The Star should just f*** off

When someone you thought was a friend stabbed your back and spat in your face, your immediate reaction must be to hit back at that person isn't it?

Well, that was my first instinct on the night of May 5th. The Chinese community overwhelmingly rejected BN despite all the overtures made to them.

At that moment, I feel like telling all Chinese to go to hell for especially their betrayal of the moderate Malays.

But, I realized that I should not do that. I need to calm down and forgive them for betraying good Malay leaders such as Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman. who received less than 3 per cent of the Chinese votes in Gelang Patah.

I reminded myself that I am a Muslim, and my religion doesn't permit me to blindly hate others no matter how much hurt I have to endure.

But then, later on there were irritating statements issued by people like Lim Kit Siang about making Ghani a minister which made my blood boils again.

I find that statement by Kit Siang to be self-serving and insulting.

I have had enough of such treachery. I may be able to forgive but I will never forget what happened in Gelang Patah.

And today as I saw the Star front page, my anger went up several notches again.

It reads "We are Malaysia". Then there was a picture of smiling young Malaysians each holding a small Jalur Gemilang promoting "We are one people, one country".

On the MCA's own newspaper's page three, there were these headlines, "Stay positive, united (in red) and move on", "Radio deejays begin 'Kamilah Malaysia' campaign", and "Now is the time to look forward, MP tells M'sians".

Yes, these are the main headlines of the Star, the biggest English newspaper in the country which had subtly been assisting the Chinese-driven DAP campaign machinery over the years in undermining BN.

The Star had been hedging for a possible Pakatan's victory in GE13. Most of its editors and journalists are known Pakatan supporters and you can read about them at Helen Ang blog.

Only a fool of an analyst would not agree with that conclusion about the Star.

Now that its bet was lost with BN still in power, the Star editorial is going all out to cool down the racial temperature which was set alight by their sleeping partner, the cybertroopers outfit at Komtar.

Now that it is clear that the racial card had been thrown open for all to see and the betrayal was complete, they are trying to tell everyone not to get angry and that we are still brothers and sisters.

I feel sick thinking of that.

What they should instead do after stabbing and spitting on us is to let us be for a while to calm down.

Let us be for a while.

Do not come to us after committing such treachery saying "Hey, sorry ya. Don't be angry. We are still brothers and sisters."

For the editors and journalists of the Star, please don't be so condescending in your effort to appease the Malays.

Malays are not stupid, ok?

They may be nice people and are prone to easily forgive those who wronged them, but please don't push your luck with them.

Let them be on their own to heal the hurt of being betrayed by people they believed were their friends.

Don't inflame them some more, ok?

As for me, at this moment, if anyone comes to me and talk about muhibah and 1Malaysia, then he or she may likely get a flying kick in the face.

Ok, I need to rest and cool down now. This spasm of racial hatred really tires me.

Agreed. Malays should just stop buying the Star. You can read the newspaper online anyway. Free of charge. Baik beli NST.

Muhibbah? Boleh juga. What's the point nak gaduh2? Buang masa and air liur saje.

    5. These Star journalists are deranged. For all you know, they were busy sodomising each other that vote-counting night while waiting to move to Putrajaya. Haha. But Allah is great and these Star buggers got the best present from the right-minded Malaysians. The MCAn should sack all these neurotics working at the Star. As for me, I'd love to wallop these Star buggers, if I ever meet them one to one.

  2. I hope you realise that not all Chinese are like the DAPigs. I am a Chinese and am an urbanite.

I abhor the seeds of hatred and the politics of divide that Anwar Ibrahim and the DAP are sowing. I agree with you wholly that the Chinese had been duped by LKS and his band of brothers. I am disgusted that so many educated urbanites can't see that they have been hoodwinked. Encouraging the rakyat to take to the streets just to achieve his political dream of becoming PM ism beyond me. I do sincerely hope that the rakyat come to their senses and see AI for who he really is.

Once again I reiterate that there are many Chinese out there who voted for Barisan and are moderate. Let not the seeds of hatred govern us.

Dont deface nagaruku and then apologise day after do something else just as bad.

People like you should speak up more, then only then maybe we the malay can believe this time round.

