Umno elections - my predictions

The following are my predictions of those who will win the top posts in Umno party elections next month -

President - Datuk Seri Najib Razak (uncontested)

Deputy president - Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (uncontested)

Vice-presidents -
1. Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein
2. Datuk Seri Shafie Afdal
3. Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi
(All three incumbents are to be returned unopposed. I'm expecting the challengers who had announced their candidacy, Tan Sri Isa Samad and Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam to pull out of the race before nomination closes on Sept 28. Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir who has been touted as a possible challenger is not going to contest for the post.)

Wanita Chief - Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil (uncontested - her challenger Datuk Seri Azalina Othman had pulled out of the race )

Youth Chief - Khairy Jamaluddin (uncontested - well, Umno youth people are not the bravest bunch of people, anyway)

So, that's all there are to it.

And to go with my predictions is this music video, enjoy :-)

  1. .. how depressing! Agaknya UMNO memang tak boleh berubah ke? Why are the leaders so selfish?

.. I suppose now it is up to the PR side then. If by GE14, they are still messed up (read: Anwar is still their choice PM and the Lim dynasty is still so powerful) then BN still has chance to rule the country for another term.

.. if by any chance PR put forward a good candidate as PM and all the unsavoury from DAP are gone, PR will most likely win GE14. Why? Becoz BN supporters decided to stay home during voting day..

  2. I think Hishamuddin and Zahid will retain their seats. But Shafie Apdal may be unseated.
Mohd Ali Rostam will be voted in.

  5. From your unchanged list above it can be said that there are no more capable MALAYS with leadership qualities in UMNO anymore. All the talented malays are with PAS and PKR because those old UMNO warlords are chopping down any young turks that will be a threat to their own positions. Only those with selfish intentions of cronyism, rent seeking and corruptable are left in UMNO because these are the people that can be easily controlled by the leadership. It's time malays look to PAS and PKR for credible leadership among their race.

    3. i like azalina...but she cannot represent as a muslim women leader...u knowlah her appearance sure ramai yg stdby kutuk dia. not to mention her scandals and close buddy to KJ whom ramai org umno tak suka.

  7. If we think Ah Jib Gor is pathetic as a PM,his cousin Hishamuddin is going to be worse. Enough of these 'anak bangsawan' getting positon in UMNO due to their father's deed though they are incompetent. The next PRU14 they are not getting my vote.
    Alfie.

  8. May We Be Able to Accept That Which We Cannot Change....

And Move Forward into the Future...

Change Will only Come in the Future and by Those given the Power to Vote in The General Elections.

  13. I'm confused. Is it an election when all candidates are unopposed (including 3 VPs going for 3 VP slots)? I'm glad of the new arrangements giving the grassroot members the power to put in the leaders they want, but to knock out contestants before the contest makes the whole election process look ridiculous. Have they been taking advice on how to look stupid in internal party polls from the DAP? If so, they are learning fast from the masters.
