Who cares about the Malay language and Najib chit chatting with Chinese ladies

In my last post, I asked for my friend Gondrong to write something more current rather than just ranting. So last night , he came up with this,

GUEST BLOGGER

By Si Gondrong

Bahasa Melayu dicabar lagi.

Satu persatu bahasa Melayu diuji.

Tapi tak lah bermakna sampai mahu mencabul bahasa kebangsaan kita iaitu bahasa Melayu.

Isu bahasa bukan isu politik.

Wallahuaklam

Okay la. Better a bit.

At least it's current.

Well, Gondrong is a very Malay guy.

He cares very much about these sort of stuff.

Me, I don't really care about such things.

I believe I can still survive if the Malays and their language become extinct.

I don't mind speaking Eskimo.

As it is, whether Malays and their language survive is up to Malays themselves.

If they can't even keep their shit together, then they don't deserve to have their language and culture around.

It's as simple as that.

Just live the Mat Salleh style lah. More class what. Speaks broken English also never mind.

Anyway, being Malay is associated with being very negative these days.

So backward. So corrupted. So Umno.

Whatever.

By the way, how come Najib is still so free walking around?

He doesn't seemed scared people are going to beat him up for being a thief and such as he was accused.

This is him having a chit chat with two Chinese ladies in front of Affin Bank in Wangsa Maju yesterday morning.

The lady wearing helmet was not holding him so that he can't run away while the lady in red was not trying to call the police to arrest him.

Really, they were just having a chit chat....in Bahasa Melayu, I think.

You can read the story here;

OKU Menangis Bila Nampak Wajah Najib

Well, that's what they wrote....don't know lah.

I think this was around the time Rosmah was being grilled at the MACC headquarters for 13 hours.

They better charge and find her guilty with something.

Otherwise a lot of people are not going to be very happy.

  1. Seems Najib was having some much needed "me time" since Rosmah was spending the whole day at MACC. He looks much happier but might just be a coincidence.

    1. Of course happy.

He is still President of Umno.

Zahid Hamidi may as well be a cardboard cut-out.

      This is Tun's comment:

"NEW YORK: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has predicted that Umno will collapse, saying that there is no future for the party.

“Umno is fragmented now, it is going to collapse. There is no future for Umno anymore because the people detest Umno.

"That is why they supported the opposition so strongly (in the recent general election),” the Pakatan Harapan chairman said.

Dr Mahathir made this remark in response to a question during a meeting with the US Council on Foreign Relations on whether a long-term investigation of Umno leaders would, at some point, create political instability in the country.

Asked how deep he felt corruption ran in Umno, Dr Mahathir replied that it ran very deep.

“He (former Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak) has undermined the leadership of the party and even the rank and file because he gave them money.

“So they supported him because some of them felt comfortable with more money,” Dr Mahathir said."

      He is right.

You think Tok Pa and Anifah are stupid?

They can clearly see what will happen to Umno.

      Completely without direction.

      The old crooks in charge.

      Worst of all...

Najib Razak is still President of Umno.

  2. I studied Jawi in Johor Baru. That's a significant fact. Because the city is in the state where Annie was born. (sigh).

I was once also on one of the DBP istilah committees. If today you use some of the terms from that istilah, my treat.

Back to the perspective. Si Gondrong has a point. Our Malay language is a beautiful language and its use should be preserved.

But the world has moved on. And the key challenge is poverty eradication subset of global relevance. The ground has also shifted. Our millennial generation are a practical-minded lot. Make money, accumulate assets, travel around the world, open eyes and mind, and get real.

You can't do any of these using the Malay language. In a world of seven billion, it has limited usage and, more importantly, negligible usability where know-how and do-what count.

Just ask any local job interviewer what are the key factors of appointing someone. And if you want a c-suite perspective: https://tinyurl.com/ycm7e34d

Earlier i have given you a link to a free database of millions of useful articles; few are in our Malay language. And none you will find in the other fire-walled databases containing cutting-edge stuff used to move commerce and industry, accelerate skills and innovate new products and services; you know, the sort of things we need the most to claw out of this financial black-hole.

And if we say the Germans, French, Japanese, Korean and even Chinese have progressed using their own languages so why not us, we must remember they were exposed to scientific and technical development for decades whereas we are only exposed, and that only recently, to yellow diamonds and crocodile-skin handbags, moreover both of foreign origin.