Just a thought, how many leader of the 13 May era, are still around in active politics (red bean, that means poltical party leaders ok, else I call you stupid moron again).

Thanks for telling us how you feel. Unfortunately, I don't trust what you said. The chinese cannot simply hentam and then say sorry. It takes more than mere apology to mend the rift.

What GE13 showed was that BN can survive without the chinese help. The billions that have been milked by the chinese since May 13 is still not enough. Apa lagi lu mau.

It had given the malays new found confidence to show the middle fingers to the chinese.

    5. It is your right not to trust the minority chinese. It is also your right to boycott the Chinese business. I do certainly understand your anger and the sense of betrayal. I do certainly agree that the MCA should close all their service centers in Penang, Selangor and in all the areas they lost. The Chinese should get the DAP or PKR or even PAS to service them in these areas. They should not have the cake and eat it too. All the want is gimme, gimme, gimme and then stab BArisan in the back. In five years time, they will come running back to support Barisan when they realise PKR and DAp cannot deliver.

But for now Barisan should counter the red bean army and set up their own cyber troopers. As we speak plans are already in the offing to penetrate the urban areas by the red bean army.

So you supported BN? Now you see how the BN supporters react to you just because of your skin colour... all because they did not get everything they want.

Yes, they won the election, but they are still upset because they didn't get their 2/3rds majority. And also upset because deep down, behind all the "Blame Chinese First" hysteria, they know the urban Malays are not supporting them. Worse, Najib's 'Nambekei' did not bring the Indians back into BN's arms.

So keep supporting BN, with your 'allies' like these.

I am apolitical actually. In politics there is no black and white. I support the moderates and the politicians who really care for the rakyat. Politicians like Ghani, Saifuddin Abdullah, Ong Tee Keat. I do not support politicians that incite hatred, perpetrate lies, and who resort to taking to the streets to achieve their agenda. If they dispute the GE results go to the proper avenue. Why stir up all these frenzy and hate.

Don't you think it is time to move on ? There is already so much distrust and hate. We should just move on and repair the racial divide. Life goes on. Do not be sucked into this abyss of hate.

Thank you for your comments. Like a number of fellow commentators above,I think it is too late now for apologies. While there are Chinese like you, unfortunately there are many others (the 95%)who have shown their TRUE colours. It saddens me that many like you are caught in the middle but that's another story.

I don't think the Chinese can just say what they want to say, do what they want to do and when they are cornered, APOLOGISE.. really ???

If that's the case, then I should just apologise on behalf of UTUSAN and end of story ??

We, the Malays and Muslims have been hurt by a lot of what has been said and done, and no amount of apologies can take the hurt away.

We dont blame anyone.. it is just know we know where the loyalties are..

    15. I agree that we shouldn't generalize and lump everyone in the same category. We have moderate Chinese who believe in REAL unity and we should keep those close to us.

ALSO It would great if our Chinese brethens who are BN-friendly/ those truly sincere WOULD PLEASE SPEAK UP AND STAND AGAINST RACISM TO NON-CHINESE (i.e Malays, bumiputras and Indians). The problem now is that when a Malay is racist towards a Chinese everyone will whack that Malay, including Malays themselves.

But when Chinese is racist towards the Malays, no Chinese would speak up against it. Sometimes they even fan the fire. When you're silent against things like it, it's consent.

SO PLEASE MODERATE CHINESE, when your people are racist against the Malays, Indians or the Bumis, PLEASE SPEAK OUT AGAINST THEM. Tell them it's BAD to do that. Don't let them play the victim all the time.

You only need to look at the comments by racist DAP chauvinists in MalaysiaKini, Malaysian Insider and Malaysia Today to see what makes the Malay angry. Blatant remarks on how the Malays are lazy, slovenly, tongkat addicts.
Unchecked remarks on how Muslims jenis suka rogol anak sendiri.
Comments on 'I don't care about Malay language, I care about feeding my family only. that is my only concern' (I screencapped this gold, because this guy obviously doesn't have Malay friends).

Yes, I am also pissed but we are still one nation, with different races living next to each other. They contributed to the mess and I think they try to do some collateral damage, to calm down the irrational behaviour of the youth.

