to stop a bulldozer which was about to demolish houses during a protest against a land acquisition exercise. It was a brave but rather foolish act as the developer had done all the right things to acquire the land.

Baharom was dragged to court over the matter and Johor BN, not wanting to take a risk, decided to drop him from the candidate list of the 2004 general election.

He more or less faded into the Johor political background after that.

Baharom should be in his late 60s or early 70s now.

Well, maybe he is enjoying himself again today being once more in the limelight for dramatically announcing his resignation from Umno at the divisional meeting.

It should also be noted that Gelang Patah Umno is now headed by Khairi Malek, the political secretary of MB DS Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

I was told just the other day that Khairi is now the "king maker" among Umno people in Johor. Surely he knows how to handle the Baharom problem.

Back to my friend's query about the situation in Johor, I told him that what could really affect Umno there is actually the level of work being done by the party machinery.

If Johor Umno continues to serve the people well like during the leadership of former MB TS Abdul Ghani Othman, then it should have nothing to worry about resignations such as that of Baharom and Tosrin.

Bear in mind that 83 percent of Malay Johoreans voted for Umno and BN in the last general election.

If not for that, Johor would had been swept away by the 2013 Chinese tsunami.

Whether Johor Umno remains strong or otherwise is up for Khaled and his people to decide.

Work sincerely for the people or continue being busy enriching themselves and forgot to even do basic things for election such as the kajian sikap pengundi with less than two years to go.

The choice is simple.

Either way, I actually don't really care. I'm not an Umno member nor am I subscribing to the concept of Bangsa Johor, which seems to be so important under Khaled's leadership.

I'm making these observations and comments purely as a neutral.

The need to be careful and popular

Someone cautioned me yesterday evening that I shouldn't write yet about Johor BN's preparations for the next general election.

He said I should check properly again on that one because if I got it wrong, it would be unfair to MB DS Mohamed Khaled Nordin and his team.

I think that's a sound advice. I will check some more.

I had wanted to write about the matter because I heard complaints about how slow things are going on the ground.

It was made worse because there's a rumour going around that the general election may be held as early as March next year.

"Kajian sikap pengundi pun tak buat lagi, macam mana nak buat pilihanraya bulan tiga tahun depan," said a Johor assemblyman when we met earlier this week.

That's bad, with less than two years to go before the deadline.

But, I have to agree that I better check properly again before writing about it.

Anyway, that someone who cautioned me about the whole thing also told me that I shouldn't be too cocky.

"Hey, you are not very popular, okay. Someone did a research on your blog and it's very much down the Alexa ranking," he said.

"Alexa who?" I asked back. Honestly, at first I didn't get what he was talking about.

Alexa Chung is a British fashion model, television presenter, and contributing editor at British Vogue. She's a bit Chinese...like me.

Then, he showed me the links and where he got it from.

I had a good laugh when I read it.

I was like, Whoa! A research to prove how unpopular I am.

That's awesome actually.

In all honesty to Allah, I have never checked where my blog is in the Alexa ranking.

It's just an insignificant anonymous blog, okay.

A platform for me to express myself and not for me to be popular.

And of course the likes of Papa Gomo are more popular bloggers in term of hits compared to me. I'm sure they are of the same level on the Alexa ranking chart and elsewhere as the person who did that research on my blog.

But never mind lah.

That was a bit of fun, anyway.

Eh, I have a very important meeting at 10am. I better go now.

Sorry, can't hang around and layan you all the whole day.

Unlike some lucky popular bloggers, I have to work like normal people, okay.

Cheers

Headache and a little teaser

Thought of doing a proper posting this morning but I woke up just now with a very bad headache.

I really shouldn't had done what I did last night.

So, this is a short and an inconsequential one.

If you all want to read "heavy" stuff, I suggest you read the comments at my last post. There are over 100 of them. Some of you all were very rajin to write those things.

But okay la, it's quite a fair fight. All sides represented.

If those are not heavy enough, then I think you all should go and read a blog by a heavy weight blogger.

That blogger once said  I'm a light weight blogger, which is true by comparison, actually. I'm just a bit over 50 kg.

Sorry, can't say the name here :)

Okay, for now I just want you all to enjoy this music video.  It's to cheer up the mood for the day.

I watched this video many years ago when I was still very young. It was the very first time I saw Siti Nurhaliza and I remember telling myself that the girl was going to be a big hit.

Well, need to shake off this headache now, get up, and go to work.

I will try to write about what I really wanted to write later in the day if I have the time.

It's going to be about Johor BN's preparation for the next general election....or rather the lack of it.

Next, Dr Mahathir may teach Pas how to make peace like himself

Finished unpacking and have a bit of time before going to sleep.

It's past midnight but I better write this now because tomorrow is going to be a busy day.

The big story at the moment is that meeting between Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and DS Anwar Ibrahim in court.

Dr Mahathir said he was not making peace with Anwar but instead just there to support him for filing that injunction against the implementation of the National Security Council Act.

