Marina's armpits as important as DoJ suits?

On Thursday last week (July 21) I wrote three posts in the wake of the announcement of US Department of Justice's (DoJ) civil lawsuits related to 1MDB,
A response to Annie's 136 pages of hard read

I had not written that many posts in a single day for quite a while.

The total number of pageviews of this blog on that day was 4,768.

Yesterday, I just wrote this seemingly inconsequential post about Marina Mahathir and her armpits,

And the total number of pageviews of this blog yesterday was 4,433.

To prove that I'm not making this up, here's a screenshot of this blog's latest monthly pageviews chart

The two spikes in the red circle are readings of pageview counts on those two days.

So, what does that tells us?

For me, it's  an indication that what to many seems insignificant may actually be almost as important for Malaysians as the big issue.

Yes, what Marina Mahathir wear may have almost the same amount of impact as an allegation that billions of ringgit were stolen from us all.

That's the reality of things in this country.

We actually care about the "small things".

Of course some of us will try to deny this, claiming that we are more matured and sophisticated than that.

But, for me that's pride talking more than anything else.

That's why we failed to see the full extent of what's coming to us.

For example, we knew that the Chinese tsunami was coming prior to GE13 but we never expected it to be so huge that BN almost got wiped out by it.

Hey, the Chinese cannot be that fickle minded that they would swallow every garbage that DAP dished out to them, so thought many of us.

I was one of those with that kind of thinking back then.

And how wrong I was, right?

The same thing happened these past few months.

Everyone thought the Chinese are as a whole in the DAP's bag.

The results of the Sarawak election as well as the Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar by-elections proved that we were wrong.

We failed to realise that the Chinese actually do care about the seemingly small things such as the not so nice behaviour of DAP people.

I bet the DAP people didn't see that coming too.

So, lesson of the day was that - pakai lah baju yang tak nampak ketiak so that the pakchik and makchik dikampung tak salahkan cara ayah mendidik awak.

Don't be so high and mighty to think that we can do anything we want because it should be so trivial for anyone to care and censure us about it.

The reality is, Malaysians care about all those things, okay.

Now you know why despite all the allegations against PM DS Najib Razak, he may still be our prime minister after the next general election.

  4. Annie,

    Ha ha, yeah.

But ketiak discussions are a bit trivial, so I didn't even bother to comment.

Please don't become like that chubby lump of hypocritical pig fat, who whacks other women for being fat and ugly, somehow forgetting that (- seriously -) she is one of the ugliest women I have ever laid eyes on. Yukkkkkkk.

Hmmmmmmm, too close to lunchtime to think of Blobby.

Buatlah sesuatu supaya rakyat kita tak pilih pencuri masa pru nanti. Tulis sesuatu yang benar la. Tak yah nak alih isu tiap hari.

  9. Annie,

I'd like to suggest a better topic - the Bugis pirate is using the overpriced (by double) East Coast Railway to clear off 1MDB and Jho Low's debts!

Najib plans for over US$7 billion in accumulated 1MDB/Jho Low company debts to be wiped out by taxpayers in a secret deal between his Ministry of Finance and the Chinese state company CCCC (China Communications Construction Company).

“The Malaysian Government is planning to award an overvalued project to launder money in order to fill the loophole of 1MDB.

The plan is to award the East Coast Rail Project to a Chinese Company, China Communication Construction Company Limited (CCCC). The initial budget for the project is MYR 30b, but they have overvalued the project for another MYR 30b, making it MYR 60b.

The extra MYR 30b will be use to launder out cash to 1MDB related companies.
The project has been proposed to the cabinet on 25/7/2016 and will be approved by the cabinet on 27/7/2016 with total value of MYR 60b.

The Chinese company, which is backed by the China Government, will help pay off the 1MDB dept in advance and progressively. In return, this Chinese company will be rewarded with high profits and land, and of course extra influence with the Malaysian government”.

Jibby loves the (China) Chinese, really.

(BTW, two of Jho Low's companies in the SRC scandal are being bailed out under the same deal).

Why do you think Malaysia is blocking ASEAN action against Chinese aggression in the South China Sea?

Because the criminal PM of Malaysia dah "jual bontot" to China - that's why.

Our national sovereignty is under threat.

Too many countries have the Bugis lanun by his balls.

This is dangerous for all of us.

The Rulers must act to safeguard national sovereignty.

    Daulat Tuanku!

  10. For the Life of Annie to write or not to write ? Seems you cant satisfy everyone. Readers start to be judgemental. Judging you does not define who you are. It defines who they are. Annie be happy with everyone and ignore their faults. Still if you find yourself the victim of other people bitterness, smallness and insecurities remember things could get worse you could be them. Keep on blogging !

  11. Nelson Mandela on things that matter:

  16. Annie,

3 articles on various issues in a day and you get 4768 views.

1 article on Marina Mahatir and you get 4433 views.

    Hmm...

I guess you could say that it is the small things which attract Malaysians but there is another possibility.

Say what you like but Marina Mahatir is a well-respected figure in her own right, so any comment related to her will likely attract a certain premium in terms of page views from her supporters, journalists, her media people, her lawyers, etc etc.

On top of that, there is the female factor.

As I pointed out previously, armpit hair is a female thing and I suspect that this blog is very likely to be frequented by more females than you may think.

There is, of course, no way to determine how many of those 4433 views are by female readers but I am willing to bet that there will be lots.

If there is a spike next week in underarm waxings in Malaysian beauty salons, you could safely say that you have a lot of female readers here.

Now, where can I get some graph paper to plot some pretty pictures? I think I will use a nice fuchsia for last week's underarm waxings, a bright blue for this week and a fluorescent green for next week.

And oh, I forgot to mention that M Zin could also be right in suggesting that there may be those with an armpit fetish as well who just can't resist having a peek.

  23. Najib made a statement over TV3 suku earlier saying that DoJ suit has nothing to do with 1MDB. Money stolen from 1MDB now better known as the den of thieves. and yet nothing go to do with 1MDB??Only the most incompetent, and the most stupid will believe this liar's statement.

To Jho Low 1MDB means 1 More Draft Beer while to the rakyat, it means Drowning Malaysia Since 2009.

  24. Annie, since Marina's armpits gained as much importance as DoJ suits, perhaps i would like to suggest that you write the similar topic but this time should be -Rosmah's Armpit.
