Malay leaders

I asked my friend Gondrong to write about this

Mustapa Mohamed quits Umno

but the guy was in one of his weird moods and wrote this instead,

By Si Gondrong

    Ayuh..Bangunlah Melayu...sedarlah sebelum terlambat...

    2. "Sedarlah sebelum terlambat"? Siapa tak sedar, actually? MO1 a.k.a Jibros tu lah sebenarnya pengkhianat agama, bangsa, rakyat dan tanahair. Umno sepatutnya dilenyapkan dari bumi Malaysia forever. “Lifetime ban”. Sayonara dan good riddance. Tok Pa ni memang bijak. Tabik hormat.

Rakyat dahulu disuruh kais pagi makan pagi, tapi pemimpin Umno (Annuar Musa, Najib, Mael Sabri, Zahid, Tajuddin, & KBU lain) pula ibarat tikus jatuh ke guni beras. Mashyuk! Hidup bergelumang rasuah dan harta curi. Muka sikit pun takde rasa malu. Selepas kalah PRU14, memang takde rasa malu langsung. Perangai “same old same old”.

      “New Umno” konon…heh heh heh.

    4. 18 more to leave Umno???

  4. Si Gondrong,

    Alamak!!

Is my Bahasa Melayu so bad or are you worried about "kuasa Melayu"?

Look, Melayu agak2 70% of population.

Perdana Mentri - Melayu, TPM - Melayu, Home Minister - Melayu, Defence Minister - Melayu, IGP - Melayu. Head of Army - Melayu, Bank Negara chairman - Melayu and I could go on and on and on.

All the most significant posts and positions - semua Melayu.

And Melayus are still suffering from a lack of confidence?

Maybe my Indon friend was right - Melayu bodoh.

Bukan gua cakap, ok? Ni direct dari mulut orang Indon, ok?

Who the fuck has been poisoning the minds of Melayus with such feelings of insecurity and hopelessness?

Let's find them and kill them.... ooopppsss... sorry.. I meant ...stop them. :)

No need. Umno will eat itself. Read Kadir Jasin, he is right - without constant flow of money & dedak, Umno has no direction and no idea what to do.

"KUALA LUMPUR – More Umno leaders will follow Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed in leaving the party, claimed Datuk Lokman Adam.

In a Facebook video, the Umno supreme council member “guaranteed” these would include those from his level up.

He accused these of being turncoats and enemy agents, adding that they were spread out in the party.

“Let’s not go too far. In our Supreme Council today, I dare guarantee there are those who are prepared to leave the party,” Lokman said.

He urged Umno to accept the possible departures as an opportunity to clean house."

Bersatu will soon be the BIGGEST PARTY in Parliament:

"KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 19 — Several MPs from Umno and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) have met to discuss whether they should unite for Malay interests, Padang Besar MP Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin claimed today.

Sinar Online quoted Zahidi as saying that several Umno lawmakers have been involved in talks, but those discussions were not about leaving the Opposition party but about possibly uniting both Umno and ruling party PPBM.

“The talks involved several Umno Members of Parliament whose names have gone viral,” the Perlis lawmaker was quoted saying.

Zahidi was referring to a purported list of 17 MPs planning to leave Umno that has gone viral on WhatsApp, after two senior MPs — Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed and Datuk Seri Anifah Aman — quit the party.

Zahidi reportedly said suggestions of an Umno-PPBM unity were still at the early stages.

“We’ve just been talking, there hasn’t been any decision made yet. We’re still evaluating the pros and cons if we unite, as long as we reach the best solution in the interest of Malays.”

I will bow to your superior knowledge because of your second oldest genetic DNA :)

I did read somewhere that gladiators did come from many many different lands, eg Africa, different parts of Europe, Middle East. etc but I don't specifically know if any gladiators came from Asia.

//Like DAP had been poisoning the Chinese that they were 3rd class citizen in this country since 1969.//

    Heheheheh!!

    Wrong.

