Street rallies in Malaysia are built on hate

Had dinner with a good friend last night.

She used to be a BN supporter but now had jumped to the other side.

She read my last post and said I was wrong for asking the authorities to stop the planned Bersih rally next month, but agreed on the part where I wrote that the Red Shirts needed to be stopped too.

"Bersih is peaceful. It's the Red Shirts who create the trouble. They are the violent ones," she said.

She had watched that video where a group of Red Shirts beat up a Bersih motorcyclist.

I told her that I'm against all kind of street rallies.

It doesn't matter who are organising it.

Street rallies can easily end up being violent no matter how peaceful the organisers said it would be.

The Bersih rallies had turned violent in the past.

Remember these images?

The Bersih crowd in that incident actually beat up a policeman and totally thrashed his patrol car.

There were other not so nice images of Bersih like these.

Any group of people can turn into a violent mob if they were instigated hard enough to hate.

It doesn't matter whether they are wearing red, yellow, pink or whatever other colours.

That's why I'm against both Bersih and Red Shirts.

I believe in doing things peacefully and intelligently.

Street protests, at least in this country, are just not that.

They were mostly built on hate and the risk of violence is always there.

In Bersih case - hate Umno and BN.

In Red Shirts case - hate the opposition.

Hate and violence should be shunned.

It's actually easier to preach hate and violence but  to what end will that leads us?

Let's not fall for the tricks of those who try to be popular by peddling hate and violence,  okay.

  1. Its about provocation lah annie. Last year the police did not kacau the crowd at bersih, and there were zero incidents even tho it was their biggest rally so far. Then you can compare to the red shits 'counter-rally' paid for by umno (not making it up, the circular to KBU is online)...complete disregard of police instructions, and 3 cops injured by red shits. So you have to go back to purpose lah...the red shits are paid troublemakers whose purpose is only to disrupt others' protest. Sole job is to kacau & bodek to show that the hippo's stealing of public money is ok and halal. I think thats a big difference.

    1. If I remember it correctly the policeman was not doing anything provocative when pelted by the crowd until he lost control of the vehicle and got beaten up.

    2. "the policeman was not doing anything provocative"?

Well by the same logic, none of the police cars which got torched in the USA after black American teens were shot is justified (which is true; violence should NOT justify more violence.) But you cannot say unprovoked.

Heres one of dozens of police brutality videos of the same Bersih rally in 2012:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tcyzet276VY

So these cops who are kicking a fallen guy in the kidneys are wrong, as it may cause general anger towards the police. But, if someone attacks a police car after that, then they are equally wrong. Lets just be grateful we are not at the stage reached in the US, where innocent cops get shot dead due to the actions of a few black sheep in the force.

My point is that for Bersih 4, the cops did a far more common sense thing: just keep hands off, and let rally proceed. And neither cops nor rallygoers caused a single problem for each other. Same thing this year, if cops approve permit for jamal bin dedak & bersih on same day, they are not using common sense lah.

    9. Meanwhile, hospitals nationwide are running out of funds. It is only October, but they are already receiving instructions to exercise economic frugality in clinical practice.

Labs are running out of reagents to conduct tests for pathogens and biochemical irregularities. The choices of antibiotics and medications are put on constraint.

Specialists in training are now required to pay out of their own pockets to attend courses and conferences for professional development. To add to that, for sub-specialty training, applicants are limited to attending only those institutions that don’t charge fees or charge them at minimal rates.

Reports are also surfacing that there are attempts to limit the number of personnel on call or to replace on-call claims with days off.

  2. Just as the Republicans are now fleeing for higher ground in the wake of a leaked tape showing Trump discussing sexually assaulting women with his celebrity status, BN leaders are rushing to distance themselves from Jamal.

His crass behaviour is unacceptable to the spirit of humility and respect that is prized in Malay culture, and his claims of being a champion of race and religion are met with derision. The longer Umno is associated with him and the more the Deputy Prime Minister defend hims, the deeper the belief among members of the general public that Jamal is given carte blanche by the Umno leadership to throw the country into chaos.

This issue is no longer just Bersih versus the Red Shirts. It is now a battle to assert the true nature of the Malaysian character and it is fought between the vast majority of rakyat and the ilk of Jamal. It is a struggle for the face of Malaysia.

      1. Versi - PAS sedang berpelok dengan DAP. (Ketika itu Melayu sanggup jadi lembu, baring tengah-jalan)

      2. Versi - PAS berpisah dengan Haji Hadi. (95% Cina. Polis tegas ketika itu. Deploy FRU, siap dengan tear-gas... ditugaskan menghalang Geng Baju-merah mendekati/bertembung dengan Baju-Kuning).

      3. Versi - Dr.M keluar UMNO kerana Hutang 1MDB-Jho Low. UMNO berpecah menjadi Bersatu. (Polis tahu... setakat Melayu-terajang-Melayu... tak jadi hal. Memang pun Melayu berani dengan bangsa sendiri je. Kalau Mat Motor tu... berkulit cerah... sudah tentu tak kena flying-kick)

  5. Assuredly, Dato Jamal must continue his efforts to protect the Bugis race at the expense of the Malays. Financial contribution is rightly expected reward for ikan bakar operations. As many hospitals are now running short of money, the priority must still go to printing more red shirts and extra buses to bring oghang Pelda into city centre. Further money can be raised by persuading DS Rosmah to accept RM1,000 hair treatment instead of RM1,200. This is prudence that DS Najib calls for.

In fact Blue is blur most of the time. He seems to be lost, much like the pension money of civil servants amounting to 4 billion ringgit from KWAP is 80% lost in SRC.

