NAJIB
The elderly statesman basically repeated his allegations against PM DS Najib Razak and I assumed he did so with the intention of laying them down as simple as possible to make it easy for ordinary folks to understand why he is now against his once protege.
Information Minister DS Salleh Said Keruak whom I guess now is the chief defender of the prime minister dutifully answered to Dr Mahathir's assertions in his own posting,
The fallacy of who made Najib the PM
Honestly, I didn't read Salleh's posting, even after I put the above link here.
Reading people whacking Dr Mahathir gives me heart-ache. So, nowadays I rather avoid reading such posts.
I assumed that Salleh was whacking the old man because I received the following from my old friend Wan Dal Cha which I'm publishing here in full because I believe it was actually meant for Salleh;
Salleh Said Keruak is widely seen as a political heretic for his attacks on Tun Mahathir.
He lacks a history of putting out arguments in high-visibility setting.
Dr Mahathir started young.
After the Merger-Separation episode when he clashed with Lee Kuan Yew in Parliament, he authored a defining book.
Salleh Said Keruak by comparison has never been seen as a thorough, articulate thinker.
By the time he made it as CM of Sabah under the rotation system, a notion had been conceived.
By the time he made it as CM of Sabah under the rotation system, a notion had been conceived.
That he was too eager to please Anwar Ibrahim when the PKR de facto leader was DPM.
Many years on, Salleh Said Keruak is throwing desperate, callous punches way below his intellectual weight.
This is not an indictment against Salleh Said Keruak though.

This is not an indictment against Salleh Said Keruak though.
He has demonstrated courage.
He has started writing and arguing rather inelegantly.
Umno has not nurtured too many thoughtful personalities.
This is the very culture that has foisted on the nation the likes of Jamal Sg Besar, Noh Omar, and Tengku Adnan.
They have made their names by being thuggish, sadly so.
Our advice to Salleh Said Keruak is to train his words and energy at compatible targets.
Our advice to Salleh Said Keruak is to train his words and energy at compatible targets.
He should keep going.
To start with this new opposition alliance is bent on installing Anwar Ibrahim as their prime ministerial candidate.
They have loudly and undemocratically argued that the moment they clinch power, they will junta-style break the prison and make Anwar Ibrahim prime minister.
That is a more menacing assault on democracy and justice than the ongoing political conversation we are having.

Dr Mahathir has asked some questions.
Answer them.
Don't vilify him and his legacy, Salleh Said Keruak.
Hahaha, the "new opposition alliance is bent on installing Anwar Ibrahim as their prime ministerial candidate" ...
ReplyDeleteBut a comment in the Opposition blog Free Malaysia Today with the heading "An immature democracy ruled by old men" says
Pakatan Harapan should rethink its decision to nominate Anwar Ibrahim as its sole candidate for Prime Minister.
They should emphasize the "old man" aspect. He'll be about 70 when out of jail.
But Tun Dr Mahathir can be PM even after 90 years old. Double standard? No. Anwar simply has no standard, made terribly worse by no youth.
Anwar has for many years been setting standards in proximating the rears of the youthful.
DeleteInteresting name Wan Dal Cha, Annie. If the edible kind, it's good with roti bom. You do have friends with all kinds of names. don't you. I know Kulop (previous post) is not included.
ReplyDeleteBut Keruak of Said Salleh Keruak is also not a common name. And his blog writing is not usual. Is he using his blog to disseminate information in defence of Najib. Sad if so. When he could use all the resources of the former Information Ministry - Dept of Information, Bernama, Finas, etc, etc.
So, loyalty more important than capability as far as Mr Cash Is King is concerned? How to get his image and that of the Government improve? And how to improve the political situation and improve the economy with foreign investments inflow and stabilizing the Ringgit?
Dear annie, you are not alone, we also don't read rubbish from Salleh Said Keruak. Half past six stuff!
ReplyDeleteIn his blog, Salleh Said Keruak talked about people in the US saying "'If I can hire, then I can fire'. Actually this is not true and is a fallacy. Dr Mahathir is not Najib's boss or employer who can just sack him as he pleases," he said.
ReplyDeleteAlamak, he could - and should - use the time and blog space to explain and explain 1MDB, RM2.6 billion, GST etc. How shallow can he be.
Maybe the problem for everybody in Najib's camp is that they cannot get the facts to use to explain. How to get facts? When up to now Najib only said, "I never use money for personal gain" and nothing more as far as the RM2.6 billion is concerned.
