Badlisyah new Tabung Haji boss?

Received this message from a friend just now,

Sis, badlisyah will be confirmd as tabung haji ceo 2moro at TH board mtg in dubai. He will also be apptd as bank islam director..pending bnm approval ...thats ironic isn't it?

I 'm not sure how accurate this info is, but if true, then it's  really interesting.

The Badlisyah, my friend was referring to is Badlisyah Abdul Ghani, the former CEO of CIMB Islamic Banking.

He's the guy who got in trouble for trying to defend 1MDB back then.

I'm not sure whether it's a good decision to put him in Tabung Haji and Bank Islam, that is if the info is correct, but let's hope for the best.

This is after all Tabung Haji and Bank Islam which are to help Muslims with their amal ibadat.

Whatever it is, the Tabung Haji BOD and Bank Islam people must have considered it properly.

I hope Tabung Haji and Bank Islam will be doing well under Badlisyah and there will be no more controversies under his stewardship.

That's again if this info my friend gave me is true.

Since this is Ramadhan, let us all "berbaik sangka" and pray to Allah that whatever the outcome of this, it is going to be good and blessed.

Insya Allah.

  1. He did not defend 1MDB but revealed a lie made on 1MDB.

    1. Okay. You are probably right. I admit I'm not an expert on the 1MDB issue. Thanks Voicey for your comment 😊

    3. Sorry Anon, I just saw the link and I don;t think it's appropriate here. Voicey is my friend and I have no quarrel with him. Thanks for your effort, anyway.

    4. your "Voicey" is completely wrong, by the way, as the comments below points out. You have very inaccurate 'friends', then? but it's a free world, so enjoy.......

  2. He admitted he was wrong in the SWIFT Code issue. So how is that translated to 'revealed a lie made on 1MDB?'

  3. Annie, you were correct in saying he got into trouble defending 1Mdb by his totally erroneous comments on the Swift codes -- shocking considering, as a banker, he should know his job.

His "defence" -- initially pounced on and trumpeted loudly by Jibby's supporters -- was swiftly (pun intended) demolished by those who actually know the workings of banking.

But if your info is correct and he gets the job, all I can say is that under Jibby, this again proves that brains don't matter. Sucking up stupidly does.

And why is TH meeting in Dubai?

Annie, stop being so humble and meek in apologising to Voice when you were correct. No wonder Fat Sow bullies you.

  6. Annie,

"I hope Tabung Haji and Bank Islam will be doing well under Badlisyah and there will be no more controversies under his stewardship."

    Annie,

    A little background.

When the Bugis lanun got his 2.6 billion via Wells Fargo Bank NY en route to AmBank, this utter moron Badlisyah came up with a half-baked theory that the transfer as alleged never happened because the SWIFT code was wrong.

All the dedak eaters jumped on it (including your "blogging captain") and gleefully replicated it.

    But here's the problem....

    Badlisyah was wrong. 100% wrong.

The WSJ money trail was correct.

So this incompetent "banker", who does not even understand SWIFT codes is now in charge of billions at TH?

Guess where the billions will be going?

  7. Annie,

I am always envious when I see such appointments.

Some people don't seem to have any problems landing really good jobs.

I have always wondered if such appointments are done on the basis of merit or who-you-know.

    Don't get me wrong.

I have met people like Badlisyah and they are really really nice friendly people.

I guess that is all that is required to succeed professionally, isn't it?

Be a really really nice friendly person.

Maybe that is where I have been going wrong with my life - I am, actually, an ugly rude troll on the net and in real life :)

  8. Those people who knows Badlisyah well, interacted with him and worked with him would believe that he might just be the best candidate for the post. I personally believe. Those who've made negative comments might just be those who knows him from afar. Judging him solely based on his unfortunate episode on the swift code saga. His has done many things for the country and for the Islamic banking and finance industry, he pioneered things, international community appreciates him and analogically speaking it would be so unfair to wipe off his past 9 good deeds just because of one mistake that he has done out of sincerity. CSR communities loves him, he gives back to the society anytime anyday. He's a scarce talent and if given opportunity, I strongly believe he would bounce back like a rocket as to prove himself once again. Always look at the best in people, not the other way round. 3. Tuan Haji,

Most commenters here are either RBAs or pemakan dedak Mahathir (Mahathir himself invented this term as he has many pemakan dedak on his payroll). Protuns if they really respect or love him, should have advised him to balik ke pangkal jalan rather than fighting a losing battle. Mahathir is not going to win and he as well as his people know it but because of his huge ego, he doesn't want to give up. From a hero he turns into a zero.

    4. What Wall Street and credit card companies are doing is really not much different from what gangsters and loan sharks do who make predatory loans. While the bankers wear three-piece suits and don't break the knee caps of those who can't pay back, they still are destroying people's lives.

  14. Mr Badlisyah is an acquaintance long time ago when we were students in the UK. Last we met was at a Raya open house hosted by a former student leader, son of a seasoned ex-politician. Then he was the CEO of CIMB Islamic.

The SWIFT code issue, probably and unfortunately, came from his response to my question to him on FB. I had for some time observed his alignment to Najib, but the SWIFT code issue was his undoing.

He is not a moron. Unfortunately, politics demand that he is either "with me or against me" syndrome. He persistently stuck with defending any Najib-related issues, and finally got the dedak he wanted..... sigh.....

  15. This moron is incompetent and when he made that foolish statement about the funds transfer of 1MDB,that shows how stupid he is. Even the Bangla cleaner in CIMB is smarter than him. That is why he is appointed to TH because the tyrant dictator needs people without brains that he can use them for his thieving actions.

  16. Btw, i met a bangla cleaner at CIMB Islamic Bank hq and he asked me-"Bang, ada kerja kosong lagi ka di TH? Kalau itu Badlisyah boleh jadi CEO, saya boleh jadi President.Sebab saya tau tengok itu SWIFT Code.Tapi itu Badlisyah ingat itu Suzuki Swift".
