Helping poor people better than politics

A friend received this from his wife earlier this morning,

It's from the Facebook page of social activist Kuan Chee Heng.

My friend then forwarded the screenshot to his friend in Kota Iskandar.

The guy in Kota Iskandar quickly did the necessary, and this is the outcome,

The visit to the family's home was at 2.30pm today.

My friend was also told by the guy in Kota Iskandar that Tanjung Puteri assemblyman Datuk Adam Sumiru will do the necessary follow-ups.

It's heartwarming that actions were promptly taken to further help the family.

This is better than all the political nonsense that's been going on.

Hopefully those responsible to care for such matters could adopt the same approach.

Better still if such cases were detected early before it's highlighted in the social media.

Anyway, alhamdulillah that the suffering of the family could now be eased to a certain extent.

    1. 1000% totally agreed. Tak faham faham corrupt mean taking money from economic well being of nation to selfish and vested person in power. The money could generate growth. The best word for corrupt leaders are pukimak sial.

  3. Annie,

Would anybody care if I told you that there are also Malaysian Chinese and Malaysian Indians in similar situations?

I guess such occurences involving other ethnicities are not very newsworthy and we should just let the relevant ethic welfare associations handle the problems of their own people.

I mean this is Malaysia and maybe Malays should help only Malays, Chinese should help only Chinese, Indians should help only Indians and it is just plain bad luck for that old Orang Asli man I saw some time ago, dressed in rags, riding his rusty old bicycle.

Yupe, rakyat didahulukan and welcome to Malaysia.

We hope you enjoy your stay.

    2. My apologies.

I was being cynical about how UMNO and the Majlis Agama seem to be rushing in to help this one guy like he is a unique case.

      He is not.

We never hear of them extending a helping hand to others who are not their own.

All the political parties are just as guilty - not just UMNO.

All the religions in Malaysia are just as guilty - not just Malaysian Muslims.

Most Malaysians will only help their own kind but will tell the whole world what wonderful and pious human beings they are.

In a better Malaysia this is how it would be:

"It's from the Facebook page of social activist Kuan Chee Heng.

My friend then forwarded the screenshot to his friend in Kota Iskandar."

So multiracial effort to help someone in need.

Malaysia used to be like that.

    Then politicians killed our country.

  6. Annie,

Every year NGOs which were formed with noble purposes such as helping the poor and needy would go to, amongst others, the state government coffers asking for financial aid. They were given sumbangan in various amounts and forms.

Funny when a case like that which you have highlighted would be one for 'UMNO JOHOR' 'MB JOHOR' to take care. Where are those NGOs and the peruntukan that they have procured?

It's better the government should keep the money next financial year so that any kes for 'tolong orang Melayu' would go to just one source, i.e. the government. Forget about those NGOs.

And, funny as it sounds as you were lecturing about democracy in the last post, about real democracy and what not. Yet today you promote presumed entitlement as if this is a communist government.

Is misfortune of any individual a duty for the current government to resolve? Why not asking the government to buy insurance for everyone?

Or are you suggesting that Malaysia be governed like North Korea?

  8. With the same generosity of building 1000 affordable houses for the rakyat, it is hoped that the DYMM Sultan can initiate the provision of RM 500 monthly allowance to 1000 poorest families in Johore. This will come out to only RM 500,000 per month or RM6 million anually. An insigficant sum to companies that have made billions ringgits profits from the development of the state. DAULAT TUANKU!!

  9. The welfare of the 1Malaysia's poor, especially whose family members were also inflicted with serious illness could have been taken care-of with that Billions lost in 1MDB, Jho Low and Reza Aziz.

Therefore we need not put emphasize on each State where the Menteri Besar's obligation is for his 'Bangsa-Johor' only. While Bangsa Perak, Bangsa Kedah, Bangsa Selangor Bangsa Kelantan etc... etc... have their own MB to take care of the poor and destitute.
It just runs counter to the spirit of 1Malaysia

    Pala-butoh la... Rakyat diDahulukan.

  10. Narrated Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him):
The Prophet (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him) said,
"The upper hand is better than the lower hand (i.e. he who gives in charity is better than him who receives it). One should start giving first to his dependents. And the best of charity is that given by a wealthy person (the available money beyond one's rightful expenses). And whoever abstains from asking others for financial help, Allah will provide for him and save him from supplicating others - and Allah will make him self-sufficient."
