Reading Dr Mahathir

This blog's number of page views this month is the highest ever since I set it up in March 2013.

With a few hours to go, the number of page views for this month stands at 111,393.

Normally, this blog's monthly page views averaged at about 80,000.

The previous highest number of visits to this blog in a single month was in May 2013 - the month of the 13th general election - with 110,487 page views.

During that election month about two years ago, I wrote 46 posts.

I was  trying very hard that month, campaigning for BN before and winding up after the general election.

This month, I wrote 33 posts (which include this one you all are reading now).

Honestly, I was not even really trying too hard with a few of my posts this month being mere nonsensical ramblings such as the last one,

Good day and bad English

Well, I believe the reason why this blog received significantly more visitors this month was because of this guy,

Former PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad still commands the people's attention.

So, when he started to vigorously attack PM DS Najib Razak earlier this month, people sit up and wanted to know what it was all about.

They wanted to know, because Dr Mahathir would not had said anything without a good reason.

I believe that the people had tried to read everything they can get, to know the development of the supposedly Mahathir-Najib clash, including those in this blog.

That was why this blog's page views this month was exceptionally high.

Well, maybe the numbers were nothing compared to that of the prominent blogs, but what should be noted was the reading trend among readers of this blog indicated that the Dr Mahathir's attacks should not be treated lightly or stupidly (as it is now) by Najib and his people.

I'm still hoping for something to be done to avoid BN from losing the middle ground due to the incompetent handling of the grouses voiced by Dr Mahathir and the apparently increasing number of people shifting to his side.

As I had previously wrote, Don't let BN go into the longkang

Good day and bad English

Today has been a good day for me.

So, I don't want to spoil it by writing about politics.

Well, I actually went on a boat ride to an island with friends today.

It was a pleasant afternoon as we spent time at the beach on the island.

After that we went for massage.

It was very nice, indeed.

Occasionally, on good days such as this, I feel that it is better to avoid politics.

Tak mau sakit hati lah.

Honestly, I can't think of anything heartwarming about the current political situation.

Anyway, besides all that, I was actually quite amused that my last posting

To reason is better than to fight

had attracted quite a few comments on the quality of English in this blog.

Admittedly, I have never tried to improve my English to perfection.

Janji faham dan tak sakit mata sangat membaca my rather sloppy grammar, kira okay lah.

Honestly, my Bahasa Malaysia is not that great either.

So, if I had chosen to write in Bahasa, I don't think the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka folks will be much pleased with me too.

Anyway, all those complaints about perfecting the mastery of English reminded me of this rather amusing scene from the Black Adder series,

Okay, that's all for today.

I'm taking a walk along the beach now before going for dinner.

Ciao.

To reason is better than to fight

Hung out with a close friend last night.

Mostly we were talking about some serious nonsense such as the meaning of love, troubled relationship, bastards who turned our life upside down, etc.

Despite all that, we also managed to talk a bit about politics.

I think I can share with you all some of my thoughts about what the two of us talked about.

My friend basically asked me two questions:

1. Will the apparent disagreement between Pakatan parties, particularly over hudud, lead to them breaking up, and the effect of their quarrel on the by-elections in Permatang Pauh and Rompin?

2. Does Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad be able to topple PM DS Najib Razak and what is the effect of his effort in the long run?

My answers were:

1. The Pakatan parties will mend their relations.

For me, their quarrel over hudud is a farce.

They just wanted to reassure their supporters of their either Islamic or secular credentials by arguing with each other over the whole thing.

They will be back honky dory together before the next general election which is just two and a half years from now.

By the way, I don't think the Chinese were really that scared of Pas' hudud.

My over 70 years old grandmother doesn't even mind if the Islamic criminal laws be imposed on her and other Chinese.

She told me the other day that she doesn't mind hands of robbers and rapists be chopped off even if they were Chinese.

Yes, I think the Chinese will still see a vote for Pas is a vote for DAP in the next general election.

As for the by-elections, the outcome is easily predictable.

- PKR president DS Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail will win in Permatang Pauh with more or less the same majority.

- BN will retain Rompin with lesser majority.

I'm not going to elaborate on my predictions as I'm still a supporter of the establishment and I don't want to demoralize BN election workers who are sincerely trying very hard now for their candidates.

2. Dr Mahathir will not be able to topple Najib for now.

The PM will get the necessary backing from Umno in the face of any immediate challenge by pretenders to his party presidency.

By the way, none of the available potential challengers are at this moment strong enough to garner enough support to go against Najib.

This however does not mean Najib's people should be happy and think they can go all out whacking Dr Mahathir.

If they do that, the end results will be disastrous.

Without Dr Mahathir's supporters and sympathizers, I believe BN will do very badly or even possibly lose in the next general election.