DAP did not have to poison the Chinese minds into thinking that the Chinese were treated as 4th or 5th class citizens.

The evidence is there for all to see - there was no meritocracy whatsoever.

Instead of building and leveraging on meritocracy, UMNO chose to ignore it altogether and sidelined the Chinese and Indians.

Don't get me wrong - some Chinese and Indians benefited immensely from working with UMNO, but on UMNO terms and under UMNO conditions.

The vast majority of the Chinese and Indians suffered because of a lack of meritocracy.

Sadly for the Malays, many of them did not benefit either from the lopsided policies implemented by UMNO.

Now, we know why - money was being stolen from right under their noses.

Thankfully, enough Malays have seen the light and the future is now looks good for ALL Malaysians today.

Today, we can march down that road to economic success, side by side, shoulder to shoulder.

You might be Melayu, he might be Cina, she might be India, but nobody cares.

At least, that's the theory :)

Perhaps this "Great Leap Forward" might trip and fall flat on its face, just like that other infamous "Great Leap Forward", but we got to try something different.

All I know is that the 50 years were a waste of time and money doing it the UMNO way.

    1. Funny.. as if you are so naive on this. For years since independence DAP were harping on special rights of the Malays. They sensationalised that due to this special right of the Malays, Chinese were third class citizens. Some DAP leader venomised this issue by saying Malaysia practising apartheid policy.Even though these special rights of the Malays were mentioned in the constitution, no preferential treatment were given to the Malays then..NEP was only introduced only after the racial riots in May 13 1969.Because of this venom being regarded as 3rd class citizen, the non Malays were angry in 1969 and they displayed it in May 13 victory procession by insulting the Malays. Tragedy happened when the Malays organised a counter victory procession the next day.To digest more, I suggest you to download the NOC report and special report on May 13 tragedy at jebatmustdie blogspot.

You mentioned meritocracy as if the country downsouth that claimed to practise meritocracy was a good model to follow..Have you heard of "Singapore Eugenics" policy where the rich and educated citizens were given preferential treatment while the poor and uneducated were treated like parasites and were disincentive to control their population.I quote extraction from the book " A nation cheated. -
"If truth be told, the PAP's neglect of the poor stems directly from Lee Kuan Yew's personal philosophy. In 1967, the Minister Mentor said that every society has approximately 5 percent of the population:
who are more than ordinarily endowed physically and mentally and in whom we must extend our limited and slender resources in order that they will provide that yeast, that ferment, that catalyst in our society which alone will ensure that Singapore shall maintain its pre-eminent place in the societies that exist in South and Southeast Asia.

Lee repeated his ideas in 1969, this time even more forcefully:
Free education and subsidised housing lead to a situation where the less economically productive people in the community are reproducing themselves at rates higher than the rest. This will increase the total population of less productive people. Our problem is how to devise a system of disincentives, so that the irresponsible, the social delinquents, do not believe that all they have to do is to produce their children and the government then owes them and their children sufficient food, medicine, housing, education and jobs...We must encourage those who earn less than $200 per month and cannot afford to nurture and educate many children never to have more than two. We will regret the time lost if we do not now take the first tentative steps towards correcting a trend which can leave our society with a large number of the physically, intellectually and culturally anaemic."

Dont you think this was a "racist" policy cloaked under meritocracy. Replace "poor", "less economically productive" and "uneducated" with Malays, you can sensed the angle I am coming from.

  33. Anonymous @ 20 September 2018 at 00:31,

//For years since independence DAP were harping on special rights of the Malays.//

Well, you said it yourself, didn't you?

Did DAP create those "special rights" for the Malays so as to poison the minds of the Chinese?

Did DAP create those "special rights" for the Malays so that the Chinese will become jealous of the Malays?

//Some DAP leader venomised this issue by saying Malaysia practising apartheid policy//

So, I take it that you don't believe that Malaysia had an apartheid policy?

    OK.

Tell me, what is "apartheid" if it does not mean having a distinct privileged class and a distinct not-so-privileged class?

