PKR's palace intrigues - knives out for Azmin

This is a headline at Malaysia Chronicle yesterday;

IF HE HAS ANY HONOR, ‘NAJIB JUNIOR’ AZMIN SHOULD QUIT AS SELANGOR MB: HIS TREACHERY REVEALED IN FAILED BID TO STEAL PM & DPM POST FROM DR M & AZIZAH, NO REASON TO LET PKR’S NO.1 POLITICAL BACKSTABBER HOG THE S’GOR TOP POST

http://www.malaysia-chronicle.com/if-he-has-any-honor-najib-junior-azmin-should-quit-as-selangor-mb-his-treachery-revealed-in-failed-bid-to-steal-pm-dpm-post-from-dr-m-azizah-no-reason-to-let-pkrs-no-1-political-backstabb/

(It's a blocked site but I managed to get around it courtesy of Jebat Must Die...hehehe)

Malaysian Chronicle is a pro-PKR website. Many believed that it's run by Tian Chua.

Well, maybe it's been taken over by Rafizi, thus such a headline. You know lah that boy and Azmin like what.

The story itself is actually not as fearsome as the headline.

Just quotes from PKR leaders supporting Pakatan's decision to nominate Dr Mahathir as PM candidate and other stuff decided at Pakatan's convention over the weekend. Nothing to do with Azmin, really.

Quite weird actually to put such a headline.

That's why I think the media will not improve if Pakatan takes over Putrajaya.

Anyway, guess they are really going to kill Azmin off after GE14.

That's quite a pity because I thought Azmin is one of the country's hope for the future. Same like KJ, Chin Tong, Sallahudin Ayub, Mukhriz, and such.

I wrote several times about Azmin and his potentials;

The opposition leader who can reunite them

A little issue and Azmin being the best PM candidate

Pakatan's new hope

Well, just like Umno, PKR also has its own palace intrigues, complete with diva princesses, scheming concubines and insidious greedy eunuchs.

Watch some Korean period drama la if you don't know what I'm talking about.

Azmin is like a crown prince and Rafizi is like his pesky little brother who wants to grab the throne for himself. Something like that.

Everyone scheming against each others even before the real fight with the real enemy begins.

So typical.

Eh, need to go to work now.

I ll try to write again later.

Cheers.

  2. Dear Annie;

I don't give a damn about palace intrigues.
Just petty quarrel among small minded people. I much prefer bigger scene that's why I like Din Merican's opinion. Very down to earth. Here's an excerpt of his recent article in his blog for everyone to pounder:

Where does Mahathir fit in here?

The opposition needs him because he is a master political strategist. He can be relied on to come up with plans to reach the non-customers – the voters that will count in the next election.

These are the heartland Malays. Only Mahathir has the capacity and the appeal to reach them, not even Anwar. The heartland Malay still has enough respect for Mahathir to listen to him.

His contribution to the country and the Malay community is acknowledged. Yes, he was not perfect. There were many things wrong, very wrong. But, on balance, the heartland Malay is likely to believe Mahathir when he says the country is in trouble and change is necessary.

There is no one in the opposition that has the stature of Mahathir. There is no scandal similar to 1MDB that readily comes to mind when talking about Mahathir.

What is critical now for the opposition is strategy and leadership. Whether you like Mahathir or not is not relevant. Only he can provide the strategic thinking and leadership that is needed.

Given his age and the structure of the coalition parties in the opposition, fears about he holding on to power or abusing his power appear to be unfounded. It is going to take time to build a viable democracy in Malaysia.

Mahathir is certainly not a deacon of democracy, but in order to win the war one first needs to win the battle – the next election. For that, Mahathir is the right general.

Also, after the election there is the important task of reconstruction – rebuilding the economy and institutions. For this, there is no better person than Mahathir.

His capacity for developing the country is a matter of record. So, all in all, Mahathir may well be the only choice to lead the opposition at this juncture. There are several good people in the opposition, but leading the team, given the present challenges, calls for someone like Mahathir.

  4. Annie,

Azmin Ali will prevail simply because he is a pure politician - not good for very much else but damn good in politics.