So..how will preserving our national language lift our poor especially our Malays out of their poverty trap in today's rapid-fire world of constant competition to remain relevant to global value-adding and thus industrialization and commercial trading when just trying to coin a single Malay language technical term for use in a specific segment of a general industry had taken months of rationalization?

One must realize to the core that we don't have a know-how engine embedded in our communities. Do we therefore have the luxury of time and sentimental frippery to dwell on the need to prioritise a language when there is so much else to do using other more relevant media, an existential situation which has been left fallow for over fifty years of forgettable existence because idiots only want to wax about politics in order to influence the Si Gondrong's away from realizing they are merely politicizing but for MONEY politics...and mostly for themselves?

Some may crawl out from under the rocks to say if we don't prioritize the language, the tsunami of change will erode it until future generations won't be able to use it and then our national identity retro-ed from our forefathers of this land will evaporate forever and ever (and "yes, i do").

Well, excuse me. What is our national identity today if we can't even improve a simple thing like spicing up the backdrops for photo-taking of starry-eyed couples in marriage registration offices? Funeral parlors look more ornate and appropriate.

Let us here and now banish the ad-hominoids a-comin'. If a language is any good and relevant, it will come back on its own soon enough. Like a good broken cuppa in those old coffee-shops with broken furniture mintly branded with new story-lines of yonder days of lore.

And if it doesn't, who is anyone to decide on behalf of the millions who need to survive in order to later be able to appreciate it to want it back?

      Excellent point.

      Practicality vs. Sentiment.

All the Umno & PAS leaders use iPhones, I'm sure.

Created by the evil Yahudi-loving neo-colonial Americans.

But my objective: make phone calls etc etc.

So what if the "tool" is from USA, Korea, Japan? (Don't use China phones, lah. Terrible quality.)

If I need to advance a country, and I need to use English, German, Japanese language or whatever, then so be it.

Unless our Language Heroes are willing to work 7,000 times harder, all new technical knowledge will be in English, German, Japanese, etc.

And the world will move on and leave Malaysia behind.

    Poor, poor Annie.

You Umno bloggers are just like Umno.

No new ideas, no new tactics.

I actually pity you a lot.

Still selling the same outdated bullshit of Umno = Malays = Umno.

    Yawn.

It’s so important to be accurate, right?

Let me write it again for accuracy:

"Anyway, being Umno is associated with being very negative these days. So backward. So corrupted. So Umno. Whatever."

    See the difference?

By the way, you want to explain to your dear readers while Azeez Baling is wearing the orange uniform?

It’s because he used Tabung Haji funds to bail out 1MDB via a shell company called Putra Perdana. The money went into the account of a certain Najib Razak.

    How surprising : )

Then it also started crying tears of joy and gratitude.

    Really.

Anyway, I think you Umno bloggers need to decide how long you want to carry the pinklips pirate’s balls.

Even Umno leaders - some of them - know that this strategy is doomed to fail.

After all, what is forensic evidence?

    1) Transactions from Prime Minister Najib’s AmBank account 211202211906 reveal that one of the beneficiaries of this money, which came from 1MDB subsidiary SRC International, was his son. On 4th July 2014 RM200,000 was cashed out to Nor Ashman Razak.

    2) On the SRC credit card (hence, money from KWAP): EUR750,000 (RM4.091 million) at an Italian branch of Swiss-owned jewellery store De Grisogono (in one visit) and USD130,635 (RM534,297) at Chanel in Hawaii (in one visit).

    3) From same account, RM167,959.50 spent at Signature Exotic Cars Sdn Bhd on 28th June 2011; RM104,110.69 at Telagamas Motors Sdn Bhd 26th Sept 2012; RM947,178.70 at Angkatan Hebat Motor Sdn Bhd 9th October 2012; RM105,000 at Naza Quest Auto Sdn Bhd 17th December 2012; a staggering RM2,496,000.00 at Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd on 27th February 2013 and another RM146,801.30 and RM155,779.00 also spent at Edaran Tan Chong on 7th February 2014 and 23rd September 2014 respectively.

    Takpe lah Annie.

He replaces Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin who resigned on June 1.

According to the statement, Mohd Nageeb has 39 years of experience in the agriculture, rubber, and palm oil industry, where he started his career as an agriculture executive trainee in KL Kepong Bhd in 1979.

He was previously Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd vice-president.

Mohd Nageed is currently Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA) chief executive officer and the Malaysian representative to the International Tripartite Rubber Council (ITRC)."

I am no parasite living off the sweat of other Malaysians.

    I pay my taxes.