We may be able to forgive because it is probably in God's will but we should not forget. It should make us, the bumiputras, stronger and unite. Together, we will win.

P/s It is not normal for me to be this calm, actually, but being a batu api is not a solution. Hatred is the cause of all evils and it has not and will not take us anywhere.

  21. Anon 16:27, we are NOT upset becoz BN didn't win 2/3 majority. Did we accuse the Chinese back then in PRU12? No!

We are upset becoz Chinese in Gelang Patah <3% supported their exMB and the rest supported a parachute candidate that didn't do anything for them except incite hatred.

GP Chinese showed the other Malaysians that Chinese are racist-at-heart when they totally betrayed their MB that helped and supported them for the past 18 years!

Gelang Patah is the game changer. IF Ghani Othman won, Malays will not be so angry like now even though DAP won 37 (minus GP) Parliment seats.

"the urban Malays are not supporting them" - who says? Malays votes are always split, if not to PAS then other parties like S46 and now PKR. Malays will never unite under one party. So don't make sweeping statement that urban Malays do not support BN.

  29. Annie,
Before this we have at least one thing in common, one of my parents is also Chinese. Now I can add one more to that list - our shared view of the real Malaysian Chinese.

And to those who still don't get it, it is what happened in Gelang Patah that opened up our eyes. If a moderate Malay, who has been serving the Chinese community well, can't even get 3% of their votes, then what does say about them? So Ghani was your friend for 18 years and suddenly Kit Siang parachuted in, u toss him out?
And all the Mahathir/Perkasa/Umno arguments matter not cause Ghani's track record spoke for itself. Not to mention other seats.

By the way, the Chinese voted for Chinese power, that explains the pattern of voting those aligned to their interests. Truly believed they'd come out on top (with the help of PR Malays, of course). And now that it's all exposed, they must back Anwar or face 5 years second guessing the Malays. Enter damage control mode.

I shunned RPK's blog in the past and would be the last person that you expect to recommend reading RPK's articles. However, the Part 4 of the above-mentioned article interest me. All DAP has to do is spread the Chinese votes to other areas (ask the voters to change their voting centres) and PR will be able to topple BN.

The Sabah & Sarawak bumiputeras have united, so the Malays in P.M. must do the same. Let the Chinese play whatever and however they want to play. Use our brain to act not our emotion.

I can understand your sentiment... I feel the same here...anyway, can i have your comment on the following FB post that I received pls

Yes what more you want the Chinese to do???

    A Foreigner Comments on Malaysia

Comments from a foreign writer Bryant on Mahathir's article: Kaki dalam Kasut where he says the Chinese are the real masters of Malaysia.

This article was written without fear or favour, and it is up to us to digest individually the truth of the matter, especially for all Malaysians (irrespective of race, colour, creed or religion).

To: The highly respected Tun Mahathir,

China is coming up, India is coming up, Vietnam is coming up and now even Russia is on the rise. In this flat world that is all wired up and regardless whether we are Malaysian Malay, Chinese or Indian, and if Malaysia does not progress, all of us would become history of this
    country!

Without the Malay, Chinese could not do well in the country and without the Chinese, Malay would not do well. Both have to work together to bring up Malaysia and mitigate the ascute impact that is being brought about by the globalisation.

For me, a true leader is someone who has the foresight that not only focus on one particular group in the country but take care of the future of everyone. A good leader is someone who knows what is the biggest threat the country is facing and direct the people to fight off the threat. A leader is also someone who is impartial that has the ability to promote harmony in the country for a long period of time.

UMNO is a political loser that leads the country to nowhere. They do not understand what is going on in the outside world. They have no clue where Malaysia will be in the next 30 years. With the 3 new superpowers, i.e India , China and Russia standing tall and high together with the USA and the European Union, they do not know what kind of world it would be and how Malaysia is going to compete and share the ever smaller slice of cake of the world economy. They only know how to get the Malays to fight with other Non-Malays on tiny issues within Malaysia , while the races know jolly well that the issues they are fighting are trivial and is totally self-satisfying.

