    3. The government of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak spent years systematically obstructing probes into the alleged looting of state fund 1MDB, while also ruthlessly muzzling critics, according to current and former government officials.

      They said the meddling in the investigation by the MACC effectively shut down local inquiries into the scandal at 1MDB even as five other countries, including the United States, Switzerland and Singapore, carried out their own probes.

      nterviews by Reuters with a dozen current and former government officials show that the obstruction of investigators occurred on multiple levels.

      Najib’s office also sought to tightly control any public comment on 1MDB.

      MACC is supposed to be an independent government agency that works without government interference, but three former MACC communications officers told Reuters that many of the press releases on the 1MDB probe issued by MACC were written by the Prime Minister’s Office.

      Hehehe.....

    He didn't run away because he thought he wasn't going to lose.
    Make no mistakes that if the event went in his favour, all the Pakatan leaders would be in jail without trial.
    He will spend the rest of his life in jail.

    1. I wonder the Umno bloggers have selective memories?

      Anything done to save your own backside does not qualify as a "mistake", in any dictionary.

      Take your pick:

      a) The legal cases slapped against critical media and political opponents, while others enjoy immunity;

      b) The sacking of the former attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail to prevent someone being charged;

      c) The illegal transfer of MACC officials to the PM’s Department and then the re-transfer;

      d) The elevation of the PAC members to the cabinet, delaying PAC investigations;

      e) The purge of dissenting Umno members from the party ranks,

      f) The jailing of whistle-blowers by abusing security laws like s124 and SOSMA;

      g) The removal of Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin from his post;

      h) The banning of local publications (causing loss of livelihood to innocent journalists), yet not a shred of evidence that the facts published are false;

      i) The sabotage, arrests and intimidation of BNM, SB, MACC and AGC personnel to disrupt investigations;

      j) The numerous lies that have been floated to the public about the "donation" and 1MDB.

      All this was Najib's doing.

      Yet the dedak in people's eyes made them blind.

      PS:

      Innocent people do not act in this manner.

    I laughed because Najib seemed so invincible and I told my UMNO friend he was dreaming.

  18. To me Najib is someone who doesnt really care about money and wealth for himself. He doesnt even care about power. If he cares he would have been as impatient as Tun and Anwar. Najib is more like Pak Lah. Calm and patient and doing the best for the country is all they care about.And they do not step on other people to move up.I am not hardcore Najib or any political figures. But looking at their characters and track record I am pretty sure Najib did not steal.If he did, our economic situation would have been bad. How would u explain those positive figures verified by World Bank during Najib's tenor as PM? He is the only PM that had managed to keep the poverty level below 1%. He inherited RM200B debt from Tun's time and another RM100B from Paklah's.But he did not make noise and tell the country we are going bankraupt. He held his responsibility very well. The pullout of investors are indication that they have the highest confidence with Najib. His rapport with other leaders of the world is impressive to the extend that Arabs are donating. All these bugs Tun too much. He is a bitter and jealous old man indeed.

    //75% Melayu tolak dia la//

    Where is this 75% figure from?

    By my thinking, most of the seats which BN lost were previously BN strongholds because those seats contained small numbers of Malays who were heavily biased towards BN.

    And also, losing in Sabah did not help.

    If anything, my guess is that UMNO/BN lost because it lost the crucial 20-30% Malay vote in all those small seats!

    On top of that, UMNO/BN seemed to have lost in many Malay-majority seats as well.

    So, to me, I am curious where you got that 75% figure from.

While a fraction of their voters has run to PAS somethings must hv irked them. While PPBM althou was the smallest block but it has rallies enuf ppls n yields enuf power to rules without nidded to throw in a cents. Just an aspirations. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  31. Prof Nasi Lemak,

    //do some research la.. over 50days you still have no idea where the 75% came from//

    I read Malaysian politics probably more than I should have over the last 5 or 6 years and from many different sources, pro-Pakatan, pro-UMNO, foreign sites, university sites, high traffic sites, low traffic sites, etc etc.

    As far as I can tell from my readings, you are the only person who has said that 75% of Malays have rejected Pakatan at PRU14.

    The only references I have found about this 75% figure relate to writings BEFORE PRU14.

    But this is BEFORE PRU14, so I do not consider this to be valid because it simply does not match up with the demolition job done on UMNO/BN.

    If 75% of Malays had indeed voted against Pakatan in PRU14, UMNO would still be in power today.

    You can easily verify this yourself by looking at the stats published for each and every seat.

    Now, it may be possible that I may have missed an article somewhere in my readings.

    So, I ask you again - where did you get this 75% figure from?

    //I really loved the movie Gladiator.. kamu ni kasi rosak la nama hero nih!//

    Really?

    You get emotional over a movie?

    //now so many Ministers n deputy Ministers appointed, you better spend your time monitoring they do their work or not?//

    Thks for reminding me to monitor Pakatan politicians.

    It is the duty of EVERY Malaysian to monitor our politicians, and that includes you and me :)

    Did you monitor your UMNO politicians when they were in power? :)

    I suspect you didn't :)

    I think that was part of the problem in the previous UMNO/BN government - it's own supporters just blindly trusted what their politicians were doing.

    Before I end, pls do not forget to let me know where or how you got that 75% figure, ok? :)

    Gladiator
