My blogging sister Helen Ang has come out with all guns blazing over my post,

I think Helen is angry with me again.

The last time she seemed to be really angry with me was this one,

This time she even cited my posting which I wrote after an emotional night of the 13th general election,

The end of moderation

to stressed on the need for Johor Umno to get rid of all who may not be 100 per cent in agreement with the current party leadership.

Actually I have toned down quite a bit since I wrote that emotional post-election posting.

It was something like what Utusan asked the day after the 13th general election : "Apa lagi Cina mau?"

Well, never mind, I still believe that the Chinese votes, at least in Johor, are still with the opposition.

The more reason why I think Johor Umno cannot afford to be gung-ho and cut off any of the Malays who are not supportive of PM DS Najib Razak.

As I previously wrote, there are those who still love Umno and want to vote for BN even though they no longer like Najib.

If Johor Umno cut off these people, then i think it will have very serious problems in the next general election.

I also think that the possible cooperation between Umno and Pas will not help BN much in Johor.

Pas was never much of a force in the state.

In the last general election, their main function in Pakatan as far as Johor was concerned was to break up the Malay votes bank which is Umno's safe deposit.

Furthermore, many of top Johor Pas leaders are already with Amanah.

Being on the ground in Johor for quite a while, I noticed that Pas members in the state are not actually of the same mentality as those in Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.

They are not so fanatical in their support for the Islamist party.

I believe quite a number of them have crossed over to Amanah along with the likes of Salahuddin Ayub and Suhaizan Kayat.

They are a bit like Helen herself, who used to support the opposition but crossed over when she found out that BN is a better choice.

Helen also pointed to this, 

As a comparison, Batu Pahat – lost by Umno’s then Deputy Education Minister Puad Zarkashi – has 46 percent Chinese voters. Puad’s opponent had a winning majority of1,732 votes.

I think it's to indicate that the opposition had also won by a slim majority in certain marginal constituencies.

Actually Batu Pahat should had been won by BN if the Umno headquarters had listened to the Johor Umno's proposal to change the candidate there before the general election.

It was lost because the Malay votes bank there was fractured because Puad was still fielded despite indicators which suggested that he was not very well liked not only by the Chinese but also many Malays who were uncomfortable with his rather aggressive right-wing style.

The key in Johor has always been Malay unity under Umno.

If that unity is broken, then DAP will have its wish of taking over that state, the third richest in the country after Selangor and Penang (which are already theirs).

I believe that Helen's suggestion for Johor Umno to cut off its members and Malay fence sitters who have been supportive of Umno but dislike Najib over the recent controversies will achieve exactly that.

Bear in mind that the Chinese who made up about 40 per cent of Johoreans are still more or less solid behind DAP.

My opinion is that Johor Umno may be able to stop being moderate with the Chinese voters but they can't afford to do so with the Malays, even those who can't seem to agree with the party leadership.

But then again, who am I to dispute my blogging sister Helen who is a better blogger than myself.

I can't even come up with a nice chart to support my arguments like her.

I also can't even write a long posting with fancy and grammatically correct words without getting a headache.

So, Johor MB DS Khaled Nordin and his boys in Kota Iskandar should follow Helen's advise and start cutting off people who love Umno but refuse to support its leadership.

Okay, my dear sister Helen, you win, I lose.

A song to remember

Tomorrow is the last day of the year.

I will remember this year mostly for the Umno rebellion.

The ripple effects, I believe, will be felt for years to come.

The rebellion also affect my personal life in a big way.

After tomorrow, I will be shifting to adapt to all the changes.

Just going back to basics but lots need to be done.

Wish I don't have to, but I have no choice in this matter.

Can't go on the way it is now.

Well, still one more day to go.

Just want to be cool for now and enjoy what's left there is to it.

Johor Umno has no need for gung-ho soundbites

No retreat, no surrender.

Either you are with us or against us.

Hero of the day was Kempas assemblyman Tengku Putra Haron Aminurrashid bin Tan Sri Tengku Hamid Jumat 

The guy believes in all that.

