Getting Osman

Several people asked me about this even before I reached KL today;

Johor MB to step down this week?

Honestly, I don't know and after checking with my sources in Johor, they also seemed to be in the dark except for one guy.

This one guy told me, Osman Sapian would likely be asked to step down because he appeared to be more loyal to the Johor palace than Putrajaya.

He also said Osman will have to resign if he wants to avoid being implicated in an alleged corruption case.

I was like, okay that's interesting. Still it's just one guy talking.

But the fact that NST ran the story at the link above today indicated that there must be some truth to the speculation.

That story which quoted unnamed sources appeared to highlight reasons why Osman should be removed from office.

Of course except for the Johor palace bit mentioned by my source.

It's as if NST wanted the public to know it's a good thing that Osman is being removed.

Then reading through Datuk Kadir Jasin's latest post

I don't think my source got it too far off the mark anyway.

And I started to believe this is all because

Come to think of it, the Johor palace seemed to upset the handsome old man quite a bit of late.

It was said that Tunku Mahkota Johor had played an important role leading to the government's U-turn over the Rome statute.

Well, TMJ is probably Dr Mahathir's least favourite royal at the moment because of things such as this,

This is where Osman was said to get in real trouble with Putrajaya because he was said to be siding with the Johor palace on the matter.

I actually understand Osman's position. It's not easy to appear not siding with the palace while trying to run the state government, especially when the palace is actually in the right over an issue.

People outside Johor may find this puzzling and hard to understand but that's how it is.

Well, whatever it is, Osman is indeed in danger of being forced to resign from his post. Otherwise the NST and Datuk Kadir would not have wrote those things.

But then again, I know Osman's character quite a bit because I dealt with him before and I think he would not let himself be pushed around.

The guy is quite a street fighter, actually.

If he's pushed to a corner, Osman will fight.

I can think of several things that Osman can do if he is being forced to resign.

The most outlandish and dangerous is for him to dissolve the state assembly.

I know it's crazy, but the guy can actually do it, especially if the reason why he was forced to resign is because he was siding with the Johor palace.

I don't think the Johor palace will let Osman sink without a fight.

And the BN people will back him up too, I think.

It would be interesting if there is to be a state election in Johor as then the new tsunami, people have been talking about will really begin.

Well, I'm outstation now but will be driving back to KL tomorrow morning.

But my car can't fly....so, it's going to be a long drive.

Anyway, hopefully I can go down to Rantau again on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Maybe the campaign will get very interesting by then.

Racists' tactic

I think they are now getting quite desperate to defeat Mat Hasan in Rantau.

I'm quite sure they are the ones who put up all those racist banners in the hope of making the Indian voters angry and vote against BN.

It's quite obvious that they wanted to paint Mat Hasan as a racist.

This is their usual tactic, calling others racists while in actual fact, they are the ones who are racists of the highest order.

Things look good for BN in Rantau...for now

Previously, before the campaign started, I spent

• A day in Rantau

and yesterday, I was there again.

Just a day trip to see how's the campaigning so far.

I even managed to be at a function in Sendayan attended by Pakatan candidate Dr S.Streram.

It was the opening of a pasar malam, supposedly by the Negeri Sembilan MB.

However, the guy, who is from PKR didn't turn up and he instead just sent a representative. Quite weird I think because it was part of the Pakatan campaign. He should give more importance to it.

Anyway, I honestly think that this Streram is no match for Mat Hasan at all.

If I'm a Pakatan supporter, I believe I would be very depressed watching him. He can't even speak Bahasa Malaysia properly and is almost as bad as the Pakatan candidate in Cameron Highlands.

But then again, this is Malaysia Baru and maybe the Pakatan leadership, in particular Anwar still believed that they can win even if they put a banana tree as their candidate.

Yes, that despite what happened in Cameron Highlands and Semenyih.

Well, maybe they still believed that they can get all the non-Malay votes and at least 20 per cent of the Malays. Malays made up just 53 per cent of the voters in Rantau.

Okay, maybe Pakatan can get all the Chinese votes which made up about 17 per cent of the total votes.

I was informed that KJ who won the Rembau parliamentary constituency, which Rantau is a part of, hardly received any vote from among the Chinese during GE14 last year.

But still, I don't think Pakatan can get all the Indian votes as KJ did get some of them back then.

