Pas retained its stronghold of Sungai Limau but lost more than half the majority it won in GE13 just six months ago.
Pas majority tonight is 1,084 compared to the 2,774 in May.
That's 1,690 votes less.
Bear in mind that Sungai Limau is the strongest Pas' fortress in Kedah. The late former MB Azizan Abdul Razak had been its assemblyman for 18 years. He had first won the seat in 1995.
The result in Sungai Limau also indicated a continuos slide of Pas grip in the area. Azizan had won more than 3,200 votes majority in 2008.
By comparison, BN won by a bigger majority of over 2,500 in Kuala Besut just three months ago.
Another interesting aspect of the outcome of the Sungai Limau by-election was the less than 30 per cent turn out of the about 1,800 Chinese voters.
Apparently the vitriol of Lim Kit Siang and his son Guan Eng failed to persuade the Chinese community to go out in full force to support Pas.
It has however yet to be known which side got the votes of the Chinese who turned out to vote.
Considering that about 85 per cent voters turned out to vote, it is safe to conclude that there is indeed a shift in the attitude of many, especially those who used to vote for Pas.
Voters turn out in Sungai Limau in May was about 89 per cent.
Now it's for Kedah BN, in particular Umno to push harder to win over constituencies made up of Malay majority such as Sungai Limau in future elections
Malays made up about 93 per cent of the 2,7222 voters in Sungai Limau.

Going back to the grind
Going to pack up later in the day for the trip back to KL.
It's been mostly a restful past one week.
Too bad that Lim Kit Siang spoiled it for me a few days ago when he attacked Dr Mahathir for no reason at all.
I felt compelled to post something about it here When an old man can't let go of his hatred
Then Kit Siang's son Guan Eng pulled his usual trick of Sowing hatred - Guan Eng style
I admit, I was quite stupid to layan all those DAP cybertroopers yesterday.
Just so geram la.
I should just ignore them and carry on with my holiday.
I wished I had sticked to writing nice things during my holiday. That was what I was doing before the Lim anak beranak started to poke their head in Sungai Limau to stir up their chauvinistic shit there.
Well, all done and said and nothing much I can do about it.
Whatever it is, I did manage to have a restful few days.
My coughing had gone, but I can still feel the chest pain from time to time.
My next medical check up will be before end of this month. Hopefully it's nothing serious.
Later on my way, I planned to stop by somewhere near Ipoh to buy some Tambun pomelo. They are my favorite.
There is a stall at the highway's R&R near Ipoh selling the fruit from which I like to buy them. The aunty who manned the stall would advice me which pomelo are sweet and which are sour. The sour ones are normally the nice looking ones. For all the Malay extremists who are reading my blog, let me tell you that the aunty is Chinese and she doesn't seem to be the cheating type. So, chill, okay.
Well, as usual, one song for the road, and cheers everyone.
BTW, in case you don't know, the singer is a devout Muslim.

Annie whacking BN/Umno for mistreating Chinese
As you may know by now, the Chinese of Malaysia are treated as merely second class citizens by the Malay-led Barisan Nasional government. They were treated like the Jews in Nazi Germany and blacks in apartheid-ruled South Africa.
They are being persecuted in every way by the evil Umno people.
If you don't believe me, you can read what Lim Guan Eng, the hero of the oppressed Chinese of Malaysia said about the whole thing here at Guan Eng style
As you all may know by now, as according to what Guan Eng said,
Chinese children in Malaysia are forced to study in their own schools and not allowed to mix with children of other races. Only in Malaysia that the Chinese were forced to have their own Chinese education system and their children were deprived of the basic necessities so that they become less intelligent than children of other races.
Here is a picture of Chinese school children at one of those dilapidated Chinese schools where they were forced to attend.
When the Chinese children grow up, they were not allowed to do a lot of things. They were not even allowed to have more than two children as part of Umno's evil plan to keep their population down. A lot of restrictions were also imposed on those who want to marry causing most of them to remain single. Chinese weddings were mostly a sad affair because the bride and groom do not have the money to properly celebrate. Guests were only served with air sirap kurang manis, because the evil BN government had revoked sugar subsidies causing Chinese Malaysians not able to afford to buy the basic item.
Chinese in Malaysia are also not allowed to do big business. They were only allowed to sell things such as goring pisang at stalls by the roadside. Malaysian Chinese who are involved in business mostly have to make do with lots of restrictions. They struggle to makes ends meet and whenever they meet each other they mostly do so at mamak restaurants.
Chinese in Malaysia were also not allowed to have big homes. Most of them live in squatter areas. Really I'm not lying.
They were also not allowed to worship as according to their religion. Their tamples were repeatedly demolished by the authorities.
And when a Malaysian Chinese died, the family were forced to spend ten of thousands of ringgit for the funeral.
Such was the fate of the Malaysian Chinese.
Now, you all BN and Umno people out there, how dare you all blame the Chinese for not supporting you all in GE13. You all are really evil people, you know that or nor?
P.S DAP cybertroopers, you all happy or not with this posting? I support Guan Eng's statement what this time.