Najib has not even admitted directly and specifically that he did receive the money in his personal bank accounts. We only learnt from the now-abandoned Special Task Force that the humongous sum went into bank accounts under his name.
So, what Tun Dr Mahathir said of Najib on those are valid. The rakyat do want to know. If Najib cannot answer, he should resign. Or UMNO should replace him.
Grandma's Stories.
Delete121, you must have a lousy grandma. She should have told you to explain when you disagree. Your ma also no told you that arr?
DeleteVoters, not Dr M, made Najib PM.
DeleteI would like to differ from the above analysis. First of all, we should be reading his arguments based on the current situation. Looking at the man's background helps in a limited way of knowing his personality and his line of thinking. Cat Steven @ Yusuf Islam is a well known personality in the field of dakwah. Do we keep on digging his past when he was known as Cat Steven?
ReplyDeleteI have read Salleh Said Keruak's comments on Tun M's latest blog posting. I believe Salleh Said Keruak has some valid points in countering Tun's arguments.
Prof Kangkung
No wonder you are kangkung. So long the 1st para, the short 2nd para not say what valid points.
DeleteKangkung, are you from Longkang university? How is umno politician Keruak similar to songwriter Yusuf Islam? Is a professor the same as an ustaz? Are your beliefs equal to the facts?
DeleteYou are right, Prof.
DeleteYou are wrong, 0016.
DeleteHehe this 4 words comment. Kamon la, Mister, if you want people to believe what you say, explain lorr.
For every right there's a left, for every up there's a down side .... What's the middle ground?
Delete813, don't stay in the middle, you get hemmed in by both sides, the situation if often tight.
DeleteAnwar is not around, otherwise he'd prefer to be in the rear, he's sometimes called Rear Admiral, no offence to the Navy.
This said keduak is no match with Dr M. He makes himself act like a clown for his master. Unfortunately they don't realise that they have the talent of a clown rather than a leader. Good luck Malaysia!
ReplyDeleteKeruak got the Minister's post largely because he's loyal to Ajib and vocal against TDM.
DeleteBut, like hell, shouldn't he spend time getting the gomen information machinery geared to explaining Government policies and Ajib's doings, esplly those that Ajib been walloped for left right and centre?
More of explaining, Keruak, less of trying to whack anybody, least of all, TDM. He was doing politics even at University - before you were born, Keruak. Writing to the papers under the pseudonym Chedet. No blogs at that time, otherwise he'd have written miles and miles of thoughts, criticisms and suggestions for the good of the country and the people.
Now you concentrate on explaining, less of complaining, will ya?
To a good man Wan: truth is a rare commodity in a wildly ruled country ...
ReplyDeletehttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NVFbTOqBDj4
Najib is the wild one. Replace him like Tun said. UMNO/BN will go kapputz if not.
DeleteHe and Rahman Dahlan too, are like boys with a knife going to a gunfight. What they portray are just WILLINGNESS to die for Ah Jib Gor but lack the mental intelligence and the media WISDOM to defend Ah Jib Gor's tarnished image!!!!
ReplyDeletealfie
Agree with you Alfie 👍
DeleteAt least this Ministers have balls.
DeleteJika kita ingin tahu tentang Najib tentulah Rosmah, tetapi tidaklah wajar kita mengheret first lady dalam hal yang berkaitan dengan first man.
Salleh said keruak juga dikenali dan diangkat kerana dia anak said keruak.

Orang dah tua faham2 lah, Deria pun dah banyak hilang.
DeleteApahal cina cina ni???? Jangan nak rasis lah. Yang membodohkan melayu bukan orang cina lah sial. Tapi bangsa kamu sendiri yg membuat kamu jadi bodoh dan tolol. Apabila dah jadi bodoh jangan nak salahkan bangsa lain diatas kebodohan dan kedangkalan kamu. Apakah yg pemimpin kamu lakukan dalam membela nasib kaum kamu? Kenapakah bangsa kamu sendiri berpecah belah?
Delete819,
DeleteKamu bunyi mcm Cina.
DeleteKo tak tengok pemimpin Melayu berkeras dgn omputih Bretes kolonial hingga campakkan ke longkang konsep Malayan Union yg Bretes cadangkan sabelom Merdeka?