After that, Najib can no longer be the PM, and in a way Dr Mahathir will then be successful in removing him from the post.

Fighting Dr Mahathir the way Najib's people are doing now will not help Najib in the long run.

One way or another, Najib and his people have to find a way to appease Dr Mahathir and win back support from the former PM's followers.

They need to reason with Dr Mahathir instead of trying to whack him the way some Najib's people are doing now.

They were fools if they arrogantly thought that they can fight fire with fire when dealing with Dr Mahathir and then later on can win the next general election.

Najib's people should bear in mind that the onus is on their boss as PM and Umno president to make sure BN stays in power after the next general election.

Najib surely doesn't want history to remember him as being the last Umno president to be a PM after failing to unite his party and losing the middle ground.

In contrast, the almost 90-year-old Dr Mahathir is now just an ordinary citizen and Umno member.

He got nothing really to lose by going against Najib, which at the moment he believes is the right thing to do for the country.

Formula on how to handle Dr Mahathir

This morning, I watched the latest speech by former PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at Apanama's

#UNDURLAH Najib Razak

The handsome old man is still as good as ever. Witty, sharp and smart. Cheeky too.

Sometimes I find it hard to believe that he is almost 90 years old.

It's the first time Dr Mahathir presented his case on the ground since he started attacking PM DS Najib Razak in his blog

chedet.cc

Honestly, I don't think Najib and his people know how to handle the Dr Mahathir's rebellion.

You cannot smack down a 90-year-old man, okay.

You do that and people will say you and your gang are bullies.

Just imagine this; you walk down the road and you see someone beating up a 90-year-old man.

What do you think?

Does it matter whether the old man is the one who started the fight?

I think that any decent people will try to help the old man.

How can anyone beat up a 90-year-old man, right?

But some in the Najib's camp think otherwise.

This is by Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz;

1MDB: Antara fakta dan auta Tun M,

If I'm not mistaken, Tun Faisal used to be the head of Umno's cyberwar effort before the last general election.

When I read what he wrote about Dr Mahathir, I told myself that, now I know why Umno and its BN allies lost the cyberwar in the run-up to the last general election.

For me that's not how to handle Dr Mahathir's criticisms.

Using words such as "auta" on the almost 90-year-old former PM, who is beloved by millions in this country and around the world will not make Najib's situation any better.

This is not a matter of who can outshout the other.

If you may noticed, Dr Mahathir never try to outshout his opponents.

The handsome old man knows how to play this game.

The more Najib's people attacked him, the more people are going over to his side.

Rather stupid of them, isn't it.

Well, I actually have a formula on how Najib's people should handle Dr Mahathir.

Really, I'm not kidding.

I'm quite smart, okay.

But I'm not telling.

I have stopped giving free advice to these people.

Kalau dia orang nak juga, dia orang kena bayar aku macam dia orang bayar Tun Faisal.

Rate sama tau.

What?

Dia orang ni bukan appreciate pun konsep ikhlas perjuangan.

Might as well la aku buat macam ni.

To be or not to be...that's up to Najib

As I was driving home from work yesterday evening, I had this idea of writing something serious and important to assist Umno and BN in getting out of their current predicament.

So, when I reached home and done the necessary, as usual, I opened up this laptop and started to write.

These were what I wrote:

As everyone knows, there is now a sort of "rebellion" among a segment of the pro-establishment people against PM DS Najib Razak.

At the head of the rebellion is of course former PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, whose recent stinging criticisms of Najib had galvanized quite a strong wave of support.

The whole thing reminds me of what happened right after the 12th general election in 2008.

BN had lost it's two third majority in that election and

At the last sentence, it occurred to me that I shouldn't be writing what I was about to write next.

"Don't be stupid Annie, you shouldn't be writing these sorts of things anymore. The Umno and BN people are calling you stupid and said they don't need you to help them even for free, remember," I told myself.

Ya, that's quite true. I got quite a number of comments to that effect for my posts of late.

Even my best friend (BF) said I was being stupid and reckless for sticking my neck out for those people and expecting nothing in return.

"Not only that they don't appreciate the free write-up you do for them, they will crucify you if somehow or another they don't like what you write or how you write those stuff," he had said to me a few days ago.

Errr....okay....

I then closed this laptop and went to sleep.

I was tired anyway.

This whole morning I just hang around the house doing practically nothing other than watching a stupid movie on HBO.

I admit that I was feeling moody....no, I was not having my period, okay.

It's probably the withdrawal symptoms for not being able to write what I wanted to write.

Blogging can be addictive, you see.

Anyway, what makes me now writing all these was a call from a friend while I was having lunch just now.