He is also the one highlighted by A Voice in his posting

You are either with us or against us

of which I had stated my disagreement.

Previously, I wrote that I don't want to disturb Johor Umno anymore because it only has two and a half years to repair things in the state before the next general election.

But Helen's posting today compelled me to write this post about my home state.

Let me start by telling you all that I spent more than 80 per cent of my time between the general elections of 2008 and 2013 in Johor.

I was most of the time on the ground during that period, closely observing how Johor Umno was preparing the defence of the state.

By the way, as some have already know by now, I'm a Johorean.

Based on my experience in the State back then , I'm afraid it would be disastrous if the Johor Umno leadership adopt the gung-ho approach as championed by the Kempas assemblyman.

I highlighted that,

My reading of Johor at the moment is that, the state will still be in BN's hand after the next general election but the coalition will lose its two third majority in the state assembly while more parliamentary seats (up to 14 from the current five) will go to the opposition.

There are a total of 25 parliamentary seats in Johor.

Current opposition's parliamentary seats in Johor are DAP's Gelang Patah, Kulai, Kluang and Bakri as well as PKR's Batu Pahat.

The parliamentary seats which are in danger of falling to the opposition in the next general election are Ledang, Segamat, Labis, Muar, Tanjong Piai, Johor Baru, Pulai, Tebrau and Khaled's own base of Pasir Gudang.

BN's majority of over 20,000 in Pasir Gudang during the general election in 2008 was reduced to less than 1,000 in 2013.


And these are BN's 25 parliamentary constituencies which are in most serious danger of falling to the opposition in the next general election.

Those 25 are parliamentary seats won by BN with less than 2,000 majority in 2013.

Six of them are in Johor.

They are Ledang (Umno - 1,967), Tebrau (MCA - 1,767), Muar (Umno - 1,646), Segamat (MIC - 1,217), Pasir Gudang (Umno - 935), and Labis (MCA - 353).

Those from my earlier list not in this line up are the five Johor parliamentary constituencies already won by the opposition along with Tanjong Piai, Johor Baru and Pulai.

Wee Jack Seng won in Tanjong Piai with a majority of 5,457 in 2013. He won by a majority of 12,371 in 2008.
Shahrir Samad won in Johor Baru with a majority of 10,415 in 2013. He won by a majority of 25,349 in 2008.
Nurjazlan Mohamed won in Pulai with a majority of  3,226 in 2013. He won by a majority of 20,449
 in 2008.

Well, you may think that Shahrir's seat in JB is safe because of his over 10,000 majority but bear in mind that the man will be over 70 years old in the next general election and he has no successor in sight. If he can lose about 15,000 majority in the last general election, it may not be impossible that he can lose another 10,000 in the next one. After all, the Malays who enabled him to win in JB are the so-called urban Malays. They are the ones that some Umno people think the party can afford to ignore as they believe their support comes from mostly rural Malays.

As for Wee and Nurjazlan, you all can see that they have lost a huge chunk of their majority. Knowing the ground at their constituencies, I tend to say there is no guarantee that they are not going to lose whatever left they have in the next general election.

So how Johor Umno?

Still think it's better to have a policy of "either you are with us or against us"?

Still want to chop off those who still love Umno but not in the bandwagon of PM DS Najib Razak?

I'm quite sure Johor MB DS Mohamed Khaled Nordin would not be very comfortable if you all ask him that question.

As for our hero Tengku Putra Haron Aminurrashid bin Tan Sri Tengku Hamid Jumat, this is the electoral results of his Kempas state constituency,

He won by a majority of 3,947 in 2013. His predecessor, Osman Sapian won by a majority of 8,186 in 2008.

Actually, it could be worse.

Let me tell you the reason why I said that.

Kempas state constituency is part of Nurjazlan's Pulai parliamentary area.

Back then before the 2013 general election, Nurjazlan was having problems with the right wing members of Umno in his constituency.

Most of them are Perkasa members.

Well, the rather liberal Nurjazlan is after all biologically just a quarter Malay.