Org cina kerja kuat. Sekarang melayu cakap cina pergi balik tongsan, cina babi. Itu rasis lah. Sekarang kita merdeka sudah lama. Negara ini diurus oleh org melayu umno. Sampai sekarang melayu kena tinggal belakang. Sekarang pergi check siapa owner tanah kat bandar? Cina or melayu? Orng orang cina tak suka gaduh, org cina mau meniaga saja. Sekarang bukan cina balik tongsan tapi melayu pergi masuk hutan.
Delete1MDB refuted Tun's claim that it transferred funds to Najib's private accounts by pointing out MACC stating that the funds were from a private donor and not from 1MDB.
ReplyDeleteThey forgot to mention the "hidden hands" causing immediate transfers of MACC senior officers, early retirement etc that made the rakyat wonder the validity of the 1MDB statement.
These gomen officers lebih sudu dari kuah.
DeleteUmno has not nurtured too many thoughtful personalities. They don't nurture any. Just use the loyal ones. Keep them loyal on the Cash is King principle.
ReplyDeleteRosak. Banyak rosak.
Rocky asking, What happen to my beloved statesman?
ReplyDeleteHe should ask. Whats happening to our country?
You still read rocky? He's lost it
DeletePls comment at rocky la...apa la..kang ckp bodoh marah la plk
DeleteRocky oleady go riding with the wind la. No need to jaga blog sudah kenyang maa. Ppl frust cannot hantam at Bru come here and hantam la. Rocky is Annie's big bro what. But not his babe la.
DeleteI know a lot of people has great respect for TDM. This is the curse that make the to stop thinking. You don't need to be an economist, or political scientist or rocket scientist to see how ridiculous TDM can be.
ReplyDeleteYou can see how ridiculous TDM can be. In his blog post, he raised about Altantuya case. This is one of the most stupid statement by TDM. In his article, he opened by saying he worked hard to make Najib the PM. Well, Altantuya case broke out when Najib was still a DPM. Is he saying that he put Najib as PM despite knowing that Altantuya case was flashing all around, and today, he believe Najib has something to do with the case and for that he should be brought down? Why in the first place he worked hard to put Najib in office then? Why he had no problem with Altantuya case when trying to put Najib as PM and now he has problem with it?
This simply shows that this guy has no moral ground and make us to be suspicious of his utter motives. Is it truly for the people or his personal grudge to Najib because Najib refused to kow tow to his demands. If Altantuya case wasn't a problem to him in the past and suddenly became a problem, what make us to believe that the 1MDB is a problem now and will not be a problem anymore if Najib is removed? Is he really concern about the country well being or he is more interested in his own personal interest? If it is for the people, then why work hard to put someone whom you believe to have a murder case in hand as PM. Was it because at that time, you believe he can carry your own interest?
Also, do read Sorry, Nothing Personal
nothing is wrong with TDM....it is just you that is full of shit...do you eat shit?
DeleteWhen they can only bullshit, means they don't have any shit. Why don't you refute what is written then wasting the blog space with pointless comment.
DeleteHere is a "pointful" comment:
Delete1. "You don't need to be an economist, or political scientist or rocket scientist to see" that TDM has a basis for saying what he did.
2. You saying that he raised the Altantuya case is "one of the most stupid statement by TDM" makes you stupid. Because you did not provide arguments denying Najib has any links with that case.
3. Saying TDM put Najib as PM "despite knowing that Altantuya case was flashing all around" is not relevant because the case was still not resolved at the courts then.
4. TDM "has no moral ground" to raise the Altantuya case after the latest court decision on the two bodyguards and the statements by Sirul in Australia? You think Najib should just keep quiet having said he was not involved and did not know Altantuya? The public can just accept those? Like the public has to accept him saying "I haven never taken money for personal gain" and nothing else on the RM2..6 billion in his personal bank accounts?
5. "his personal grudge to Najib because Najib refused to kow tow to his demands"? And you not saying what they are?
6. "what make us to believe that the 1MDB is a problem now and will not be a problem anymore if Najib is removed?" Now this is among the most stupid things that can be said. Najib started 1MDB, remove Najib and if the problems continue, the people are to be blamed?
Ever thought of converting to grandmonkey?
DeleteOooooooo you trying to advertise your blog Nothing Personal, eh? Sorry, no take. I also no see comments in there.
DeleteWe like to comment in Annie's blog because she expresses views that are fair, responsible and reasonable.
Plus, of course, she is endearing albeit sometimes teasing and tantalizing.