Then I was also told by the locals that Mat Hasan has always been very popular among many of the Indians in Rantau.

I believe this is true because on my first visit there, I stopped at his service centre and the majority of people seeking assistance from him that day were Indians.

He is after all known to be a very good wakil rakyat who cares for all his constituents.

Whatever it is, I found that Mat Hasan and his people appeared to be very careful about not being over-confident.

They were campaigning diligently and so far have not done any mistake.

The BN machinery appeared to be working very well too. Special mention should be for the Wanita Umno team as I think they were the most hardworking and efficient among the lot.

Another notable thing about the BN campaign is that it being spearheaded by locals, which I think is the best way to do it.

This is not so with Pakatan as their campaign workers appeared to be made up of mostly outsiders. For one thing, I don't think those ladies in red Pakatan t-shirt I saw at a mamak restaurant yesterday were Rantau folks. Some of them have their hair dyed a bit blonde.

Still, we can never say for certain how it's going to be on polling day.

But at this stage, I think Mat Hasan will win the Rantau seat for BN....unless of course if there is something very wrong with the people there.

I will go there again next week to see how things are before the final push to polling day.

Anwar's big little crooked trouble

I read this story just now

Analyst expects Rantau to determine Anwar’s future

and it reminds me of a rumour I heard a few days ago.

The rumour is about Anwar having a serious problem with his family members.

I can't tell everything here though, as it would make me a rumour monger, whom I am not.

Enough to say that Anwar is now in big trouble and if Pakatan loses in Rantau, it could be the end of him.

Anyone interested to know more should check where Anwar is staying of late.

Well, my friends in Dr Mahathir's camp are already celebrating it. Maybe you all can check it out with them.

Or maybe you all can check with Azmin, Zuraidah and others from the other PKR gang.

Okay, that's all I want to say about it.

I'm going to Rantau today to observe the campaign there.

Maybe I can bump into Anwar there, as he was said to be campaigning all out as if it's a do or die mission.

In my last post

Allah will give justice to Adib and his loved ones

I wrote

I told my angry friends to just pray for Allah to deliver that justice.

I didn't tell them to protest, demonstrate on the streets, vote against PH or anything like that.

I definitely didn't tell them to attack fire engines and beat up firemen.

I just told them to pray.

Annie sad to say there are a lot of idiots like you. You cannot see the truth even if it is starring at you. As Daim said, Malays are emotional and they can't think and come to a conclusion from the facts given. Forensic experts now point to the Bomba truck backing into the deceased. If you dont want to accept this then there is nothing anyone can do...just like accepting that Najib has done no wrong. The culprits like always will be the DAP Chinese or Christians.

Hey, I didn't mention anything about Malays, Indians, Chinese, DAP Chinese etc in that post , okay.

That's the thing with some people, they accused me of being a racist while they themselves who resorted to that sort of stuff.

Well, never mind.

As it is, being a Muslim, I believe when we are angry or unhappy about something, and we can't do anything about it, we just pray.

We don't do violent stuff.

Therefore in this Adib's case, we Muslims should just pray to Allah.

Let them think what they want or be as racist as they want.

We just don't be like them.

Allah will give justice to Adib and his loved ones

Several of my friends had expressed anger over what was happening at the inquest of arwah Adib.

They were also angry at the comments of those who were cheering the testimonies of "experts" at the inquest, as could be read at the comments section of portal reports.

They believe that there will be no justice for the deceased fireman and his loved ones as according to them the inquest is heading towards this narrative;

I told my friends to calm down and stop being foolish.

They were hoping for justice from the wrong place.

For me, I never expect the inquest to deliver justice from the very start and that's why I didn't write anything about it.

Why do they need such an inquest for this case after all?

I don't intend to comment on what transpired at the inquest even in this post.

As a Muslim, at the moment I believe only Allah can give justice to Adib and his loved ones.

I told my angry friends to just pray for Allah to deliver that justice.

Man-made laws, inquests or whatever can never deny justice from Allah.

In case we forget, this was what happened that night,

If the inquest wants to rule that these damages to the fire engine was because it hit Adib, let it does so;

Maybe after that they will get the IGP to apologise and retract this statement of his,

Whatever it is, as a Muslim, I believe that Adib is resting in a better place now and will be placed in jannah in the afterlife. As for those who caused his death and deny him justice in this world, they will rot in hell for eternity. This I believe with all of my heart.