But to his credit, the chubby handsome guy didn't go super macho and declare "either you are with us or against us" nor did he try to crush the dastardly Perkasa gang.

He instead invited the now evil Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to his constituency for a gathering with mostly the Perkasa boys.

As a safety precaution, Nurjazlan brought along his mother to that gathering which was held somewhere in Kempas.

It was said that Dr Mahathir have a soft spot for Nurjazlan's mother and her presence was a guarantee that the handsome old man would not do funny things like turning against him at the gathering.

The whole thing went well and the problem between Nurjazlan and the Perkasa gang was solved.

That basically solidify Malays' support for BN in Pulai and prevented the constituency from falling to the opposition despite the loss of almost 17,000 of Nurjazlan's majority.

If not for that, I suspect everything including the Kempas assemblyman could had been swept away by the Chinese tsunami.

At that time I didn't know who is Tengku Putra Haron Aminurrashid bin Tan Sri Tengku Hamid Jumat.

What I knew was that Johor Umno had in the run up to the general election chose for its hard working liaison executive secretary Ramli Buhani to replace Osman Sapian in Kempas.

I only actually heard the name of Tengku Putra Haron Aminurrashid bin Tan Sri Tengku Hamid Jumat on nomination day.

He was said to be chosen for Kempas by Najib himself.

Honestly, I got nothing against him except now that I disagree with all those macho talks.

Johor Umno that I knew didn't rely on being macho or gung-ho to win elections.

It relies on being dignified, service-oriented and upholding good values to win over the hearts and minds of the people, especially the Johor Malays.

I once heard Khaled said that 83 per cent of Malays in the state voted for BN in the last general election, which was why the state didn't fall to the opposition despite the massive Chinese tsunami on polling day.

I agree with him.

Next time, I will write about how such a high percentage of Johor Malays' support could be achieved by Umno for BN in the state.

For now, I just hope everyone including Helen can stop making nonsensical soundbites such as

That's not how Johor was made the tiang seri of the party.

But just now, I saw A Voice's posting,
Giving a chance avoid the difficult choice

A Voice said he was surprised by my reaction to his earlier posting,

I was against such an attitude and you can read what I think about it here,
Crushing the rebels...and everyone else

A Voice is my senior in blogging and I always respect my seniors.

However, I stand by my opinion that Umno and it's BN allies cannot win the next general election if the people of PM DS Najib Razak have their way of crushing people who refused to jump onto their "bandwagon".

I believe there are more neutral people out there than those who enjoy being on anyone's bandwagon.

For me, to reject them is being arrogant and not the right thing to do.

I'm of the opinion that if Najib wants to be magnanimous as he said at the recent Umno general assembly, then he should make the effort to win back the support of not only the neutrals but also those who oppose him.

I think it will only backfires if he choose to force everyone to get on his bandwagon at this stage.

I know it's not easy, but he is a leader and being a leader, he should know what needs to be done to reduce the trust deficit.

I believe that there are many out there who despite their unhappiness with Najib, would still want Umno to survive the next general election.

It will be silly to lose the support of those people by being gung ho and threatening them with things such as "You are either with us or against us".

For me, in order for the Najib's camp to win back people's trust, they need to be seen as being better than their rivals.

People don't like those who go around threatening them.

They will just quietly give you the middle finger and wait for the next general election.

But as I said in my previous posting, if the Najib's people think I'm just being a silly stupid woman, than fine, they can go ahead and proceed with their macho "you are either with us or against us".

I will not say anything anymore.

As  for A Voice's assertion that,

"Tun Dr Mahathir is a known practitioner of Sun Tzu's Art of War and Niccolo Machiavelli's Il Principe. The two works is nothing compared to W Bush."

and that,

"It should be OK to Annie because he is a handsome 90 year old and watch Star War recently at the movie theatre."

I have to say that during Dr Mahathir's premiership, Umno and BN were strong. They won the general elections with a two thirds majority without fail.

In contrast, at this moment they don't command the same amount of support from the people.

