Daim's perdition prediction

A friend working with Malay Mail forwarded this article on the GE14 prediction by former finance minister Tun Daim Zainuddin who several days ago started campaigning for Pakatan,

How Pakatan can win GE14,

 according to Daim

excerpts;

Daim said it is still uncertain to whom Putrajaya will fall, but it will only take a 10 per cent swing in votes.
There is no need for a so-called “Malay tsunami”, he said.
The veteran politician said PH will be able to retain Penang and Selangor, but could also take Perak and Kedah if the Opposition pact can fulfil certain conditions.
There is also a 50:50 chance of it winning Johor and Sabah, Daim said.
Actually, Daim's prediction was not so far off from the one I did here recently,

BN will win

except of course for the Sabah part.

Come on la, it can't be 50:50 over there....after all the good stuff done of late for the state by BN and so many key ministers appointed from Sabah.

Sabah is the main love of BN now....or maybe a close second to Sarawak.

And another thing about the Daim's prediction, I don't think it's 50:50 in Johor either.

Okay, there is going to be a tough fight but the way I see it the chances are more like 65:35 in BN's favour.

Well, this is Johor we are talking about, okay.

I have been hanging out a lot with an old friend here in JB over the past few days.

He has a lot of complaints about the current administration and listening to him may convince you that he has switched to Pakatan.

But actually he's not so.

"Memang lah aku dah menyampah dengan perangai ramai orang BN tapi rasanya masa nak memangkah tu nanti aku tak tegel (in Javanese : don't have the heart) nak pangkah pembangkang," he said.

I do understand his reluctance to switch to Pakatan as he is a voter at Iskandar Puteri (formerly known as Gelang Patah). There's no way he could make himself vote for Lim Kit Siang, the supremo of DAP

That's just the way it is for so many Malays in Johor, who grew up and become old with Umno.

Well, of course there are these

but those do not reflect the common sentiment among all Johorean Malays.

I still think that the majority of them simply couldn't make themselves have any other government except the one being led by Umno.

Yes, they may have a lot of complaints, but the decades with Umno would not be easy to erase.

By the way, I'm leaving for Yong Peng in a short while.

Going to meet an old friend who is a senior Malay DAP operative.

The guy, who is from KL has been camping in that area for the past week, most probably doing party works to convince the Malay folks there not to be too scared of DAP.

I think it would be interesting to know what he got to say.

This is a picture I took during my rounds at Felda Taib Andak, in Kulai yesterday. Very nice, right? I also went to the nearby Felda Bukit Batu and the scene looked almost the same.

Back to Daim's prediction, this is mine which I wrote for fun almost five years ago on a sleepless night of  Dec 16 2013,

I actually laugh when I read that again.

I wonder what's in Daim's mind about all these five years ago.

  1. Our elections’ system in electing the winner is first-past-the-post system. The parties/coalition which clinch simple majority with more than 111 seats should be declare the winner immediately. There shouldn’t be any delay. SPR needs to be totally professional in this because the official announcement will come from SPR.

We, the rakyat need total professionalism from SPR. We the rakyat want SPR to be truely independent. Rakyat’s choice must be respected. What rakyat want, rakyat get.

That’s the spirit of parliamentary democracy. That’s the real purpose of holding general elections. The rakyat WILL get the government they want. All parties including SPR have to respect this.

    1. It has been said, that no one knows the Malays better than UMNO.

The so-called protection via political dominance through UMNO has been the idealism of the Malays that had existed since 1969. But in the same time this so-called UMNO fencing is also a prison for the Malays.

The UMNO prison is a belenggu so strong that the Malays fear losing it may expose their necks so that their imaginary enemies would so easily chop their heads off.

So despite the corruptions and the hard living conditions due to the actions of their corrupt leaders, they would rather learn to live with it than to dare changing the belenggu.

In the process, they develop the Stockholm Syndrome.

How to break this deadly spell, a spell so powerful that even the words of their God need to be reinterpreted to sing praises to it?

The answer lies in a Japanese comics called The Kaiji Game.

In essence, you need to let these people suffer the sin of their leaders to an extent where there’s no more turning back.

Like the Chinese saying, one wouldn’t cry until one sees his own coffin.

So UMNO must be allowed to win. Najib must stay on. It’s not until 60 years of corrupt governing that a society could create a monster like that. This monster is the unholy son of these people, through many years of living in denial and greedy insatiable desire for free windfalls.

And this is undoubtedly the collective prayers of those going to their mosques for Friday prayer today.

      Amiin, ya rabbal alamin.

  9. The signs are clear.Assumning BN votes remain the same (or maybe a slight dip due to Muhyiddin and Mahathir factor) BN will still get a very comfortable win due to the split in opposition votes. It is a simple mathematics.I give one example.Sorry I have to write my example in Malay.
Ada 10 biji guli.Ali dan Abu berebut guli.Ali dapat 6.Abu dapat 4.Bermakna Ali menang.Kemudian datang Ah Chong merampas tiga biji guli dari Ali.siapakah yang memmpunyai guli paling banyak?
I believe Pas dan PH morons will not be able to understand this simple mathematics.

    1. Yes professor you are right. But you could also be wrong.

There is no need for complexity of analysis. We all want a new contract. The last contractor performed poorly that they made our lives miserable. The waves of change is already here and we see empty chairs at the previous contractor events pleading for support.

Samada mata awak dah rosak atau otak awak yang dab rosak.

We cannot continue to be fooled again by this incompetent contractor of the past.