My friend is the lady I mentioned in this posting,

Nasib penyokong marhaen Najib

She told me that a friend of her husband who works for PM DS Najib Razak had managed to offer him a possible job opportunity.

"My husband said he was not sure whether he will take the job as he was quite fed-up with a lot of good-for-nothing Najib's people. But he was happy that there are still among his friends who work for the PM who are still trying to help him. I think it is good that the PM still has some good guys," said my friend.

Ya, it's true.

A leader who surrounds himself with nice and capable people will normally be viewed by the people as being a good leader.

As it is, a leader who surrounds himself with stupid assholes will normally be viewed as a stupid asshole too, or even the chief of stupid assholes.

In the case of Najib, I think he needs to do a check on the people around him. Personally, I think there are quite a number of assholes around him.

He needs to do the right things.

For instance, I don't think he did the right thing by appointing this guy who

to the strategic post of head of Jasa (Special Affairs Department of the Ministry of Communication and Multimedia).

If the guy can't even manage strategic communication in Batu Pahat, how is he going to handle the whole thing throughout the country?

Ini kena tanya orang Batu Pahat, okay. Letak dia lagi sekali kat situ boleh menang tak?

Errrr....by the way, anyone knows what happened to the so called National Communication Team (NCT)?

Is it still there? What is it doing, actually? Heard the gaji of the staff there quite good, surely they must had successfully done something of late to swing back votes to BN....ada ke?

Well, I don't know....it's up to Najib.

Bear in mind ya, the next general election is less than three years from now.

The PM actually doesn't have too much time to fix and improve things, especially now that there is a rebellion going on within Umno.

KJ is the man...but not now ya

The truth is, I was indeed just horsing around when I wrote this,

The guy who I think can replace Najib

Come on, there's no way Khairy Jamaluddin can jump over so many heads to go straight up to the top now that his father-in-law is no longer the PM.

Of course he is handsome, smart, sexy, stylish and lots more,

...but for him to replace PM DS Najib Razak right now....naaaahhh, cannot be lah.

Honestly, I wrote that post just to get the kicks out of getting the response from you all dear readers of this blog.

And for that I got 42 comments for the post, which is quite good for this insignificant anonymous blog.

Quite a number of commenters thought I had turned into an itchy horny bitch who had lost her marbles for writing the post.

Well, doesn't really matter. It was fun, okay.

However, just now I saw this post by OutSyed the Box,

UMNO Sabotage UMNO In Rompin : PMO Dunggus Accuse Pemuda

Syed Akbar Ali, who runs the blog, known for its anti-Najib stance, reproduced this "exclusive" article from the pro-Najib portal MyKMU.net,

5-sekawan-pemuda-umno-sabotaj-perdana-menteri

excerpts:

1. Lima Sekawan ini diketuai oleh Naib Ketua Pemuda UMNO Malaysia, Khairul Azwan Harun, EXCO Pemuda UMNO Malaysia, Arman Azha Abu Hanifah, Syamsul Baharin Putra Ahmad Shibi, Sheikh Ahmad Nafiq Sheikh A Rahman dan Penolong Setiausaha Pemuda Barisan Nasional, Datuk Mohamed Shafri Abd Aziz.
2. Menurut sumber, Azwan mengingatkan Pemuda Johor bahawa sokongan Pemuda UMNO Malaysia adalah kepada jawatan Presiden UMNO bukannya kepada Mohd Najib Tun Razak.

3. Azwan juga beranggapan Mohd Najib harus ditumbangkan dan orang yang layak mengetuai penentangan terhadap Perdana Menteri ialah Ketua Pemuda UMNO sendiri, Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar.

I was like...what the heck....

For a while there, I was praying that the KMU guys didn't get the idea to write the story after reading my posting on KJ...okay, probably not....nanti orang kata perasan pulak.

Anyway, according to Syed Akbar,

The Pemuda UMNO has since released a statement refuting this claim by the MY KMU boys.

That's a relief.

Nevertheless, I need to point it out here that I do stand on what I wrote about KJ being the best candidate among the top Umno leaders to replace Najib based on his handsomeness and other credentials.

The other candidates are simply not as handsome, smart, sexy, stylish and a lot more compared with KJ.

It does not however means that KJ CAN replaces Najib NOW.

That would be too ridiculous, okay.

Get it?

A religious lesson

Rocky's
The Azan, Salib rapped
reminded me of this "religious lesson" by Mr Atkinson,

Now, I believe no one has ever really wanted to charge Mr Atkinson with sedition for that.

Also, Rocky's posting, got relatively civilized comments over the ongoing religious brouhaha, which was quite encouraging.

This is one of them:
Blogger Pasquale said...