UMNO does not give a damn to how the poor Malays are going to live in the future and they do not care about the real benefits of the poor Malays. They only want the votes from them. The NEP is a good evidence on how they benefit the cronies, instead of the poor Malays. Despite all their despicable acts they are still in the power.

  37. The highly respected Tun,

As you are aware, the Malays control the rights to all the lands and all other natural resources in this country. They control all government institutions, GLC and State owned companies. The Malays dominate the lawmaking process in Malaysia ; The Malays control the decision making process in formulating the economy policies. The Malays own the largest national assets and the Malays are given shares in the public listed companies for free. The Malays have also been given all kind of priorities when it comes to buying properties, awarding of public contracts, tertiary education opportunities, awarding of scholarships and even getting a job in government departments.

With all these privileges and rights enjoyed by the Malays, you are saying nothing has been done enough to help the Malays to catch up with other races mainly the Chinese. Then what else should Malaysia do to satisfy the Malays? Did the Chinese seize or rob anything away from
the Malays or was all their wealth, a result of their hard work? If it is all due to their hard work, why do you say it is unfair? I don't quite get your point here.

May I humbly ask you what do you expect the Chinese to do if your so-called NEP did not achieve the desired result? Would the Malays be happy if the ethnic Chinese in this country do any of the followings:

    - surrender their assets and hard earned money to the Malays unconditionally
    - not to engage in any business activities;
    - not to score As in all sort of examinations;
    - not to make money that is more than the Malays are earning;
    - not to advance to higher education; or
    - renounce their citizenships and go back to China or migrate to some other countries?

  38. I am a foreigner but I am surprised that your intention is to divide your own country. I think you are mainly targeting the Chinese.
Frankly, tell us, what do you expect the Chinese to do in order to achieve what is so called equality" meant by you?

Tun, after all these criticism you have against the present government, I feel that you are starting to loose your rationality on your arguments. You have run out of good reasons to convince us. I guess it could be due to your accumulating jealousy of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, your former counterpart in Singapore .

But reality is always hard to accept. No matter how, you have to accept the fact that he is regarded the Father of Singapore but you are not regarded the Father of Malaysia; you have to accept the fact that Mr Lee is able to influence the government of Singapore until the day he dies but you have not been able to influence the government from the moment you stepped down as PM.

You must also accept the fact that he is still very popular on the world stage and a leader respected by many but you are not quite. Because of these jealousies, you are starting to accumulate imbalances in yourself that lead you to embark on a series of action to attack
your successors. It is very obvious that you are not happy when your successors are more popular than you. Is there any good of doing that? What is your intention? Can't you take it easy?

  39. During your time, you criticised most of the developed countries especially the Western Countries out of jealousy and after stepping down as PM you criticise every single soul remaining in the cabinet for not listening to you. When will you ever stop criticising any people? Can't you respect the decision of others?

Back to your recent blog, is there anything wrong with the Chinese in this country? Did they seize or rob the money away from the Malays? Did they have the ability to come out with any policies to marginalise the Malays? Did they dominate the lawmaking process of this country?
Did they formulate the economy policies in this country? Did they control the government departments in this country? Did they control the state owned companies and GLC in this country? Did they control the country's largest oil companies and banks?

    You know the answer right?

Malays are the one who dominate the the lawmaking process of this country; Malays are the one that formulate the economy policies in this country that favours the Malays. Malays are the ones that control the government departments, state owned companies and GLC. Malays are the one that control the funds in this country. Malays are also the ones that control the largest oil companies and banking industry in this country. With all these rights enjoyed by the Malays, what else do you want the Chinese to do? Surrender their houses and savings and their wealth that they earned with their hardwork to the Malays? Or ask all the Chinese to renounce their citizenship and go back to China?

Have you ever thought of the fact after 30 years of implementing NEP, why it does not achieve the desired result? Or it does achieve but being denied.

Under the NEP there are a series of policies that favors the Malays.
If with all these policies, it still does not give the Malays what they want, what else do you want the Chinese to do? Is the Chinese to be blamed because they are too hard working? Or the Malays to be blamed because they do not treasure the opportunities given?