The only way out is for the Italian salesgirl who recognized Kak Ros as the customer who used SRC credit card to pay for RM3.3 million worth of jewels, to be placed immediately in a tong simen and given C4 as dessert. RPK can do a new SD to place Kak Ros at the scene of the crime.

If I may, what is wrong is wrong. Those who wrecked the police car should be apprehended. And they were caught and fined. Likewise with the Baju Merah who beat up that motorcyclist last weekend. They deserved to be punished as well. But you cannot blame the motorcyclist for what other people did to the police car. It wasn't him who wrecked the police car. He was innocently riding home and got beat up by Umno's gangsters. What is so bad about it is, Umno is part of the government. Yet they condone this. Last year, Najib even mentioned that Baju Merah is the saviour of malays and he sends them regards. What kind of gangsterism is this PM promoting? He should step down already.

    i.    mula-mula dinafikan

ii.   kemudian dikata harta pusaka pula

  11. Annie,

I knew you would bring up the violence in previous BERSIH rallies :)

As others have pointed out, that BERSIH 4.0 was a peaceful rally.

Now, we know that BERSIH 4.0 was predominantly Chinese, so I wonder if there was any correlation there.

Note that there were claims that at least one previous BERSIH rally was infiltrate by fake BERSIH protesters who instigated trouble, thereby drawing in other genuine protesters.

I suspect another reason for BERSIH 4.0 being peaceful is that BERSIH organisers have been on the lookout for these fake protesters to start trouble so as to apprehend them and hand them over to PDRM.

Of cos we cannot know if BERSIH 5.0 will be peaceful, as I have a feeling that Jamal Yunos will do all he can to make sure it is not peaceful.

It will be interesting to see how many personnel PDRM sends to control the BERSIH crowd AND Jamal Yunos.

If PDRM merely sends a token force, I will guarantee that Jamal Yunos takes advantage of the light PDRM presence.

And of cos, it will be the fault of the BERSIH 5.0 protesters for provoking Jamal Yunos - obviously. :)

And becos there is only a light PDRM presence, PDRM will just stand by and watch - apa bolih buat, tak cukup manpower.

I am seriously thinking of going to KL just to watch what happens during BERSIH 5.0.

Must speak with my UMNO friends to see what they are doing. I think the safest viewing will be if I hang around with them :)

Your favourite deranged pork chop has emerged again from the lonely darkness of her miserable "existence".

Continuing her love affair with the ikan bakar man, she is now posting topless photos of him in addition to the one of him sitting in his "Felalli".

As usual, she is a barrel of laughs.

When challenged on why she still reads LoA, piglet responds:

"If the rest of the blogs are of a high standard breed, I wouldn’t be reacting because such blogs woud (sic) not be telling lies all the time."

Huh? "High standard breed", really? So Blobby thinks her hyper repetitive broken record posts ada standard? Even the most fervent of her macai have fallen asleep through sheer boredom. She'll soon be left only with that crazy old uncle who also infests Tun's blog with his LKY-Singapore rants.

    Another good one:

re: “what would orang melayu be without you, H****?”
Your Melayu features and hidung sudu senduk (kalau ada) would morph to become more and more Cina DAP-looking – pix below – as happened with one particular Protun Umno reject."

Ummmmm, I dunno if Blobby's kandang babi has any mirrors, but she should really check one out. The reverse process does not work, clearly, because Blobby's hidung, like her eyes, are sinking further and further into the quicksand of char siew pau dough she calls a "face". They will disappear completely before too long.

I hear the Dato Subuh chap is frequently sighted at the Chengkih restaurant in Taman tun Dr Ismail while the Nik Ariff Faisal fellow is rumoured to be having a good time in Indonesia. Pak- kamu sudah diperkosai atau sudah memperkosai? Bila pulang pak?

    They are protected by MO1.

Why aren’t these people brought in for questioning? Up to today, SRC hasn’t explained its illegal transfer of RM42 million into Najib’s account. If Najib doesn’t have control and doesn’t know about his personal account, how can we trust this man with running this country? This man must be the thickest PM we have ever had.

  19. Switzerland's Office of the Attorney-General (OAG) has initiated criminal proceedings against Falcon Private Bank for failing to prevent offences related to 1MDB.

"The decision to open proceedings is based on information revealed by investigations in the 1MDB case and on issues raised in the decision of the Finma (Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority) from early October 2016.

I would not get too excited about this just yet.

Bear in mind that, very likely, at some point the Swiss will need more information from the Malaysian government.

We already know that the Malaysian government is, shall we say, rather slow in coming forward with information on 1MDB.

      http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-10-05/switzerland-asks-malaysia-again-for-help-with-1mdb-case

The claim there by Malaysian A-G, Apandi Ali, was that no official request has been received thru the correct channels, whatever that means.

Strangely, the Swiss seem to have used the correct channels with Singapore as legal action has already begun against Falcon Bank, UBS and BSI in Switzerland.

Do you remember the Michael Chia case where he was caught trying to carry massive amounts of cash out of Hong Kong?

Well, the HK authorities had to, eventually, drop the case after waiting 6 or 7 years for the Malaysian government to provide more information which was never provided.

  22. It will be good if one were to fully understand Bersih's demands and what they stand for. I am not in anyway tied to any affiliation but I happened to attend a Bersih program, It was not political. Their aim is to create awareness among Malaysians for the need to have a Clean and Efficient Government. It so happens that after more than half a decade Malaysia is getting from bad to worse. Don't that bother people ? Don't the big stinking elephant worth billions in the room bothers us ? Don't the national debt bother us ? Don't the difficulty in life getting worse bother us ? I do not do much shopping but when I last did I was shocked that in 6 months the prices of essential items had risen so much.. n I am talking about tooth paste no luxurious things...