Two things:Allah is great and I do not feel insulted when a non-Muslim, even like Alvin doing a "repetoire" on Azan. I was expecting some bad expletive, I do not feel insulted at all, but I do feel angry when Azan is being called in a very very bad note like in my area Ampang Jaya/Ukay Heights. No one made a fuss when Freddie Mercury said Bismillah in his rendition of the famous Bohemian Raphsody.
Anohter, imagine a mosquew being erected or a crescent moon and the star being displayed in a conservstive Jewish majority enclave, what certain Christian sect trying to do is just to provoke as though for fun, if you are sincere be sensitive okay.

Who knows, maybe there is still hope for the multi-religous society of this country.

A matter of conscience

Since I'm not writing for a while, tonight I'm just putting this video clip which is a scene from A Man for All Seasons.

Considering the current political climate, maybe, we can learn something from it about conscience.

It's just a spring clean for the May queen

I received this comment for my last post,

Volunteering? Blogger Bangang? Orang tak minta pun? Self aggrandisement kut.

Somehow it made me realized that it's true, that of late I have been writing  because I actually felt that my writings were important.

Sorts of "self aggrandisement".

It's also true that the establishment never asked for my assistance to defend itself.

I did it all on my own free will.

I was too proud of not asking anything in return.

Now that I'm personally unhappy with the establishment, I shouldn't bitch about it.

Admittedly, I have been quite a bitch.

In short, I have been a bad blogger.

Thanks to the commenter for the reminder.

A lesson learned : Do not volunteer anything unless asked to do so.

I also need to put a check on my ego and not let it get bloated.

Yup, it is time for me to reflect and remember why I started blogging in the first place, which was to do good....and maybe to have a bit of fun.

As someone put it to me this afternoon, I need to see the bigger picture.

I also shouldn't write when I'm angry.

Anger clouds judgement.

Admittedly, I have been doing that quite a lot lately.

It's bad, okay.

Well, I need some time to recalibrate myself.

Once I'm done, I will write again.

InsyaAllah.

For tonight, please enjoy this show. Best music video ever;

Take care everyone.

Garbage money : new establishment's income

My friend forwarded this story by Rakyat Post via Wassap yesterday,

Mandatory for households to separate garbage from September

excerpts:

1. Solid Waste and Solid Cleansing Management Corp (SWCorp) Chief Executive Officer Datuk Ab Rahim Md Noor said every family member should know how to do it and dispose off garbage properly.

2. “A company has been appointed to collect garbage in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Pahang, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah and Perlis. It will also observe and note down households which flout the rule.”

3. He said notices would be issued to those who flouted the rule starting September and a maximum compound of RM1,000 would be imposed on errant households by 2016.

My friend commented,
"Wah! Another initiative to grab money from rakyat leh."

I know that he was baiting me for a debate, knowing well that I am a pro-establishment person.

Normally, I would entertain him.

However, at present, I am too disillusioned by what's happening with the establishment that I was not in the mood to go to its defense over such things.

Let the highly paid professional mercenaries defend the establishment, I told myself.

To my friend, I just replied:

"Sigh..."

Well, if he really wants to pick up a quarrel with the establishment over the matter, he can write a letter to the pro-BN newspapers. Maybe they will publish it...and reply on behalf of the establishment.

I'm just not volunteering such services anymore.

Another Muhyiddin's opened cards

The biggest political story today should be this statement by DPM TS Muhyiddin Yassin,

Two prominent bloggers opposing the leadership of DS Najib Razak had immediately hailed the statement, describing it as Muhyiddin's first brave step to challenge his boss.

Syed Akbar Ali wrote this,

At Last Muhyiddin Steps Forward : "Let me assure you Sir, you are not alone"

while Firdaus of Apanama wrote this,

SEMBOYAN telah berbunyi, Terima kasih Tan Sri

Another prominent pro-establishment blogger was however more cautious about construing Muhyiddin's statement as such.

Big Dog wrote this,

“You are not alone in telling the truth”

excerpts :

"There would be some who would prefer to read what Muhyiddin said today and construe it as a subliminal message in support of Tun Dr. Mahathir’s call for Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib Tun Razak to quit."

Big Dog then proceeded to remind readers of his blog that Muhyiddin had on April 9, in Jakarta "asked his former Boss (Dr Mahathir) to allow time for the announced audits to be carried out in 1MDB."

Well, whatever it is, it's quite clear here that things will really heat up in the coming days and weeks.

I personally disagree with all three prominent bloggers on this matter.

With all due respect, I have to say that I totally disagree with Big Dog.

Muhyiddin would not had made such a statement without weighing its implications. He  would not fool around with such words at any other time, even more so in the current political climate.

As for Syed Akbar and Firdaus, I disagree with them that this is the first time that Muhyiddin had come out in the open to lay down one of his cards on the table, signaling the possibility of him challenging Najib.