They barely made it in the last general election and even managed to lose the popular votes.

And that was when all of us pro-establishment people, including the now evil Dr Mahathir were united behind Najib.

Therefore, I don't think it's very smart to lose even more support by unnecessarily cutting off people who rather not join the Najib's bandwagon now.

Why can't everyone be focused at making peace instead?

Isn't it better to be focused on winning the general election rather than going around crushing your own friends who are not on the bandwagon?

Even the neutrals?

Do you all sincerely believe that will make Umno stronger to face the next general election?

Again, if you do, then go ahead and do it.

Make the great Umno secretary-general DS Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansur declares "YOU ARE EITHER WITH US OR AGAINST US!"

See what happened.

As for the Sultan Johor's interview with The Star,

Well, all I want to say is that....Who am I to comment on what Sultan of Johor said.

Anyway, good for DS Wong Chun Wai to get that exclusive interview with the Ruler of my home State.

I'm sure The Star will do very well in the Umno-bastion of Johor after this.

Better circulation and advertisement revenue from Johor, I guess.

May the weather remains nice

Spent most of yesterday sleeping.

It's nice to laze around once in a while.

The weather was nice.

I took this picture from under a bunch of bamboo trees in the afternoon,

It's however now raining from time to time since late evening.

I don't like rain, especially at night.

Hopefully it will not worsen.

I remember that the rain got very heavy after Christmas last year.

It led to a major flood.

Back then, I did my bits to help around.

In flooded area and pondering how to make things better

The situation was quite bad.

Tens of thousands were evacuated and so many roads including the East Coast Highway were cut off by the flood.

PM DS Najib Razak came under severe attack at that time because he was in Hawaii playing golf with US president Obama.

That was before the Umno civil war a few months later.

I was defending him, causing many to be angry with me.

But I always try to do what I think is right.

I don't believe Najib should be savaged like that back then as no one really expected the flood to get that bad.

What ever it is, my intention has never been to be popular.

During the civil war, I thought being neutral was the right thing to do.

Taking side will only worsen the whole thing.

That's how I see it.

Of course I got whacked by both sides.

But it's okay.

That's part of what I have to put up with as a blogger.

Anyway, I'm now somewhere in the east coast.

On my way here on Wednesday,  I came across a convoy of four-wheel-drive vehicles carrying boats and equipment, likely for flood relief operation.

They were from the Civil Defence Department.

I guess they were making the necessary preparations in case there will be another major flood.

Good of the authorities to be more ready this time.

Nonetheless, I still hope the weather will be kind and we don't have to go through another disaster like last year.

Riding back to KL on Sunday.

Wish I don't have to.

It's so nice here.

Very peaceful.

But I have to earn a living and that's in KL.

Okay, I'm going back to sleep.

Christmas and what it's all about

It's Christmas eve.

Everyone I know seem to be celebrating it, including the non-Christians among them.

Not some anti-Christian stuff or anything like that.

I just believe that we should try to learn more about something that we see or experienced.

Reading is a good way to do that.

I don't celebrate Christmas despite some friends insisting that I can actually enjoy a "secular Christmas".

But I'm okay with the celebrations even if the celebrants are non-Christians.

It's for fun, okay.

People should be free to do that.

Despite not celebrating it, I wish my Christian friends a "Merry Christmas", and when my ex wished me that two days ago, I wished him back the same.

He's not a Christian but he is celebrating the occasion in Singapore with his family.

It's the usual end year get together occasion for them.

They are actually Taoists....officially.

His new girlfriend whom I also believe is not a Christian will also be there.

When I used to be his GF, I refused to join him in celebrating the occasion because I was taught that being a Muslim, I'm not supposed to do so.

Maybe I was wrong.

Maybe if I was more flexible he would not chose to be with someone else.

Sometimes I wish I was more flexible.

But it's okay. What was done, is done.

Anyway, there are many ways people celebrate Christmas.

This is a nice story for the current holiday mood.

Dr Mahathir surprises moviegoers at Star Wars screening

Those two never cease to amaze me.