// no preferential treatment were given to the Malays then//

    Really?

So, Malays did not get treated differently from other races?

    OK, got it :)

//and they displayed it in May 13 victory procession by insulting the Malays//

Pls lah, it was not about insulting the Malays.

It was just plain stupid violence which was most probably started by ppl (most likely Chinese but I think it will never be really known) during that stupid "victory march" thru the Malay area.

That "victory march" was never supposed to go thru Kampung Baru but it did (some say the march was hijacked by the Communists) and then mindless violence took over from better judgement.

I personally think to call it "insulting the Malays" was a deliberate attempt to split Malaysians down racial lines by some very evil people, be they Chinese or Malays or Indians.

//I suggest you to download the NOC report and special report on May 13 tragedy at jebatmustdie blogspot.//

I will most certainly do that as I have a special interest in the May 13 riots as it relates to Selangor.

//You mentioned meritocracy as if the country downsouth that claimed to practise meritocracy was a good model to follow.//

Who says I was talking about Singapore?

No idea why you mentioned Singapore.

    Let me tell you this.

    Meritocracy is a bitch.

You get no favours from meritocracy on the way up.

BUT when you are at the top of the pile, meritocracy is still a bitch.

    Why?

Your social responsibility also increases, so you must pay your taxes, help those less fortunate, make sure you do not steal from the system, etc etc such that the system which offers those meritorious conditions is not compromised.

A meritocracy does not mean the end of one's social responsibilities.

For some strange reason, you seem to think it does.

//Replace "poor", "less economically productive" and "uneducated" with Malays//

Why not replace "poor", "less economically productive", etc with "little green men from Mars"?

What has being poor and less economically productive got to do with race?

Are there no poor and less economically productive Chinese? Indians? Africans? Polish? Lithuanians?

But go ahead, keep thinking in terms of race and stay stuck in that rut, worrying about race whilst others are thinking of how to improve their skills, how to acquire knowledge, how to climb up the next rung of success.

OK, I know you will not believe me, but never mind, that is not my loss.

I will leave it with you to consider. I cannot always hang around waiting for you to catch up. I am sorry but I must move on.

      Let me correct your presumption.

The marginalized Chinese do better DESPITE the apartheid policy of past. If not for the policy, who knows if Malaysia would not have surpassed Singapore today?

After all, it has been said the Malay in Singapore is richer than the Chinese in Malaysia. And last year Singapore attracted six times more value in foreign investments than Malaysia which is much larger, more populous and certainly better endowed with natural resources. All that besides the three fold exchange rate of two countries which had originated from one.

Let us all wake up and get real from today onward.

We have been bequeathed a humungous national debt that will need another fifteen years to discharge. If for any reason our fragile open-world economy tanks during these coming years, the bad financial overhang will cost us plenty in terms of increased foreign loan interest rates which will affect cost of industrial expansion and therefore competitiveness of product sales on the world market. And if we depend on quantitative easing to prop the domestic banking sector as loan source, our currency will weaken even faster, making imports costlier and raising the cost of living onto most who are wage-earners living off fixed incomes.

The country does not have enough internal funds to invest; much of the servicing of current debts caused by the last government will eat into money meant for future development.

Furthermore, the aspiration to raise the minimum wage when productivity has not increased while public holidays have only sprouted will mean any rise in wages will reduce our attractiveness as an investment destination what more increase wage rates pressure by foreign workers especially in our agricultural industries which are dependent on them the most inasmuch dependent on the whims and fancies of foreign commodity prices which will determine their profits and therefore survival.

      Delete
    4. 2/2

Meanwhile we look for foreign investors as an imperative to dig us out of the financial landfill. Have we asked where they are to come from?

The US is repatriating its offshore funds to create jobs and rebuild itself; if it makes more, will it want to buy from us? And can we afford to buy from it? If we can't, will we still be relevant to the US as a 'moderate democracy'? In fact, will it have the confidence to invest here when its DoJ has already branded us the biggest kleptocracy?