For me, he actually did that here,

Something may be brewing in Umno

when he said the Umno elections must be held as scheduled next year instead of being postponed until after the next general election.

Don't postpone UMNO 2016 election, says Muhyiddin

It was a pre-emptive move and a signal that there are those within Umno who do not want the party to face the next general election with the same line-up of leaders following the less than desired results of GE13 in 2013.

I believe Muhyiddin had expected that the current storm was coming when he prepared his speech for the joint-opening of the Umno wings' annual general meeting in November last year.

Now with Dr Mahathir going all out behind the effort to replace Najib, more cards will soon be opened on the table.

For me, the main question should be, will the anti-Najib forces be able to keep the momentum going till at least the next Umno general assembly, scheduled later this year.

That's where it will be decided whether Najib will be challenged as Umno president or the party will go into the 14th general election battle being led by the same line-up as the one in GE13.

A short break

I am now at my friend's place in Kuantan.

My friend is the lady that I had mentioned in this post,

Nasib penyokong marhaen Najib

It's a short break.

Drove here on Friday night.

It's very peaceful here.

I can hear the birds chirping outside.

My friend's daughter, a shy quiet girl, is practicing with her electric guitar in her room.

She's playing the soft melody of an old song at low volume.

It's pleasant.

Here are some pictures around the house (which I took with my friend's permission), a humble three-bedroom single-storey,

A little garden next to the porch

A simple yet cosy living room

A small but tidy kitchen

My friend's son playing with his iPad Mini in his parents' room. The boy has autism and can't speak much.

I wish I can stay here forever.

I wish I don't have to go back to KL tomorrow.

Kedah Umno trying to be on the right side

When

A storm is gathering

I choose to be on

The right side

Some readers of this blog were not happy with me and I received comments such as this

Make your mind up Annie. Loyalties can not be divided, either your are with Dr.M or Najib. You either sail or sink together. I would personally go with the winning hand which is Najib.

Mahathir has found his match now not in form of Najib but Rosmah. She is quite a formidable character. Unfortunately, Mahathir neither has time nor health on his side.

Today, Bernama reported this,

ALOR SETAR, April 18 (Bernama) - Kedah UMNO has pledged full to the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir.

Its deputy chairman, Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said this was agreed at a special meeting of Kedah UMNO Liaison here, Saturday.

He said the special meeting also agreed that Mukhriz should not make a statement on the issue on April 24 in Kuala Lumpur.

"We have also agreed to cancel the Kedah Umno Liaison meeting on April 24," he told a press conference after the special meeting at Seri Mentaloon, the menteri besar's official residence.

Mukhriz was not present in the meeting room during the press conference.

The special meeting which began at noon and ended two hours later was also attended by Barisan Nasional (BN) state assemblymen in Kedah.

It was chaired by Mukhriz, who is also Kedah UMNO Liaison chairman.

All UMNO division chiefs were present at the special meeting except Datuk Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim (Baling), Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom (Jerai) and Datuk Mohd Johari Baharom (Kubang Pasu).

The only BN state assemblyman missing from today's meeting was Datuk Ahmad Lebai Sudin (Bukit Lada).

Ahmad Bashah, who is also the Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, said those who did not attend the special meeting were overseas and had sent representatives.

The meeting also agreed to respect the views of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and wants him to give Najib the chance to run the country.

It also supported the prime minister's decision urging the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to conduct an audit of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

He said the question of Kedah UMNO unity did not arise as shown by the special meeting which fully supported the prime minister and the menteri besar.

Asked whether Kedah UMNO would take action against Ahmad Lebai for urging Mukhriz to quit if he failed to support Najib, he said it was up to UMNO headquarters.

Ahmad Bashah also said Ahmad Lebai's remark calling on Mukhriz to quit the menteri besar's post was a personal statement and did not represent any party.

-- BERNAMA

I think Kedah Umno is also trying to be on the right side.

Guess they also realized that

You kick out Mukhriz, you die, okay

Jazlan is chubby but he's okay

Two days ago, a friend called and asked whether I'm a friend of DS Nur Jazlan Mohamed, the chairman of Public Account Committee (PAC) and Pulai member of parliament.

"Err...no, I don't think Jazlan is my friend," I said.

For some unknown reasons, my friend on the other end of the line seemed amused by my answer.

Well, I actually know Jazlan, but I don't think I'm in a position to claim that he is my friend.

It's not like we chit chat all the time or me regularly giving him advices such as on how to lose weight or something like that.

Jazlan may also not like it that an insignificant anonymous bitchy blogger going around claiming to be his friend.

If I'm a kinda hot babe, then maybe it's another story la.