I wish when I'm 90 years old, I can still watch a movie with my beloved.

Well, not likely.

I think Marlboro Light will kill me first before I come even close to that age....and I don't think I'll have my beloved.

Haha....never mind.

Back to Dr Mahathir....eeerrr, judging by him enjoying himself at the cinema, I guess he's not very unhappy with all the reports that his rebellion against PM DS Najib Razak has failed.

That's nice.

He doesn't seems depressed or angry.

Not even grumpy or sulking.

I guess he must have told himself that at least he tried and will continue trying.

As for the outcome, let Allah decides.

We must redha (accept) with the decision of the almighty.

Don't meroyan (go crazy).

I think all the Umno rebels should be like Dr Mahathir.

Be cool.

You all tried and can keep on trying but don't become too bitter or angry if you are not successful.

Let Allah take care of the rest.

Yang pentingnya kita kena berusaha yang terbaik dan ikhlas (The important thing is for us to put our best effort and be sincere).

It's all that really matter.

If you rebelled against Najib because you truly love your agama, bangsa and tanah air, then Allah will reward you one way or another even if your side loses the fight.

But if you rebelled against Najib out of malice or due to some personal unhappiness, then I think you deserve to lose the fight.

I think Dr Mahathir is sincere.

I think he is doing it because he truly loves the country.

That's  why he seems still okay and can watch Star Wars with Dr Siti Hasmah despite everyone saying that he already lost the fight against Najib.

His conscience seems clear.

The outcome actually doesn't really matter.

Everyone should do what seems to be right....and do it with a clean and sincere heart.

That's what really matter.

And meanwhile, we should enjoy the life that Allah gave us.

Just like what Dr Mahathir is doing.

I had a very good laugh this afternoon.

A friend was telling me about the antics of a former Johor DAP leader who can't seems to make up his mind whether to love or hate his former party.

It's quite pathetic, actually.

I mean, if the party had kicked your ass, you just go away la.

Why still acting as if you are still so in love with the party which clearly think that you are just a stupid pariah?

Hmmm...maybe this guy is a real pariah....I don't know.

After all, I have to give it to Guan Eng and gang that they are quite good at detecting such garbage.

I really don't understand why this guy is still making so much noise about DAP on his Facebook page and blog which no one really bothered to read.

He should write about other things.

Write la about how Johoreans can make their state better or something like that.

Join an NGO also can, okay.

Or maybe he can write about all the drinking joints in JB where people can drown their sorrow after being kicked out of their beloved party.

I'm glad that my favourite DAP guy Dr Boo Cheng Hau didn't end up like that guy after Guan Eng's people took total control of the party in Johor.

Dr Boo seems to be quite cool over the whole thing.

Unlike that meroyan (going crazy) DAP guy,  Dr Boo had been relatively composed.

I know he was angry too but he understand that there's nothing he can do about it.

It's just the DAP's way of doing business.

If you are not part of the Lim dynasty's future plan, then you have to go.

Well, at least Dr Boo still have his Skudai state seat till end of this term.

The meroyan guy doesn't even have anything anymore.

Now he is acting like a husband who got divorced by his wife and now all mad with jealousy because the bitch is sleeping with someone else.

The Melayu call it "gila talak" or something like that.

It's actually his own fault.

Being a non-Chinese, he should know his place in DAP.

If he is handsome like all those sons of the late Karpal Singh, then different story lah.

This one, ugly like the bottom of a wok still want to make so much noise.

Don't la make so many stupid statements.

Now after getting kicked out, still making stupid statements.

Real moron.

Well, just want to share that with you all.

I hope all those sacked Umno people don't end up like that kicked out former Johor DAP leader.

Just try to do good and be sincere about it.

That's good enough I think.

Of course no money or glamour lah that way.

But really. It's very much better.

I enjoy the freedom more than anything else.

I don't have to worry about getting sacked by someone like Ku Nan.

Saw this posting by A Voice just now

"You are either with us or against us"

and told myself that if that's how the supporters of DS Najib Razak want it, then they would likely consider me as an enemy.

