A definitely stronger Pas

As expected, the ulama faction won the Pas election as announced last night.

Party president DS Abdul Hadi Awang led the victory which will see the Islamist party reverting back to its conservative roots.

You can check out the outcome of the election here at Malaysia Online (The Mole),

Hadi remains as PAS president

The progressive faction were almost totally wiped out.

Umno people who think this means Pas will be pulling out of Pakatan may want to throw a party in celebration but I think they should pause a bit and THINK.

Are they very sure this latest development in Pas is really good for Umno.

Go to the link above and check out the line-up of Pas new set of leaders.

They are almost all serious looking committed Islamists.

All the jokers are now gone.

Umno people cannot joke around anymore about Mat Sabun, Din Puduraya and other funny Erdogan personalities after this.

Now, try to remember what I was trying to warn about the re-emergence of an overwhelmingly dominant conservative Pas leadership,

Umno, you realize this coming danger from Pas or not?

Now, you check once more the list of new Pas leaders and compare them with that of Umno's.

Then think about what is happening in this country.

Well, who do you think the Malays will now choose to lead them?

Previously, Umno could tell the Malays that the party provides for them a better and dignified existence.

Can it still claim so?

Pas has always promise those who support the party an easier passage to paradise in the afterlife.

That's its main selling point.

Don't you think the Malays, after all the nonsense which currently happen in the country, may be tempted this time to believe in such promise?

Personally, I think they may.

    1. Islam yang Syumul17 June 2015 at 23:32

  2. its not really the syurga thing. thts up to us individually. had nothing to do with pas.

the factor is najib and his co. tht is why umno will now see the malay tsunami. our votes will no longer be with umno. perhaps thts najib specialty. creating tsunami after tsunami. personally, as soon as pas distance itself from the liberals and cauvinist, ill be very comfortable to vote them.

  5. I have been following PAS rhetoric for up to a decade now and I can safely say the conservatives will lead their party back to being a regional powerhouse in the northern states of Peninsula Malaysia.

They're good in promising heaven & the application of God's law but they are terrible administrators of the government, like how they were only able to rule Kedah and Terengganu for one term and could not even capture the tiny state of Perlis (with an ADUN composition of 15 seats!). And you can see that PAS does not care about the economic development of the states that they rule because when they know they do not have enough money, the do the simplest things by giving away logging concessions to generate cash flow (like what happened in Pedu, Kedah & what is happening in Lojing, Kelantan), which has caused untold environmental disaster to the once pristine areas.

If the Malays are *truly* pious and God-fearing people, dah lama Perak and Pahang become PAS bastions. The fact is Malays are pragmatic people - they know that too much religiosity amounts to nothing and they want a government that would provide good services and administration. PAS is a good political party but not a good government.

losing 42bil at the risk of bankrupting Malaysia ?

is there anyone who can do worst then tht ? in fact thts like the definition of bad governance.

so let us vote like the usual. the lesser evil. only this time the side has switch

    1. Najib is now making good moves.

His recent trip to East Malaysia was to ensure the fixed deposit is there.

He knows that there will be those Malays who are die hard PAS. He knows that credible new faces like that pitted against Wan Azizah may alter the thinking of the non die hard PAS members. He is now building bridges with the non muslim communities while asking Perkasa to tone down.

He is in the process of fixing the !MDB matter.

He'll do alright. After GE14, he'll still be PM.

  10. PAS should be very, very careful - especially if they have avowed and "closet" ISIS sympathisers in their midst.

The authorities have already expressed concerns about ISIS and its proxies making inroads into Malaysia.

It won't take much for a militantly Islamic PAS to come on the radar of the US.

If it does, and the Americans decide to move against it, there isn't much that the ulamas can do.

  12. Doesn't matter who became pas leader, as long as dap is still living in the same house as pas, then pas is as good as dap. I am not interested, sorry.

  13. PAS is still a member of Pakatan Rakyat. That means it will continue to be dominated and bullied by DAP. All this is for the sake of attaining power at the National level. I wonder whether Islam encourage servitude to a racist and nepotism tinged party. Perhaps what some people call PAS - 'Parti Angguk Saja' may have some truth in it.