My friend proceeded to ask me whether Jazlan and his PAC gang can be trusted to  investigate 1MDB following the ongoing assault by former PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad against PM DS Najib Razak and his administration.

The 1MDB issue is the most crucial point of Dr Mahathir's attacks.

Well, I'm actually in favor of trusting Jazlan on it.

He is not exactly my favorite politician but the guy does has a certain amount of integrity.

He is definitely not one of those disgusting ass-kissing stupid bootlickers within the Umno rank.

If he does need to do a bit of apple-polishing, he would normally had done so without making someone like me feels too disgusted.

For one thing, I don't mind Jazlan too much because he dares to be different, which I think was what deterred him from being appointed a minister.

Some Umno people have even accused him of being a Pakatan's Trojan horse because of his rather liberal and unorthodox opinions on things.

The last time I talked to him face to face was just before the last general election.

He told me that things were not really good at his mixed Pulai constituency. True enough, later on polling day, his over 20,000 majority was slashed to just above 2,000.

Despite being half Chinese like me, he was almost swept away by the Chinese tsunami.

Jazlan, who is now 49 said he was ready to quit politics if things don't improve.

An accountant by profession, he had told me that it was not really his wish to be a politician in the first place as his real interest was to be a businessman.

It was his father, the late TS Mohamed Rahmat who persuaded him to get involved in Umno.

I also know that Jazlan at that time was frustrated that he can't do more than being a chairman of the troubled UDA.

So, when Najib appointed him as the PAC chairman, I did remember telling myself that the PM did the right thing.

I think Jazlan will try his best over the 1MDB mess. He knows that all eyes will be on him and therefore he is not likely to do anything which makes him look like a donkey.

However, I don't think it will make much difference to the ongoing Dr Mahathir's attack against Najib.

Read this, if you want to know why I said that;

PAC mungkin siasat 1MDB tanpa laporan ketua audit, kata Nur Jazlan

excerpts:

Hmmm...Jazlan said it will take years for the PAC to complete its report on 1MDB.

Well, unfortunately, we don't have that many years to wait for Jazlan and his PAC gang to come up with their 1MDB report.

The next general election is less than three years from now.

If things go on the way it is now, there is a very high probability that Jazlan may no longer be Pulai MP or PAC chairman after that.

The last time I went down to Johor Baru several months ago, an old friend who is a senior SB officer told me that all parliamentary constituencies within the Iskandar Malaysia development corridor will most likely be swept away by Pakatan in the next general election unless BN do something really drastic there.

Jazlan's Pulai is one of the constituencies, with the others being Kulai, Gelang Patah, Johor Baru, Tebrau, Tanjong Piai and Pasir Gudang.

Well, what do you expect? Even Pasir Gudang which is the fortress of Johor MB DS Mohamed Khaled Nordin had its majority of over 20,000 being slashed to just over 900 in the last general election.

Eh, okay lah....enough of Jazlan.

Tiring la writing about the chubby boy....as if he pays me for writing all these.

Jazlan, if you are reading this, my advice is.....you better slim down a bit man. You are beginning to look like a fat towkey, okay.

Don't let BN go into the longkang

In his latest posting,

TV3, NST ... Do not demonize Dr M to defend Najib

Rocky cautioned the media handlers of PM DS Najib Razak that they "may be making the same grave mistakes as Pak Lah's aides had done a decade ago."

I'm glad that Rocky gave that advice because as a prominent blogger, it may count for something.

The PM's media handlers may actually listen to him.

I had actually tried giving such advice quite a number of time in the past.

But of course, who am I to advise the smart PM's media handlers and brilliant big time pro-BN editors on how to do their job.

I'm after all just an insignificant anonymous blogger.

I actually gave those advices not expecting it to be read by those important people.

Sorts of more like putting it on record for my self satisfaction.

My thoughts were that maybe later on I can say, "Hey, at least I tried."

Of all the postings of that nature which I did, this is probably the one I tried my best,

Stupid media strategy leads BN into the longkang

The post was dated March 5, last year.

In that post, I even made suggestions on how BN can improve its handling of the media so that the coalition will not ends up in the drain.

The reason why I tried my best while writing that post was because of the person I talked to as mentioned.

Here are excerpts of that post concerning that person:

1. The other day, a very very high ranking Barisan Nasional leader admitted to me that the coalition had indeed lost the fight to win the heart and mind of the people in the run up to the 13th General Election.

2. This BN leader, who is actually one of the good guys also acknowledged that the coalition's media handlers and practitioners had failed to come up with a winning strategy, enabling Pakatan's propaganda to dominate the cyberspace and even to a certain extent, the mainstream media.

3. The funny thing was that, that good BN guy knows all these things yet he doesn't seem to know why it's like that and what to do about it.