I believe I had been relatively neutral as far as the Umno civil war is concerned.

Going by the logic of Umno adopting that George W Bush's doctrine, then I should be treated as an enemy of Umno.

Being a neutral is being an enemy under that doctrine.

Well, that's too bad.

At the start of the rebellion, I posted this,

I wrote the second one as an advice to a rebel not to adopt the "you are either with us or against us" attitude.

I believe it's not an attitude which can win a war.

I think George Bush was wrong.

Americans didn't win the war in Iraq or Afghanistan.

They killed a lot of people but they didn't win the war or even win the hearts and minds of people.

Iraq and Afghanistan is still at war and those two countries may likely end up being ruled by people who hate America more than those the Americans tried to bomb back to the stone age when they started the war more than a decade ago.

And I believe many more people hate America now than back then before they rain Tomahawk missiles and carpet bombed Saddam Hussein's people and the Taliban.

I don't believe that PM DS Najib Razak will win by being another George Bush.

Why do his people want to make people like me their enemies?

As I wrote before, Barisan Nasional barely won the last general election in 2013.

At that time people like me and also those who are now rebelling against Najib are all going all out to support him.

Despite that BN even lost the popular votes.

What makes the Najib loyalists now think that they can pull it off by themselves in the next general election without the help of the neutrals and winning back those rebels.

Does crushing everyone else help win support for Umno and BN?

Maybe they think the warming relations with Pas will soon enable them to do it.

If that's the case, then I think they should go ahead with it.

Go ahead and crush people like me.

After that, let's see whether people like me or the Pas people are kinder to Umno.

One thing for sure, I never regard the over 3 million Umno members as infidels or jahilliah or anything like that.

But if the Najib's loyalists think, it's better for them to do that, then go ahead and do it, okay.

Malay Muslims unity - possible scenario post-GE14

There has been quite a bit of excitement over the recent development related to Umno-Pas relations.

Presidents of both parties, DS Najib Razak and DS Abdul Hadi Awang had both talked about unity of the Malay Muslims on the same stage.

Zahid says too early to interpret Najib-Hadi meeting

Well, the Umno vice-president may be right on that one, but I don't think what he said will stop people from talking about Umno and Pas working together, especially for the next general election.

I think the possibility of a cooperation between the two Malay Muslims parties is real and this can ends up in the formation of an alliance comprising Barisan Nasional and Pas.

Pas may not want to join BN but it may cooperate in the alliance by striking a deal in the choice of constituencies to be contested.

I think that should be the case in order to avoid discomfort among non-Malay Muslims parties within BN which may not be too enthusiastic to have the Islamist party in their rank.

In return, Pas may likely get some quite sweet deals from BN.

If the potential BN-Pas alliance really comes true, then the following scenario may be in store for the country after the next general election.

1. The state governments of Perlis, Malacca, Johor, Pahang and Sabah will be led by Umno (BN).

2. The state governments of Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan will be led by Pas.

3. The state government of Sarawak will be led by PBB (BN).

4. The state government of Penang will be led by DAP.

5. The state government of Selangor will be led by PKR.

6. Most parliamentary seats in the Federal Territory will be Pakatan's.

7. It is going to be 50-50 between Pakatan and BN in Perak and Negeri Sembilan. I can't say for sure who are going to win in these two states.


Special mention:

Kedah
Umno may likely want to remove current MB DS Mukhriz Mahathir due to his rebel tag. But this will prove to be difficult if it wants to strike a deal with Kedah Pas. Mukhriz is known to be well liked even among Pas members in the state. It will be difficult for them to accept any other Umno's MB candidate. The only way Umno may get around this is by offering Pas the post. A BN-Pas alliance will certainly be a winner in this state.

Penang
DAP will still rule supreme in the state even if they face a BN-Pas alliance. PKR and Amanah can count on their big brother DAP to boost their chances in the state. Nonetheless, BN and Pas candidates may win more seats than in the last general election, particularly in Seberang Prai.