Impressive words? Sure lorr. Some people try to impress with power, money, ikan bakar, Ambassador's highly undiplomatic words in Petaling Street and naval boats in Malaysia's EEZ waters. Me try to impress with thoughts only maaaaaa.
Mr grandmarquis,
DeleteIf you have received some payment from the you know who, please share a bit with me so I can help you defend Najib.
Regards,
Smallmarquis
Tun nye motif simple je..mcm msa Pak lah jga la..burukkn n tuduh mcm2 so org dia bole ganti..dh byk kli dia bt pn..org2 dap ni lgi hipokrit..dlu msa tun ngata dia mcm2..mkn rasuah la..ank2 dia kaya la..zalim la..bla tun hentam najib..tetiba lak sokon..mmg bangang le..
Delete3. "Saying TDM put Najib as PM "despite knowing that Altantuya case was flashing all around" is not relevant because the case was still not resolved at the courts then."
DeleteSo, putting someone as PM while he potentially has a murder case is OK. But it is not OK to keep someone as PM despite the court has long closed the Altantuya case and free him from any involvement. Is this your sound logic? Then I rest my case.
4. And then playing with perception. Well, no matter what you say, the public is going to believe according to what they want to believe. So you will change the PM because of the perception by opposition and also your beloved TDM? Then we will forever changing PM. What about the perception of the Anwar loyalist that TDM has created the sodomy conspiracy to put Anwar away because he is too scared of Anwar in exposing all his corruptions? Oppsss.. like you said the public can just accept those? Like the public has to accept him saying "I do not conspire to put him in jail". Common man. You got to do better than that.
5. Well there are many. But it is just public perception. But following your advise, the public can just accept that he does not have personal grudge against Najib?
6. History has proven what he did. What happen to all the allegations against Pak Lah and Khairy? In fact Khairy even became a minister right now. Those who do not learn from history will be bound to make the same mistake.
DeleteAgree with the majority of yr comments Sdr grandmarquis
but really can't rule on his moral ground or apparent lack of morals.
Our beloved YAB Tun Dr M does appear hypocritical in criticising UMNO-practices many of which he introduced
tapi baik sangka beliau pun Mudah lupa kut(?)

The truth is that UMNO will most likely lose the next GE is Najib stays as leader. I believe Najib also knew that. His immediate concern is how to get away from the current predicament unscathed.
ReplyDeleteSome people have suggested that he might want to "berundur" if offered a package that includes no prosecution guarantee to any case that might be found criminal in nature.
DeleteAm interested to hear others' views on this. Anyone?
Still no response. Wonder why. Could be people not keen to let him go without prosecution if evidence found against him for any criminal act?
DeleteHopefully there are responses later in the evening after my outstation drive.
Macamlah wajah sebenar TDM tu baik sangat.
DeleteKembali bersuara selepas fulus dah kurang. Hamsen pun dah lupus.
ReplyDeleteHi Annie,
ReplyDeleteAs Malaysia Chinese, what I can see from Salleh Keruak is he's an apple polisher and that is how, he can go so high up the political ladder. In Anwar days, he polish Anwar when he smell Anwar has got chance to grab power, and now he smell Najib has more power, thus he polish Najib and get promoted. This is facts of life, to get where you are going, you need to polish. He do bring some good point, but it is intellectually as said by your Dal Cha source, this guy is consider a lightweight. He don't have facts at hand, and he doesn't know what is Najib doing with the 2.6 Billion, and he don't know who the person donate this money...and base on as little as what Najib give him....he bark here and there bringing irrelevant arguments to cloud the issue. This is like saying, Najib saying at the darkside of the moon has an alien living there...and Salleh Keruak on cue will start arguing how it is possible, independence day prove it, aliens have round heads and Area51 is America research facility...on and on....we love his tall tales though and imagination...but still he don't have answer....who, why and where this 2.6 Billions come from....
ReplyDeleteDSP Salleh Keruak and Dato Dr Asyraf Wajdi are astute appointments vs more more passive UMNO Ministers while the PM and Islamic institutions are increasingly being attacked from all angles, and really not clear from who.
Both are active bloggers and the Dr active in welfare NGOs,
and so far both are making sense. Keep it up and hopefully more like both of you are in-sya-Allah appointed.
Agreed not too hard on Tun Dr M(!), adinda Ms Annie
and to focus on the issues, but also suggesting that DS Mohd Najib huhu cannot that easily be absolved.