However, I don't buy it.

I still think that he is indeed making peace with Anwar, one way or another.

At least, as far as I am concerned, that's how this picture seems to indicate,

Otherwise, I don't think Anwar would hold Dr Mahathir's hand like that.

Anwar may be very good at putting up an act, but I don't think he was faking it this time.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who see it that way.

The NSC is just an excuse.

All that 18 years of intense animosity between the two guys seems to be over now.

All those allegations of Anwar being a sodomite and Dr Mahathir a cruel mahafiraun don't matter too, I guess.

They are allies once more and the common enemy is PM DS Najib Razak.

The fact that Dr Mahathir was willing to see Anwar in person again after almost two decades and in my eyes make peace with him, it is a clear sign that the fight against Najib will go on to its bitter end.

I also believe that the meeting with Anwar must had surely sealed Dr Mahathir's bond with the Pakatan Harapan coalition of PKR, DAP and Amanah.

If I'm an Umno or BN leader, I would be worried.

The biggest weapon Umno and BN have at the moment is the disunity of the opposition.

Dr Mahathir is clearly trying to repair the rifts between and within the opposition rank to prepare for the assault in the next general election.

Dr Mahathir had most likely told Anwar that he is not interested to take over the opposition and later on lead the country again.

He's only interested to get at Najib.

Anwar can have the power.

Maybe that's why Anwar was willing to make peace with the man whom he accused of jailing him for almost seven years using trumped up charges.

If Anwar is willing to accept Dr Mahathir, the rest will follow along.

They know it's the only way they would stand a chance to put up a united front against Umno and BN.

Next, I believe, Dr Mahathir will approach Pas.

Pas  is the key now.

If Dr Mahathir manages to persuade Pas to rejoin the opposition coalition, then BN will really be in danger in the next general election.

How Dr Mahathir is actually going to do it is beyond me.

I can only think of two possible ways,

1. Offer Pas to have straight fights with BN (particularly Umno) in states it can realistically wins. That's Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah. Dr Mahathir may even offer tiny Perlis to Pas for good measure. In return, Pas will have to let Pakatan Harapan and his new Pribumi party to have straight fights with BN and Umno in the other states. They may win in Penang, Perak, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan while hitting hard in Malacca, Johor and Pahang. BN and Umno may only count on Sabah and Sarawak to counter those.

2. There are quite a few stories about how Dr Mahathir actually own a huge war chest to be utilised in his fight against Najib. I always doubt this allegation about Dr Mahathir, but if it is indeed true,  then he should just use the money now. Let's imagine that Dr Mahathir tells the Pas leadership that he will give them RM1 billion in exchange for their cooperation in the fight against the Najib-led Umno and BN. I suspect that the Pas guys will be very tempted to take up such an offer. They are humans like us after all.

Again, let me remind you that if Dr Mahathir manages to persuade Pas to make peace with DAP, Amanah and PKR, the same way he made peace with Anwar, then BN and Umno may expect a life and death fight in the next general election.

KL and a beautiful old song

I'm going back to KL tomorrow.

Really don't feel like it.

But I have to.

Packing now.

No mood or time to write properly.

For now, I just want to share this song by my father's favourite Indonesian singer of all time, the late Lilis Suryani,

My father said his first true love looked like her.

Whatever.

Okay, I will write properly again after I'm in KL.

Take care

Please don't make 1MDB even more confusing

Sometimes my friends laughed at me when I told them I don't write much about the 1MDB issue because I don't really understand it.

They said I'm dense.

Well, I don't mind them calling me that. I can managed my ego. I just don't like to pretend to know something which I actually am ignorant about.

For instance, if I have never been on the political battleground of Johor or even live in the state, I would not try to pretend to be a political expert of Johor and advise Johor Umno to kick out half of its members just simply because they disagree with the party leadership over something.

Either you are with us or against us, remember?

Unless of course if I'm a DAP undercover operative working inside the Umno camp trying to create havoc within the party.

Anyway, the 1MDB issue is complex, so I prefer to let those who really know about it do the explaining.

I would try to listen and understand as much as I can.

As to why I still don't understand it, it's because there are so many conflicting explanations and reports

The other day an accountant friend who is a prominent blogger told me that the 1MDB money was not stolen but the very next day another accountant friend who is also an equally prominent blogger told me otherwise.

Both had insisted that they were right.

There are so many of these conflicting stories being told that I don't know which to believe.

Just look at these two reports by national news agency Bernama.

This is a report yesterday

KHALID-1MDB/BM (WITH PIX)
1MDB: RMP SEEKS MUTUAL LEGAL ASSISTANCE REQUEST TO US AUTHORITIES
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have sent a mutual legal assistance request to the United States' (US) authorities to record statements from witnesses in the country in connection with investigations into 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
He said the request was the beginning of the second phase of PDRM's investigation.
"We have sent a request to the (US) authorities to record statements from witnesses there and it will take a long time.
"As for the first phase of the 1MDB investigation, the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) has returned the investigation papers to us because there are things that need to be reviewed.
"The AGC had also directed a number of things to be done...so we will take action as directed before re-submitting the investigation papers to them," he told a press conference after an appreciation ceremony to thank officials who handled the 36th ASEANAPOL Conference, in Bukit Aman here today.