Perak
Pas may not be able to help BN much in this state. Most of its strength has deserted to join Amanah. However Pakatan will not be at the same strength as in the previous general elections if Pas combines what's left of its forces in the state with BN.

Selangor
The Klang Valley is the base of the opposition against the establishment. I think the opposition will be able to hold on to this state. A BN-Pas alliance will not make much of a difference here. On top of it, Umno is in such a sorry state in Selangor that it will not be able to mount a credible challenge. Similarly Selangor Pas would not be much of a force without the votes of the non-Malay Muslims.

Federal Territory
It's going to be the same as Selangor. Most of the parliament seats of FT will still be with Pakatan. A BN-Pas alliance will mean little in the urban areas. Even more so with BN not very good at handling issues such as the Kampung Datuk Keramat affordable housing project. DAP to have the most seats.

Negeri Sembilan
It's going to be almost the same as Perak. BN, with Pas help may be able to win but not by much. It's likely going to continue being a two or three seats difference in the state assembly.

Johor
Most Johor Pas leaders have left the party to join Amanah. Therefore the alliance with BN will not make much an impact in the State. I have a feeling that Johor Umno and its current allies in the state are not really interested in such a cooperation. They may even feel that Pas will just be a burden to them. BN's immediate problem in Johor is on how to improve support among it's almost 40 per cent Chinese population. BN likely to retain the state but may lose more parliamentary seats.

Terengganu
Umno may likely give the MB post to Pas to lubricate the deal between the two parties. It has always been 50-50 between them anyway. Also, Terengganu Umno is not in the best of shape lately.

At the Parliament
BN may most likely form a coalition government with Pas. They will have a simple majority in Parliament. Najib will continue as PM with Hadi as his deputy.

Lies just piss off and turn around people

I think if we disagree or dislike someone or something we should state facts to support our opinion.

We shouldn't lie or come up with fictional stories and say they are factual stories.

Maybe joking or being sarcastic is okay, but don't la make it as if it's a statement of facts.

In the instance of FGV, I think the attacks against it has reached a new low.

Apparently those who want to see FGV fail had resorted to spreading lies.

Reacting to bullies and liars

I know that Tinsel who operates the blog has never been a real supporter of FGV, but from that posting, I believe that she has turned the other way around.

She can't seems to tolerate the bullying and lying tactics of those who want FGV to fail.

It's true that FGV has its shares of troubles but from what I gathered, they are trying to improve things.

To continue criticising it is okay but I don't think bullying and lying about it is right.

Those tactics are wrong even if you are in the right.

They simply put off people.

As I have always argue, it's not just about whether your stand is right but also how you make your stand.

Even if your intention and objective is right but if you try to achieve it the wrong way, then your effort will end up futile.

The end doesn't justify the means.

In the case of FGV, the fate of that company carries the interests of so many people including thousands of Felda settlers.

So, I think we should bear in mind the repercussions on all those people if we lie about it just so that we can satisfy ourselves by seeing it fails.

A question to Christians

I'm a Muslim but not a religious one.

I don't go around searching for religious materials to read or watch.

Normally I even avoid them as I'm afraid of reading or watching the wrong ones..

I also avoid discussing religion because I don't feel I'm qualified to do so.

I totally avoid debating religion.

I know that there are many crazy religious people out there and I suspect they are actually more clever than myself.

Knowing that I'm not very good with religious stuff, I try to avoid interacting with them as I'm scared of ending up being like them.

My parents are not very religious too.

As a Muslim, I follow as much as I can what I was thought of my religion when I was growing up.

I attended the Sekolah Agama Johor up to standard five.

So, what happened yesterday was totally by accident.

I was searching for some entertainment materials in YouTube  when I came across a video about the recent City Harvest Church scandal in Singapore.

It was the way the video was presented that made me paused and think what's wrong with these religious people.

After watching that clip, I started to go through other religious videos just to find an answer to what happened to those people.

Then I came across this video which made me think about something else,

The old man said there was not a single verse in the Bible which indicates that Jesus had ever claimed out right that he was God.