4. The high ranking BN leader actually asked me what should be done.

I wish I can tell you all who is that "very very high ranking Barisan Nasional leader", but I'm not at liberty to do so.

Anyway, no point telling you all as you will either be very shocked or would not believe me if I tell you who he is.

Nasib penyokong marhaen Najib

There is this lady who lives in Kuantan.

She is a housewife with two young children.

Her husband works for a pro-BN organization in KL and only comes home to be with the family once or twice a month.

Since her husband was a BN supporter, naturally, as a good wife, she too became a BN supporter.

Her husband has also been a staunch supporter of PM DS Najib Razak for many years.

Following her husband's lead, she also supported Najib despite her less than cordial views of Najib's wife DS Rosmah Mansur.

The couple were however not Umno members.

They never receive any direct favor from Umno or any other political party.

They even bought their house in Kuantan without getting any bumiputera discount.

Back during the last general election in 2013, the lady's husband was temporarily posted in Johor to assist the BN's campaign.

He had told her that she probably would have to skip voting as he can't possibly fetch her and their children to take them home to her hometown in Klang where she votes.

The lady drives around a small old car to send their children to school and going to the market but had been forbidden by her husband to drive long distance in it.

The lady was however resolute about giving her single vote to BN. She dragged along her two children, one of whom is autistic to take a bus back to Klang.

After the election, she was active in the social media and chat groups, defending BN, in particular Umno.

Her husband, aside from his daily routine of promoting BN, which is his work, also took to the social media during his spare time to support the establishment.

The couple is however in trouble now.

Recently, the lady's husband was forced to resign his post by his bosses who were placed in the organization by the Prime Minister himself.

The lady's husband had stood up against his bosses for bullying their subordinates.

He was of the opinion that being PM appointees, and therefore represent Najib himself, they should behave more appropriately.

Unfortunately, his bosses didn't take too kindly to his suggestion and instead ordered him to do something which they knew he can't fulfill, therefore forcing him to quit his job.

I recently talked to the lady, who is my friend for many years.

"Nak buat macam mana....dah bukan rezeki kami yang suami saya kena buang macam tu. Tak apa lah, kita orang usaha sendiri lepas ni. InsyaAllah....rezeki kita Allah yang tentu kan, bukan manusia," she said.

I asked if any of Najib's people tried to help her husband and family,

"Ada la juga. Suami saya kata ada dua orang yang kerja dengan PM nama Tengku dengan Rusdi try nak tolong dia tapi orang-orang Najib yang kat tempat kerja dia tu lawan balik.

"Suami saya kata dia sangat berterima kasih kat dua orang kawan dia tu tapi dia cakap dia pun sebenarnya dah tak nak kerja kat situ pun sebab dia dah meluat tengok perangai orang-orang Najib yang lain kat situ."

The lady said she had asked her husband to return to Kuantan where they hope to get a loan to set-up a small business.

Anyone from BN or Umno who wishes to assist the couple may emailed them through my singlewhitewolf@gmail.com

All correspondence will be strictly confidential.

Another LKY story

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad appeared to be easing off his assault on PM DS Najib Razak and his administration.

Today, instead of writing about Najib like he did in his past few postings, the handsome old man wrote about

HUDUD

Well, since there seems to be a lull on the part of Dr Mahathir, I decided to take a rest from the issue too.

Tonight, I want to instead post something about the Singapore's late founding father Lee Kwan Yew again.

I have been reading quite a bit about LKY since his recent passing.

I admit that I didn't like the man when he was still alive, but the more I read about him, the more I came to admire the guy.

Well, I still don't care much about his politics, but I'm now quite a fan of LKY as a man.

A good husband, father and son of Singapore.

That's how I see LKY now.

There are actually a lot of positive stuff that can be learned from the man.

This is the link to one of the most interesting articles that I read about LKY which was published in Straits Times,

Mr Lee Kuan Yew wanted his house to be demolished:

Since I suspect that many of you may not be bothered to go to the link, I cut and paste the article for your reading convenience,

Published on Apr 13, 2015 1:02 PM

SINGAPORE - There have been calls to turn Mr Lee Kuan Yew's house into a museum, but in his will, he had asked for it to be demolished.
In the event that an order would be issued against his wishes, the former Prime Minister added in his will: "If our children are unable to demolish the house as a result of any changes in the law, rules or regulations binding them, it is my wish that the house never be opened to others except my children, their families and descendants."
The pre-war bungalow at 38, Oxley Road, which was built by a Jewish merchant more than 100 years ago, has witnessed some momentous turning points in Singapore's history.