Asked on whether police would be conduction an investigation based on the report of the US Department of Justice (DoJ) regard misappropriation of 1MDB funds, Khalid said PDRM would not interfere in the matter.
"The action by the United States is civil lawsuits, PDRM will not intervene and do not try to associate us with politics.
"Our job is to safeguard the country's security and order and don't drag us to (make) political statements," he said.
The DoJ had recently filed civil lawsuits to seize assets said to have been acquired with money allegedly misappropriated from 1MDB, a government strategic investment fund.

And this is a report today,

KHALID-1MDB
1MDB: IGP DENIES SEEKING MUTUAL LEGAL ASSISTANCE WITH USA
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 (Bernama) -- Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar has denied that the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) is seeking Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) with the United States to interview witnesses overseas relating to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) investigation.
Khalid affirmed that several reports published by the media today was incorrect.
"This is false, and I did not say this...earlier today I was just explaining the process if an investigation were to be conducted outside Malaysia.
"Namely, in the event of us seeking to take witness statements overseas, PDRM would follow the required international protocols and seek MLA under the guidance of the Attorney General's Chambers," he said in the statement today.
Khalid said PDRM was satisfied with the progress made relating to 1MDB investigation and was hoping to conclude the investigation as soon as possible.

KHALID-1MDB 2 (LAST) KUALA LUMPUR
As the investigation was ongoing, all parties should refrain from any reporting that could be prejudicial, he said.
"Failure to do so will result in action from PDRM in accordance with the law," he said.
Khalid added that PDRM had completed the first phase of its investigation into 1MDB, which is based on the bi-partisan Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report.
He said the investigation papers had been passed to AG Chambers and discussed.
"The AG Chambers has returned the papers and requested further investigations, which PDRM will implement," he added.

See, it's all very confusing.

How can they make such a mistake?

That's why I said the 1MDB issue is very complicated.

Even the IGP and Bernama got it all mixed up.

I hope those responsible in clearing up the mess can get their acts together so that we, the ordinary rakyat would not get all muddled up by the issue.

A happy news once a while is good

Okay, this is good news,

Selangor Sultan marries RTM news reader Norashikin

It's nice to read happy stories such as this from time to time.

Not so gloomy all the time.

It was particularly nice because Sultan Sharafuddin, 70 has been single for quite a long time.

His previous two marriages ended in divorce.

His first marriage was to Raja Zarina Raja Zainal in 1968. They divorced in 1986.

His second marriage was to American-born Nur Lisa Idris Abdullah (Lisa Davis) in 1988. They divorced in 1997.

So, it's good that Sultan Sharafuddin found love again.

His new wife, Norashikin, 45 looks very pretty.

Single ladies in their 40s should cheer for her.

There's hope of finding love at that age, okay :)

I was told Norashikin has two children from a previous marriage.

As for Sultan Sharafuddin, he has three children from his previous marriages.

I think they make a very nice couple.

Well, it's good that they found each other and be happy.

Better than being alone and lonely.

I always like Sultan Sharafuddin based on the reports about him.

He carries himself well as a Ruler.

So, congratulations to him and his new wife.

May they always be happy together.

As for the people of Selangor, they will have a new Sultanah.

Congratulations to them too.

Waking up in September

I wrote this last night but didn't get to publish it because my date arrived before I could finished it. Just feel it's a waste if I throw it away.

I'm in my car now and writing this using my phone as I'm waiting for my date.

Simply to while away time.

I'm still in a relaxed mood today after yesterday's public holiday.

Not planning to write anything serious.

Well, nothing new worth being serious about today.

Rahman Dahalan not being very clever in his BBC interview is not something worth being serious about as far as I'm concerned.

All those 1MDB things are really tiring to follow, okay.

As if anything good can come out of it....

I think worrying over Zika is more worthy.

But then again, I am not planning to get pregnant, and therefore am not too worried over the disease.

So,  I don't think I'm the best person to write about that.

I noticed that the other blogs also seemed a bit fatigued.

Some even repeating themselves over the same things over and over again, trying to convince people they are relevant and the best.

One even tried to pick up a fight with me again, probably due to lack of exciting materials to write.

But I'm not interested.

I'm trying not to be a repetitive or bitter bitch, okay.

That's why I think I should rest a bit some more this evening.

Better than me rambling and getting into fights with crazy people or something like that.

So I'm taking it easy.

Okay, still nothing new that really matter to write about so far this morning.

Maybe later in the day.

For now, I think, since it's September, I want to sing this favourite song of a lovely boy,

Cheers and have a good day.
