Singaporean rhapsody

A friend asked why I put this blog in mourning with the passing of Lee Kwan Yew.

My friend doesn't like LKY and thought I share the same sentiment.

My answer to him was that, it's my condolences for Singaporeans, plain and simple.

LKY is the father of Singapore and what he did for the island state is admirable.

That, despite him being a thorn in Malaysia's side for so long.

Looking back, I believe LKY was just another guy who tried to do good for himself and others.

My favorite picture of LKY and wife Kwa Geck Choo when they were students in UK.  LKY was in love just like others. Anyone capable of falling in love can't be too bad.

LKY did what he had to do for his people.

I have no quarrel with Singaporeans and wish them well.

In fact, half of the younger members of my family are Singaporeans.

So, today, I share their sadness.

May Malaysians and Singaporeans always be good friends.

    1. MR LEE'S RED BOX

Mr Lee Kuan Yew had a red box. When I worked as Mr Lee’s Principal Private Secretary, or PPS, a good part of my daily life revolved around the red box. Before Mr Lee came in to work each day, the locked red box would arrive first, at about 9 am.

As far as the various officers who have worked with Mr Lee can remember, he had it for many, many years. It is a large, boxy briefcase, about fourteen centimetres wide. Red boxes came from the British government, whose Ministers used them for transporting documents between government offices. Our early Ministers had red boxes, but Mr Lee ...

  3. LKY is really one of a kind. He had done great things for Singapore. You may call him a dictator and ruled with an iron fist but this dictator does everything for his country and not for himself. There are no scandals, corruptions and abuse of power for own gains for this man. For that I salute this man.

  5. When the Singapore PM made announcement about the demise of LKY, he used the Malay Language first.

Both LKY and LHL spoke very fluent Malay. Malaysian Chinese should be ashamed of themselves if they could not even make a complete sentence in Malay, calling themselves Malaysians and citizens of Malaysia.

LKY used to relate how during WWII he saw the Japanese soldiers being very obedient to and respect their leader, opined that that was one of the quality of the Japanese that made them successful. Well in Malaysia, not only that people with this type of quality is hard to find, there are even more who like to spread rumours with intent to change the Country's leaders.

LKY might have been an ass to Malaysia but he was doing that to his Singapore. If there's such a leader in Malaysia like LKY who would sincerely work for the prosperity and success of Malaysia, I will respect him 100% and support him 100% and will not care two shit if other countrys' people think that he's kiasu skema or anything.

Having said that, even for Dr. M, when one day he passes away, if I'm still alive, I will grieve and pay my last respect to him. I will not do that to Najib or Pak Lah or anyone amongst the Pakatan Haram.

  6. All leaders have their pros and cons. Same with TDM. There are many lovers and haters. In fact, as long as we are human, this will be part and parcel of our life. Love him or hate him, I believe he had done very well for Singapore. The same goes for TDM. IMO, one good thing about LKY vs TDM is that LKY has successfully plan (or rather put) his successor so that his legacy will continue. Call it nepotism or whatever, as long as it works.

Today, many things that TDM built were shattered as a result from his successors.

  12. The only thing that I admired LKY was that he managed to exterminate religious influence from public sphere. Religion, in Singapura, is left behind at home, in the care of the child's own parents. Even religious greetings or wishes, of all religion, in radio and television broadcast, are forbidden.
However, I have doubt whether LKY can do that in a Malay Majority State. Singapura, of-course have no 'rural' constituent.

The 1st. mistake that Tun Dr.M made, a year after becoming PM was bringing that 'Rear Admiral', from ABIM into UMNO. ABIM was then aligned to PAS, an extreme Islamist Party. Everybody in PAS was furious when Anwar joined UMNO. With Anwar in the Government, BN's popularity amongst Malays, increased. This excited Dr.M. As a mediocre graduate of Malay Studies from UM, no body exactly know where Anwar acquired his religious education. Somehow he managed to masquerade as a pious man, even manage to lead prayers in Mosque and Suraus, now and then. The 'Islamisation' of schools and the government, soon ensued. Dr.M played along as PAS influence, somewhat diminished. This was the 2nd. mistake, that caused Malaysian regression.

With too much religion, people are easily fooled and misled. Even the brilliant Dr.M was hoodwinked by Anwar's pious deeds and behaviour, to the extent of grooming Anwar as successor. In the eyes of Dr.M, in the early 90s, Anwar is adorable. The trust in Anwar was so great that he literally gave Anwar the Finance portfolio, cum Deputy PM.

The 3rd mistake that Dr.M made was dismissing outright, Police intelligence presented by the then IGP, about Anwar's sexcapade and also that sodomy allegation in Parliament by Karpal Singh and Mat Sabu. That letter by Ummi Hafilda Ali too. Ummi Hafilda is sister to Azmin Ali, now Dato' MB Selangor.

(Nallakaruppan, Anwar's former best friend and tennis-partner, even publicly alleged that Anwar, once had lead a Raya Puasa prayers, after buggering a young man, a day early. Why Anwar don't sue him is anyone's guess).

Therefore, Anwar was Dr.M's greatest mistake to the Malaysian people. If Tun Dr.M had any other greater regrets, this is it.

Had Dr.M, brought his sons into politics, like what LKY did, Malaysia would not be in such a dire political mess, today. Who give a damn about nepotism when DAP & PKR practice it themselves, to the hilt.

"Anwar Ibrahim has many known ties to the global U.S Muslim Brotherhood (Ikhwanul Muslimin) including helping to found the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) where he currently serves as a director, serving as a trustee for the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) during the 1970’s and early 1980’s, and appearances at numerous Brotherhood-linked conferences. He was a participant in the 2011 U.S.-Islamic World Forum, held in the US for the first time and which included a large number of individuals tied to the Global Muslim Brotherhood as well as their supporters."