1. Why demolish the house?

Back in 2011, Mr Lee said in an interview with a team of Straits Times journalists for the book, Hard Truths to Keep Singapore Going, that he wanted the house to be demolished. Here it is in his own words:
I mean MM, I haven't been there but people who have been there say you've not done much to renovate and to upgrade it.
I've told the Cabinet, when I'm dead, demolish it.
Why?
Because I think, I've seen other houses, Nehru's, Shakespeare's. They become a shambles after a while. People trudge through. Because of my house the neighbouring houses cannot build high. Now demolish my house and change the planning rules, go up, the land value will go up.
Ever practical, one of the reasons he gave was that it would cost a lot to maintain it:
But isn't that part of Singapore history?
No, no, no. You know the cost of preserving it? It's an old house built over a hundred years ago. No foundation. The cost of maintaining it, damp comes up the wall because there's no foundation. So the piling in the neighbourhood has made cracks in my walls. But fortunately the pillars are sound.
By your comment then, you don't place great store on preserving old buildings? It's like the old National Library, no architectural significance but when it was torn down I think a lot of people still bemoan its loss today.
I don't think my daughter or my wife or I, who lived in it, or my sons who grew up in it will bemoan its loss. They have old photos to remind them of the past.

2. The Lees' marital home

The house is where Mr Lee began his married life. Mr Lee grew up at 92, Kampong Java Road, but later moved to his maternal grandfather's house in Telok Kurau in 1929. He and his family moved into 38, Oxley Road in 1945.
Then in 1946, he sailed for England to study law. He had already begun dating a former classmate from Raffles College - Ms Kwa Geok Choo. They secretly married in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1947.
After their official wedding in 1950, they moved into the Oxley Road house.

3. Old furniture, and no shower

Mr Lee once described 38, Oxley Road as "a big, rambling house with five bedrooms, and three others at the back originally used as servants' quarters."
Associate Professor Koo Tsai Kee, an MP for 20 years in Mr Lee's Tanjong Pagar GRC, who visited the house in 2002, said: "It's a very humble house. The furniture has probably never been changed. Some of the pictures are yellow already."
Mr Lee's daughter, Dr Lee Wei Ling, once described the frugality her parents instilled in her: "We had to turn off water taps completely. If my parents found a dripping tap, we would get a ticking off. And when we left a room, we had to switch off lights and air-conditioners."
Dr Lee also wrote in the 2012 column that her room has a window model air-conditioner, which fell out of favour decades ago.
Visitors to the house such as journalist Judith Tan, who was there in 2010, described how there was no shower for many years.
In an article for The New Paper on March 26, 2015, Ms Tan wrote: "The downstairs bathroom, for instance, still held a humdangong (Cantonese for barrel or tub used for making salted eggs), a large clay urn filled with water for bathing, old-school style, complete with a plastic scoop. Its mosaic tiles, some a little chipped, had been popular in the 1970s. The chairs in the house were mismatched, giving off an eclectic feel. An ancient exercise bike stood in one corner, gathering dust."
It was only after Mrs Lee had a stroke in London in 2003 that their children installed a shower before she returned home.

4. Family gatherings

Mr Lee's grandson Li Shengwu recalled the Sunday lunches they had at Oxley Road in a eulogy he delivered for Mr Lee at his funeral on March 29.
"Sunday lunch with Ye Ye was an institution for our family. His voice and his hearty laugh would carry to the children's table, talking about matters of state, recounting meetings with foreign leaders whose names we neither recognised nor remembered.
"In a city of continual renewal, my grandparents' house never changed. Always the same white walls, the same wooden furniture, the same high windows letting in sunlight.
"The food stayed the same too - Singapore cooking that would not be out of place at a good stall in a hawker centre."
The extended family also met at the house during Chinese New Year for many years.
When Mr Lee's father Mr Lee Chin Koon was alive, the extended family would gather at Oxley Road for the first day of Chinese New Year. But as the family grew bigger, they got together for the reunion dinner and exchanged greetings then.

5. Hive of political activity

The basement dining room at 38, Oxley Road was where the founding members of the People's Action Party discussed setting up a new party.

A group of English-educated middle-class friends whom Mr Lee himself called 'beer-swilling bourgeois', gathered in late 1954, usually on Saturdays between 2.30pm and 5.30pm.
Some 20 participants, including the 14 founding members of the People's Action Party, would engage in heated debates around a long table.
On Nov 21, 1954, the group formed the "socialist" PAP with the pro-communist trade unionists.
Mr Lee's eldest son, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, grew up in the house, experiencing his first taste of politics there.
In his eulogy at the March 29 State funeral service, PM Lee said: "Of course, growing up as my father's son could not but mean being exposed to politics very early. I remember as a little boy . . . (I) was excited by the hubbub at Oxley Road whenever elections happened, and our home became the election office."