I really really like Rafizi but he is an intellectual not a politician.

We need people like Rafizi to drive this nation forward because he knows what is needed.

But we also need people like Azmin to implement those big visions.

We need people like Azmin to negotiate the path thru the pak lebais, the diehard racists, the stubborn warlords, etc.

Personally, I wish there was no rivalry between Azmin and Rafizi.

If anything, I expect, in fact, I demand that Azmin be the first to hold out his hand in friendship because I consider Azmin to be the more experienced of the two in human relationships.

The PH leadership including PKR president has accepted the PH decision, and why should he instigate his macais to create so much trouble instead of preparing to counter the relentless attack from the BN cybertroopers ?

Even amanah members are not satisfied but they have accepted the decision. I really hope he will lose in whatever seat he contest. it will be better off for PH.

  5. Hi Annie,

It is like the Game of Thrones.

If you watch Game of Thrones, one of the character is little finger.

Little finger try to get people to fight each other by telling lies and half truth.

The ending is not good for him.

Same here, some people want to get some people at Pakatan to go against each other.

Azmin future will be over after GE14? I doubt that very much. Just like your prediction that Tun M going to contest in JB.

    - These 4 seats are predominantly hardcore Malay seats. Melayu totok punya seats. A revolving door between Umno and Pas in past elections.

People in these areas consume info via tv, surat khabar and cakap-cakap kedai kopi. They are not internet savvy.

PKR stands no chance there. They are not very well received there. PPBM or Amanah can do a better job. If you don’t believe me just pick one local guy over there and ask him what do you think of PKR. Later on he will start making weird faces to you.

PKR can swap these seats with other seats. A little tweaking and fine-tuning need to be done.

    1. Don't know about the other 3 seats but I agree with your analysis on Rompin. Rompin people have not changed much in their thinking, so easy to please with a strong herd mentality. Hassan Carimakan Ariffin public admission in the PAC press conference was well liked by Rompin folks for he has demonstrated his staunch support for Najib. If he is again nominated to stand in Rompin, he will win hands down because Rompin electorate cannot accept anything notUmno. To them the world will end without umno.

    3. Is it true the (jailed) spouse of the potential DPM really did screw the spouse of Mr. Azmin over a substantial period of time? Now you can't expect Mr. Azmin to just sit tight and take another slap in the face can you?

  11. Syed's take on this stunt by Azmin:

Why wait until after the PH convention to say that you disagree? Plus, Azmin is Chairman of Pakatan Harapan in Selangor. The proper thing to do now is for Azmin to resign as Chairman of Pakatan Harapan Selangor.

Otherwise the hypocrisy is just to great bro.

The other version of this statement said that PKR Selangor does not agree with both Dr Mahathir as PM candidate and Wan Azizah as DPM candidate. But now in this Malay Mail report, there is no mention of Wan Azizah. They only mention Tun Dr Mahathir.

Even if they want a PKR candidate to be PM, then it should be the party president Wan Azizah. Azmin is not even president of PKR. Azmin is only head of PKR in Selangor.

If PKR feels that they have a good track record running Selangor, then using that same argument it should be Lim Guan Eng as the PM candidate because Guan Eng has done a much better job running Penang for the past two terms.

My suspicion is that the Wizard of Ass is also behind this "we dont want Mahathir" move. Whenever there is some bungle, you can expect the Brader to be somewhere behind it.

This can also give them justification for the continued PKR - PAS cooperation in Selangor. They have their own agendas, which will most likely backfire.

A friend suggests that Pakatan Harapan should just kick out PKR and go without them.

Let it be a straight UMNO - PAS - PKR - BN versus Pakatan Harapan fight.

My view is the Wizard of Ass is planning more backstabbing, even after the elections are over.

    Better watch out Pakatan Harapan.
Dont say I did not warn you.
You can never trust these folks.

And then this third party set up a company in tax haven country using names similar to the ones that already exist in home country to facilitate the transaction.

If you need to buy something, buy it at inflated price and set up a shell company to receive to money. Someone needs to benefit and pocketed the difference. The higher the price the better. At the end of the day, someone is going to be filthy rich after the transaction is done.