"The Global Muslim Brotherhood also includes important Saudi institutions, many of which were founded by Muslim Brothers who settled in the Kingdom. These include the Muslim World League (MWL) and the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), both of which were created to propagate SAUDI 'WAHHABI' ISLAM, a conservative version of Islam that teaches that the only true form of the religion is that which it is believed was practiced centuries ago."

Al-Juburi's "religious inclinations" were almost wholly politically motivated, and as recent evidence has borne out, based entirely for personal interests - not the welfare of the rakyat as he would have us believe.

Saya amat sayangkan Tun Dr.M.

Semua pendapat di atas, saya rumuskan setelah membaca 'A Doctor In The House', dua kali.

Buggering the backsides of boys and young men is unfortunately part of the hidden Arab bedouin culture. I suppose Anwar Ibrahim just fit in with them ....hehehehe

      BOYS OF THE TALIBAN
      http://archive.frontpagemag.com/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=852

" .... homosexuality is “extremely common” in many parts of the Arab world. Indeed, even though homosexuality is officially despised in this culture and strictly prohibited and punishable by imprisonment, incarceration even death, yet having sex with boys or effeminate men is actually a social norm. Males serve as available substitutes for unavailable women. The key is this: the male who does the penetrating is NOT considered to be homosexual or emasculated any more than if he were to have sex with his wife, while the male who is penetrated is emasculated. The boy, however, is not considered to be emasculated since he is not yet considered to be a man. A man who has sex with boys is simply doing what many men (especially unmarried ones) do. And this reality is connected to the fact that - as scholar Bruce Dunne has demonstrated - sex in Islamic-Arab societies is not about mutuality between partners, but about the adult male's achievement of pleasure through violent domination."

  17. Lee Kuan Yew: Why Singapore's Extraordinary Leader Will Be Missed
    Comment Now Follow Comments

LEE KUAN YEW was one of the great statesmen of the post-WWII era. He made Singapore an economic powerhouse, demonstrating that so-called natural resources aren’t necessary for prosperity, that the key is creating an environment in which human ingenuity can thrive. He didn’t tolerate corruption; to eliminate the temptation and attract capable people, Lee paid government officials high salaries. He kept a tight grip on spending and pushed down taxes; the top rate on personal incomes is all of 20%. He knew the folly of weak money; the Singapore dollar looks like the Rock of Gibraltar compared with most currencies—including the U.S. dollar, most of the time.

    2. It is sad and disheartening to read that some commenters here (which I am sure are Malays, hence Muslims) are disrespecting the dead especially, a former leader of a State.

    3. I always thought that as Muslims, we have to respect our neighbors. Where is our sensitivity? Did not they already know even the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) visited his non-believers neighbors when they are ill or dead?

    4. I would like to think that it is better for one to keep quiet than for him/her to say something bad about someone (especially in death). Why do we have to swear and stuffs in this instance? Would that make you feel good about yourself?

    5. There is a lesson for us to learn here (which I am sure half of us did not notice). Is that while one is coroneted as a King, another ‘King’ died, which mean to symbolize that no matter who you are, one day you would meet your Maker. It is humbling, to say the least.

  24. Today in Sin Chew Jit Poh I read that the Nanyang University Alumni said that they will not forgive LKY for shutting down the University. For those who do not understand this episode in the Malayan history, Singapore's joining the Federation of Malaysia got something to do with the Communist threat, and the joining with Malaysia could somewhat neutralise the threat.

Nanyang University was at that time very influential amongst the Chinese educated university graduates, and the taukehs who were sympathisers and supporters of Chinese communists. LKY was an English educated politician through and through. The chauvinistic Chinese did not take him quite seriously then.

What he did to those Chinese educated people formed a strong basis to Singapore's success. Looking back, the problem faced by Malaysia now as created by DAPigs and their supporters who are largely Chinese independent schools graduates and their leaders who are mostly from Taiwanese universities, one can only admire LKY who was amongst the very few in Malayan history who actually know the threat of these people and know the exact way to handle them.

If not for LKY, what we have down south would be People's Republic of Xinjiapo. For this alone, Malaysian people should thank LKY.

    1. Now, isn't this deception at its subtlest? While Nanyang University professors and students were certainly supporters of mainland China's struggles against the Japanese invaders in WWII, many of them were champions of SunYat Sen and the Kuomintang Republic of China - read Chinese civilizational values. That's when the old fox Mao turned against his own people with his brand of communism and initiated the bloody farce called the Cultural Revolution and all hell broke loose in China!
Prove to us that any of the teachings of Confucianism or Buddhism or Taoism exhorts people to racial chauvinism .... but which is inherent in Red China. But then you are correct at the same time: Kit Siang and the DAPigs are still in love with Chin Peng and his Maoist rebellion in Malaysia. Throw in prosperity evangelism and development-above-people and wallah!

  26. In every decision that the government makes, there will be some who get benefited and some who get adversely affected, there will be some who support, and some who oppose.

What makes the Pakatan Haram, especially DAPigs, so abominable is their propensity to actively look for those who are unhappy with the government decision, magnifying the grievances, propagating the issue to become an open conflict, and thereby creating hatred and distrust against the government and disunity amongst the people.

The iron fist of LKY is the only solution to many problems Malaysia faces today as a result of the illicit and irresponsible acts of the Pakatan Haram leaders, especially of the DAPigs, calculated at turning this Country into a turmoil. Najib's smiley pinkish lips might be useful to sell ice cream but useless to fight these treacherous black hearted traitors. In fact, they would make the problem worse.

With the demise of LKY, let's hope for the emergence of a new great leader in Malaysia who will rescue the Country from the treacherous Pakatan Haram and put the useless pinkish lips to eternal retirement.
