Even the bloggers seem to be slowing down a bit.
My last post is still among the latest 10 in Rocky's "blogs that rock" after more than 16 hours.
Of late, it would normally be in that position for only six or seven hours.
Everyone has been writing furiously ever since the Najib-Mahathir War broke out about three months ago.
But with Raya just a few days away, not many appear in the mood for fighting too much...at least that's what I noticed.
Of course the mercenaries will have to keep hammering away as they need their duit raya, but that's okay, we understand their position.
Everyone has to provide for their family and makes their loved ones happy.
One good thing so far about the Najib-Mahathir War is that I believe the blogs have become popular again.
Most people have over the past few years shifted to other social media platforms such as the faster Facebook and Twitter.
Blogs were almost obsolete.
But this time, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his supporters were relying heavily on their blogs to fight PM DS Najib Razak.
Their attacks were very effective as Najib's mainstream media clearly struggled to counter them.
It came to a point that the PM had to revive his own blog to counter them. Najib had all the while been relying more on Facebook and Twitter as his social media platforms.
I believe that the number of visits to the social political blogs had also soared the past few months as the combatants continued to hammer each other in cyberspace.
This humble blog of mine normally recorded an average of between 70,000 and 80,000 page views per month. Ever since the fight, these are its page views,
April - 112,585
May - 124,105
June - 118,961
And I'm not even actually in the fight except for just being an observer and occasionally defending Dr Mahathir from the most venomous attacks against him.
Come on la, the old man is already 90 years old, okay.
Honestly, I have given up hope that the fight will end anytime soon.
Both sides appear determined to fight till the bitter end.
And the longer they prolong it, the smaller will be the chance of BN winning the next general election.
Well, I'm trying not to think too much about it.
Just want to enjoy this lull in the fighting for now.
It's nice not to think about it for a while.
Better think about something else, like this ikan terubok which I cleaned this morning and will grill for buka puasa later.
|Going to wrap turmeric leaves around it before grilling. To be eaten with soy sauce with chili padi and cut onion.|