Next, a post-Brexit continental Europe will be too busy internalizing the transfer of British financial leverage to bother about South-East Asia.

And Japan isn't going to come here again because the last time it did, they left asking the most pointed question, "where is your human resource expertise?"

After twenty years and to this day, there is still NONE. But you already know why. Ask PAS. They will say the STEM-supporting UEC divides and thus must be blocked but the PAS-supporting Islamic religious studies must be recognized.

For what? A better after-life? Will it put food on the table, roof over head, wheels in the garage, jobs in the factories?

If one has to use apartheid policies in all but name to defend the indefensible, how can ALL Malaysians help dig this country out of the quagmire the same policies have created for so many years past that have only resulted in the creation of the biggest and most hypocritical kleptocracy made of the most useless bunch of crooks and mischief-making monkeys. By the way, any of them a DAP, etc member?

Internally, our Malays still need help but it won't work demanding it as a matter of right. In what way are the others lesser Malaysians? In fact, if not for them, the national treasury will be denuded of funds and all the affirmative policies would have run into the ground long by now.

Our Malays need a new course. At the least, admit the dependence, show some contrition and humility even if gratitude is not a forte, and work cooperatively with the others to rebuild a cleaner, more trusting and efficient nation. No more the 3R bulling around. We should have outgrown that greatest destroyer of our social and economic fabric. Be pragmatic about solutions. After all, you can't use the same method and expect different results.

I am probably not as good as you in English but I am not jealous :)

//the so called "apartheid" policy made the marginalised Chinese getting richer and their rights were all protected.//

    Really?

So, the Chinese were able to buy up Malay Reserve Land, go to the university of their choice, study the course of their choice.

OK, I didn't know that, thanks for telling me. :)

Aaaahhh, so my cousins who stand by the side of the road selling fruits are actually very rich people.

All this time, they have been hiding their wealth from me.

That is why one of them drives a totally unroadworthy rust bucket of a car - so I don't know he is rich.

//I am here to expose people like you.//

I am sooooo afraid now :)

Please let me know what you find out, OK?

I am always interested in what others think of my views because I believe it helps make me a better person.

    So, fire away :)

//everything bad to this country is due to DUMNO and Parti Anak Syaitan aka Malays//

You are the person generalising it to Malays, not me :)

I see UMNO and PAS as political parties who exploit the Malays.

Yes, I have little love for UMNO but I accept that there are good people in UMNO who have been pushed into the background in the previous regime.

And yes, I have even less love for Parti Anak Syaitan after Nik Aziz.

I happen to be lucky enough to have experienced Islam and its different sects from very close up in a few places around the world.

To me, PAS has bastardised Islam for it's own political purposes, nothing more nothing less.

It has been asked many times by many people - why does PAS want people, esp non-Muslims, to hate Islam?

My conclusion? Because they are Parti Anak Syaitan, that's why.

//while everything good and rosy due to DAP.//

    Really??

    PKR did not do anything?

    Amanah did not do anything?

    PPBM did not do anything?

Wow! That is probably going to be very upsetting news to Anwar Ibrahim, Mat Sabu and Mahatir Mohd.

I think you have come up with that theory because of influences from an UMNO mindset - other component parties have contributed very little.

To a degree, that is true because towards the end, Gerakan, MCA and MIC were simply too ineffective.

Or maybe it is the influence from a PAS mindset - nobody else matters except PAS :)

Oooppss, I forgot, you are here to expose me and I am spoiling your fun.

    1. Hope you had a good lunch, mighty Spartacus.

Talking about food, i have always wondered why is it our Malays don't have a popular signature food chain by now when our Indian Muslims have many and most are a success. One would have thought that with a population of over 16 million, there would have been sufficient demand to make it a good business proposition to have at least five or six national restaurant chains where Malay fare from all the states can be savored by everyone.

Just thinking aloud, there could be a couple of factors. One, funding is a problem; two, organizational know-how; three, labor; four, getting it all right for repeat customers; five, pricing; six, attitude about life and challenges.