You know very well the NEP has been misused and it only benefits the cronies. So if you have designed NEP to only benefits the cronies, please don't say it is the problem of Chinese that NEP does not achieve its result. It has nothing to do with the Chinese but NEP and the Malay themselves.

This is a globalised world, Chinese and Malays should not be fighting against each other because Malaysia is competing with other countries.
China used to be backward and lagging behind Malaysia but now they have caught up and have even surpassed Malaysia . Can we ask them to slow down their development? If they refuse to listen, can we make a complaint to the United Nations that China is developing too fast and
this is very unfair to Malaysia , which adapts a more passive approach? Who gives you the right to prevent others from progressing?

Who do you think you are? This is a flat world (Obviously Tun did not read the book named "The World is Flat"). Don't be so narrow minded to only focus on the Chinese or Malay in Malaysia . We should now look at the world as a flat world. If Malaysia does not progress, no matter we are Malays or Chinese, we would be extinct one day!

    Have a God-blessed day.

Perhaps one of the most humourous decision they made was to revert to Malay in the teaching of mathematics and science because there is insufficient teachers to teach the subjects in English. Why must they destroy the use of English in education over the last 35 years to the extend that they can't even find teachers for the subject. It can only be pure arrogance. Even China is adopting the use of English in their education system

      2. The only people extinct are those who do not have any value in themselves, only looking at others to be better off instead of working with full confidence for betterment of his own society/ people. We are not people with inferiority complex to look high on others because of skin colour.

      3. Japanese people is still alive and kicking even though they don't speak english that much. They have not extinct even though they had suffered two atomic bombs. Yet they don't speak English that much. And they are very advance.

      4. Learning something is about understanding the principles behind it that make the things work. It is universal and not limited by languages. The things that facilitate learning are level of Curiosity, and the level of willingness to answer questions of What, Why, Which, and How. These questions are available in all languages. Because we are human irrespective of race, those curiosity to asks and to find answers are ingrained in us.

      4. Only distorted mentality and brainwashed mentality would view others as higher then themselves and would emulate and to be like the 'higher' people/ race/ language in everything they do. Thus pointing fingers for such and such to be not following this 'higher creature' enough...Consequently, this people would have narrow view of: to progress is to be like them...

4.Blaming one race shall not solve anything but sowing hatred between each other.

      5. It is also incorrect to accuse one race to dominate every single thing in this planet, thus cause failure to whatever policy being planned and implemented.

      6. Surely, there are many factors that contributed to failure of a policy as we live interdependent with each other. One race is so in control of their supply and chain network that hesitated to let go even an inch. The other is so willing to accommodate others that willing to part with the privileges given.

      7. Until when one race would always want to play blaming each other game as we are living in the same boat?

  45. The only truths in the Star paper lies in the back page. If the Star is so for the opposition, pls openly declare instead of being clandestine. I hv stopped buying the Star and i hope more people will do the same. Let's start a campaign to put this paper out of business. Another campaign would be " I do not want Anwar Ibrahim as my next PM coz' i do not like his UGLY FACE ". Since 1999, he is the one causing the people of Malaysia to split.Pls vote him out.He will not deliver as what he promised. He is only out for revenge. Why can't the Govt act fast enough to arrest him and his perpetrators for the illegal gatherings after PRU13? Or are the Police so "divided" now???

  47. "Buy Chinese Last" is not a racial thing if you consider the fact that for more than 50 years, the Chinese people been practicing "Buy Chinese First" attitude anyway. "Chinese First" attitude is a a very old sign of Chinese racism in the business and commerce circles. When I said 'old', I meant 4000 years old of hardcore racism that has been tolerated by the Malay people for so many years.

You voted for DAP, you voted for intolerance by opening up the Pandora's box.

  48. Kenapa mesti adanya rasis? Ini semua propaganda. Dont you see it? Dimana naluri keharmonian kita? Kemenangan BN adalah kenyataan, kita terima and menantikan janji janji dikotakan oleh kerajaan baru. Tidak perlu menyindir and menpertikaikan lagi isu perkauman. Kalau nak boikot jugak, please go ahead your choice. But please understand one thing, not all Chinese or Indian or Malays are the bad people. Peace.