Is this right? If so, why?

I hope there is a Christian among readers of this blog who could explain that to me.

I'm not trying to debate about it but just want some explanation.

To all commentators, please be polite and nice on this one. I will not allow comments which are insulting or rude.

PR1MA fights back powerful housing cartel

Last night I called a friend who works at PR1MA and advised him that the state-own property developer should answer some allegations in an article published by Malay Mail Online.

The news portal has quoted some "property guru" as saying the PR1MA project is "a total failure".

My friend said PR1MA would definitely do so.

To my pleasant surprise, the PR1MA team actually responded to the accusations with a statement just an hour or two later.

That was fast.

MalayMail Online published the reply by PR1MA early this morning.

PR1MA answers “reckless allegations” by property consultants

Well, it's good that PR1MA was able to quickly diffuse the situation.

Normally, these kind of attacks would take quite a while for others on the government's side to reply.

Such "reckless allegations" would fester as the answers came very late.

And after a while, despite being false, they shaped the people's perception.

By that time the explanation comes about, the people have already formed their opinion and it would be very difficult to convince them otherwise.

Managing the flow of information is very important.

As for PR1MA, this is not the first time it has came under attack.

For instance, in October, last year there was an issue raised against PR1MA.

The attack was led by the National House Buyers Association  which claimed that PR1MA was not helping prospective home owners because it works with other contractors to develop their projects.

The best rebuttal to that was by BIGCAT in one of her postings

Tinsel, who operates the blog once explained to me that she believes there's a "cartel" controlling EVERYTHING in the housing industry.

The cartel is in fact so powerful that even the ministry in charge of the sector was helpless to fight it.

This cartel has a huge war chest and can even use both  the mainstream and social media, to fight anyone who try to challenge their monopoly of the industry.

I suspect the article against PR1MA quoting the so-called "property guru" yesterday was the cartel's work.

Players of the cartel see PR1MA as a threat from the start.

It's because PR1MA is set to break their monopoly and end the soaring house pricing which is currently already at a ridiculous level.

Tinsel told me back then that she suspected the cartel had even designed the high prices of property in certain areas to create "enclaves" where only a certain race could afford to buy the houses there.

Indications were that the cartel will throw more dirts at PR1MA to discredit its objective of providing affordable housing for the people.

We can expect more attacks against PR1MA soon.

Hopefully my friend and his colleagues there will continue to be on their toes.

They should fight back when attacked like they did over these past 24 hours.

Well, this one is a war worth fighting for.

Only yesterday

I'm supremely bored today.

Nothing that I'm trying to do can be done for now.

So, I'm just sitting here watching some anime since morning.

Anime is a major source of inspiration for me.

Well, that actually makes it not entirely not working for me because I will later on apply what I learned from the anime into my work.

My work needs me to be a bit more creative than the ordinary men on the street.

Need all the inspiration I can get to be creative.

Only took a break when my boss asked me to join her for lunch.

My boss is nice.

I'm purposely not reading anything today.

Trying not to be tempted to write about what is happening in the real world.

Especially politics.

Don't want to get depressed worrying what this country will become.

At least for the time being.

Need the break from all that anyway.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to put some extra hours for the book I'm writing when I'm not at work.

Just starting to put the draft into actual writing.

Quite tedious.

I think this book is going to take a while to finish.

Maybe I need to take a long leave and spend some time in my kampung to get the feel of things so that it will be easier for me to visualise what I'm writing.

Also need to spend time with my grandmother for more materials of the story, especially for learning how it was during those early days when my mother's family settled in Kluang.

It's a crucial part of the book.

See lah how.

I don't think the book will sell well as it's not of the usual theme that Malaysians like to read.

But it's okay as I'm not writing it for the money.

Not unlike this blog, I'm writing it more as a record keeping of my thoughts of sort.

If later on I can't get a publisher because it's very bad, I plan to just publish it online to bore the hell out of those who try to read it.

Anyway, similar to this blog, the storyline of the book is mostly inspired by anime.