Yet if our Indian Muslims with less have done it, why can't our Malay Muslims as well by now? Seven, being laconic out of fear of competition?

Some in other industries, eg motor workshops, had tried to ride the bandwagon to bypass point seven with a signage that said 'bumiputra'. But as it turned out for all, that's the surest way to kill the business. Hopefully the proprietors have understood the reasons why by now.

People go to a restaurant for good food and service at fair prices not because they want to support the owner's personal pride. After all, the factors of business and life success are the same whatever the race, faith or fealty. And a major contributing factor is the business must have as many customers and for as long as possible. Which means the net must be cast wide. Which means anything, even a evanescent tidakpathy look on the face, that discourages others from coming in is a self-inflicted wound or a remembered slight. These days all the more because of social media.

Which comes to point eight. How many have not remembered how hard it was to earn last year's bonus, small as that was for most? Yet that's life, especially in a cheezy economy made moribund day by day by bad administration, hopefully banished by now.

Which comes to Malay leadership. Is there one Malay leader who has managed the expectations of the Malay community by stressing that low-hanging fruits are a bad sign of slow-growing trees?

For instance, money for Br1M might have come from subsidies collected but subsidies collected weakened businesses to employ more whilst the same money could have been used to buy better medicine for the old and build better schools for the young.

That Br1M was also given to make Umno look sexier for voters should not be lost on all. After all, some of it might also have been used to buy million-ringgit anti-aging aphrodisiacs as well. Looking at the visage(s) concerned, much good those would have done.

Moving forward, any Malay leadership from now on must be made convinced that just because money has fluid properties, that's no license to play around with it. Because GE14 was a total tsunami when all realized it was their own money in the first place. If our Malays were angry then, they can well imagine how their Chinese and other brothers must have been angrier even more for the reason our Malays already know which no longer need be further underlined.

Given the present situation, ALL the new leaders must work together to revamp Malaysia's mindset. Create a new climate of confidence, energy and action. Depoliticize internal scrambling and competition; those moves serve but only the previous crop of nutheads and blingballers who, drunk on race and religious powers, had engaged only in politically onanistic self-gratification at the expense and for the bill of the rakyat of this nation.

If the si gondrong's of this land still haven't got it, they can try paying off some of the debts and repairing some of the disrepute. Seizure and loss of power? Power to do what? Steal, lie, deflect, blame, cheat and abuse again?

I am a scrawny malnourished dweep wearing thick glasses :)

//why is it our Malays don't have a popular signature food chain by now//

Hmmm, now that you mentioned it, why don't they?

The points you raised are commonly faced by anybody starting a business anywhere on this planet, so perhaps Malay readers here could offer some insights here.

//Is there one Malay leader who has managed the expectations of the Malay community by stressing that low-hanging fruits are a bad sign of slow-growing trees?//

Come on lah, give the current administration a bit of time.

From what I can tell, Mahatir is kind of hinting at it, eg he has said he will only help hardworking Malays.

//Moving forward, any Malay leadership from now on must be made convinced that just because money has fluid properties...//

Any politician who tries any monkey business in today's political environment is stupid and deserves whatever is coming to him/her.

//Given the present situation, ALL the new leaders must work together to revamp Malaysia's mindset.//

This is going to take time.

As I said previously elsewhere, some things will take generations to change.

    //politically onanistic self-gratification//

Now, that is a turn of phrase I have not seen ever :)

//If the si gondrong's of this land still haven't got it...//

Well, there will be many si gondrongs still left.

We cannot expect them to all disappear in such a short time.

Like I said, it will take time, some times generations.

It could be a major export industry in a PAS-led Malaysian government.

I mean, Kelantan seems to be already leading the country in this area by some accounts, so PAS has a lot of experience.

Also wealthy foreigners could be invited to come to Malaysia, convert to Islam, and *ahem* practise Islam the PAS way.

Just imagine the amount of foreign capital which will flood into the country!!!

Billions, my friend, tens of billions!!!