Sowing hatred - Guan Eng style
These are excerpts form a Sungai Limau by-election report published yesterday by the rabidly pro-Pakatan website Malaysian Chronicles :
Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng laments that Umno often treats the Chinese minority in the country as "second class citizens".
In the 1,000-strong ‘Super Saturday’ dinner organised by Kedah DAP, Lim tells the Chinese community in Gurun that it is important for them to maintain their dignity.
"Don't vote for BN, let them know that we are still determined with our stance," he says to loud applause from the crowd. Most of them are Chinese, though not all are Sg Limau voters.
That's how Guan Eng and his DAP gang build up the GE13 Chinese tsunami.
They drummed it into the Chinese psyche that they were being systematically discriminated by the BN government by painting the picture as if the Chinese community is being treated at the same level as the blacks of South Africa during the apartheid regime.
The fact that the Chinese as a community being the most successful and prosperous in the country were never mentioned.
This style of inciting hatred had created legions of fanatics among the Chinese community.
This is one of them as cited by the same Malaysian Chronicle report :
Tan Eng Hua, 58, gives a black marker to Lim and requests him to ink his signature on his balding head during the DAP ‘Super Saturday’ dinner.
The crowd cheers as Lim scribbles his Chinese name on Tan’s scalp, drawing some attention from shutterbugs.
Tan, a rice dealer from Kampung Batu 17 in Sungai Limau, says he was struck with the idea when seeing Lim signing his name on the party's mascot Ubah.
"I'll not wash my hair until the end of polling day," he grins.
You may read further about the Guan Eng's and DAP hypocrisy at Helen Ang's :
Guan Eng: Umno treat Chinese like “second-class citizens”
Of course Guan Eng as usual replaced the word Malay with Umno during his speech. He has to maintain his angelic stature and mask his actual message of Chinese being discriminated by Malays.
But he knows, that his actual message does reaches the Chinese crowd - that they must topple the Malay-led BN government. Even the MCA and Gerakan members know this as they voted in large number for DAP and its allies in GE13.
That's the modus operandi, make the Chinese hate the Malays so that they would not vote BN no matter how much they got from the government.
PM Najib Razak tried his best to win over the Chinese before GE13. He gave them almost everything they asked him to give to the community.
But blood is thicker than water. The hate sowed by Guan Eng and his gang had already seeped deep in their brain.
At GE13, after all that Najib did, most of them spat at his face. A mere 10 or 15 per cent of the Chinese community voted for BN.
The DAP tactics of sowing hatred among the Chinese towards the Malays by attacking the Malay-led government works. They sweep almost all Chinese majority constituencies.
Anyone who highlighted this tactic by DAP were attacked relentlessly as being racists by its cybertroopers.
This is a typical comment by one of the many DAP cybertroopers who appeared to have make my blog their permanent hang out place :
And that comment came at my posting about my Chinese grandmother and got nothing to do with politics.
I expect more of those type of comments from the DAP cybertroopers in this posting.
They always come in droves whenever I write something about Guan Eng and his father.

When an old man can't let go of his hatred
Can't help but to write a bit after I saw this at NST SMS Alert,
NST 02/11: Kedah MB Mukhriz Mahathir expresses regret that DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang had smeared his father's name in Sungai Limau.
and decided to check the NST website
to find this story,
excerpts :
and Mukhriz's reply,
"My father had resigned from politics about 10 years ago but Lim is still around (in the country's political scene).
"He (Lim) claimed that my father has a large influence (in the political scene).
"But Lim is still a Member of Parliament and had made many allegations and remarks, which were baseless.
"I don't think we should entertain him (Lim)," he said after handing out monthly cost of living allowance and special aid to fishermen from Sungai Limau constituency here today.

Kit Siang accuses Dr M of being a bad influence
excerpts :
"(This by election) is a test to the influence of Tun Dr Mahathir. That is important, because he is playing an unhealthy role for the democracy and the development of the country.
"We want to see, especially in Kedah where Mukhriz is menteri besar. We want to see what is his (Dr Mahathir's) influence," Lim told reporters during a visit to Pekan Sungai Limau Dalam today.

Uncalled for Lim to smear my dad's name in Sungai Limau

A Chinese story 2 (edited)
Tried, but can't sleep.
It's past 1.30am.
HBO is playing the movie Barricade. But I'm not watching.
Switched off the air-cond just now. It's too cold.
Feel pain in my chest again every time I draw a deep breath. But I'm already used to it.
At least the coughing had stopped.
I have been avoiding the news.
Otherwise, I would be tempted to write something which may interest me.
I'm supposed to rest.
Whatever I wrote the past few days were whatever that crossed my mind....like what I'm writing now. They are nothing serious. Just light stuff.
Actually, I'm not really expecting anyone to read my last few postings.
They were really not written for any particular serious purpose.
I'm honestly not sure why they still attracted quite a number of DAP cybertroopers.
Can't they see that it's just me rambling along on my own.
Even when I wrote something about my grandmother, they still came here and make all sorts of noises.
Hey guys, I wrote that posting just because I miss my grandmother lah. There's nothing more to it than that.
Really, I got no bigger agenda behind those postings.
Well, I also miss my mother.
Last month, I only got to see her for a total of less than three hours.
Yes, when she was a kid, she slept on a wooden bench with her siblings under a rain tree as her mother fried kuey teow at her stall to earn a living....and yes, she is Chinese and an authentic one at that.
Not like some perasan high class banana Chinese, but a real Cina bukit one. She never changed her Chinese name after converting to Islam and marrying my father. And she still looks the typical Chinese lady. You wouldn't know from her look that she is a muslim and married to a Malay.
She dresses smart, something like this lady,
She is busy all the time though and hardly have time for me. But still, I'm proud of her.
I wish she can spend more time with me, but I know that she's a very important person at her work place and has to attend to lots of important things.
It has always been like that since I was a kid.
Those of you who have lots of time with your parents should better appreciate it. I really envy you all.
(Note: See, no politics. If the DAP cybertroopers still come here, then I wouldn't know what to say.)

A Chinese story
A long time ago, the Kluang bus station is located on the other side of the Mengkibol river before it was moved to the current site.
It's just an open space unlike the huge building it is now.
The old bus station was located not far from where the Kluang wet market used to be in the heart of the old part of the town.
There was a kopitiam on the right, a cinema in front across the road and some old buildings on the right which had been replaced by new buildings among which is the Mara building. At its back was the Mengkibol river.
The old bus station was then the nerve centre of the town. The bus services connected the town with three main destinations, Ayer Hitam and Batu Pahat, Renggam and Simpang Renggam and Mersing. Those who wanted to go any further had to take connecting buses at the other towns. This was before the existence of the express busses. Long distance traveling such as going to KL was mostly via the town's more famous railway station.
There were huge rain trees along the fringes of the bus station.
Under one of these trees used to be a hawker stall selling fried kuey teow.
It was operated by a very sweet lady.
She smiles a lot and has a very friendly disposition.
The lady worked very hard, getting up early in the morning and only came home late at night.
Most of the times she brought along her little children who at that time were yet to go to school as there was no one to look after them at home.
The children slept on a large wooden bench under the tree next to their mother's stall as they waited for her to finish work.
The lady's husband worked at construction sites in Singapore most of the time and only came home once a month.
He usually bought toys for their children whenever he came home.
Both, the lady and her husband love their children very much.
The lady's fried kuey teow was very popular and was said to be the best in town.
However, I never tasted its original version as one of her main ingredients was pork lard. Whenever I asked her to cook her fried kuey teow for me she would used a special wok and replaced the pork lard with extra dosage of sesame oil. It tastes very good despite not of her original recipe. She even kept a special plate and chopsticks for me.
The lady is also a very charitable person, giving what she could to charities, including those collected by Muslim organizations.
Every year she would set up her stall at the local Chinese school's fare where proceeds from her sale of fried kuey teow went to the school's fund meant for its upkeeps.
She paid all the necessary taxes arising from her small kuey teow business.
All her children went to school and completed their education without any government scholarship. She and her husband were very careful with their spendings so that they could finance most of their education. Their children grow up to become good people and relatively successful.
The lady's life used to be very tough but it's a decent and honest life.
She doesn't sells fried kuey teow anymore as she is now too old to do so.
She is now happily spending most of her time caring for her grandchildren. She is still the same sweet friendly lady of those years hawking under that rain tree.
Whenever I feel very angry with the Chinese, I try to recall the image of the lady frying kuey teow under the rain tree to earn a living, and her children sleeping on the nearby wooden bench, waiting for their mother to finish work. And I'm not angry anymore.
