Let the Malays and Bumiputera people gather on Dec 8

The first part of this story yesterday is about the police saying that

Muhammad Adib was not hit by fire engine

excerpts;

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun today maintained that firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim was indeed assaulted and not hit by a fire engine in a riot incident near the Sri Maha Mariamman temple in USJ25, Putra Heights early Tuesday.

Basiclly, the IGP was saying that the claim by temple people on how Muhammad Adib had suffered his injuries was not true.

Ya lah, for one thing, how can they said the mob were chasing and merely "tapping" on the retreating fire engines to stop them from dragging Muhammad Adib when the video clearly shows that the whole gang were attacking the vehicles.

Just look at the condition of the fire engine which was "tapped" by the "devotees".

And I think even if you ask Khabib what he thinks of the temple people's claim, I'm quite sure this would be his answer,

Meanwhile, the second part of the story yesterday was about the planned anti-ICERD gathering on Dec 8.

excerpts;

In another development, Mohamad Fuzi said police had yet to approve the rally pertaining to the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) that is due to take place in the federal capital on Dec 8.

“They (the organisers) have submitted the application ... we have called the organisers. Thus far, we have yet to give the permit as we need to carry out safety assessments, apart from the fact that they are also required to obtain approval from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL),” he said.

Personally, I think the authorities should let the gathering be held.

After all, the organisers had decided to hold it at Padang Merbok and not Dataran Merdeka after the government decided not to ratify ICERD.

After all, what's wrong with the Malays and Bumiputera people gathering like that to state their stand on what they claimed to be their rights.

It happened before and there was no disturbance....unlike when other "peaceful rallies" were held such as this one

or "peaceful gathering" such as this one,

I know that some Pakatan leaders and their bloggers had called for the anti-ICERD gathering to be stopped but I can't see why they were so worried about it.

I'm used to be against rallies too but now even Dr Mahathir and other leaders are actually okay with rallies.

In fact I'm hoping for Dr Mahathir and the other leaders to attend the gathering which was said to be for the rights of the Pribumi of this country as enshrined in the constitution.

After all, the name of their party is Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

So, what's wrong with a gathering of united Pribumi, right?

I don't think they should miss the opportunity as this gathering will probably be the first time the Malays and other Pribumi people will gather in true unity since 1946 when they opposed the Malayan Union which was to take away their rights, paving the way for this country's independence.

I'm quite sure it will be peaceful and no fireman will get beaten within inches of his life.

Furthermore, if this gathering is to be stopped, it could be interpreted as an attempt to muzzle the voice of the Bumiputera or even worse be deemed as a result of the temple riot.

"Oh, they are the ones who go crazy rioting, and we are the ones who are not allowed to gather to voice our rights," some Malays, or Orang Asli, or Dayak or Kadazan may say.

So, I think the authorities should let the gathering continue but of course they should provide security as during all those Bersih rallies of the past several years.

Like that baru lah Malaysia Baru yang demokratik and mengamalkan dasar freedom of speech and expression.

  1. Gather and rally by all means. Pakatan did that too so anything else would be plain hypocrisy. Though when the world asks you why you're rallying and you say you're opposed to those who oppose racism..just be prepared to see the smirk la. Good one to add the Malayan Union for context. Would expect nothing less from dumno scum like you Annie.

      No lah.

      Very unfair.

      Annie is So, So Caring.

She cannot see a dead dog funeral or pizza for autistic children go up in price without shedding tears.

      Real tears, okay.

Annie is worried ICERD will hinder the progress of the Bumi community.

(That's the perception, but actually every country can set its own rules within the framework.)

Hence Article 153 will be maintained.

Thanks to Article 153, all Malay families have 116.7 million in cash, in 26 different currencies, lying at home.

Along with 567 luxury handbags, 12,000 pieces of jewellery, and 423 watches.

And everyone has pink diamonds worth 27 million, too.

      Yes, everyone.

Annie has all of these things, that's why she is anti-ICERD.

After she gets to 600 handbags, she may re-consider.

      Kipidap, Annie, dongibab!

"KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 16 — The Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) had to take action against the mob outside Petaling Street this evening when they refused to budge and even resorted to shoving enforcers and pelting them with rocks, police explained today.

Senior Asst Comm Roslan Abdul Wahid, deputy director of commercial crimes, operations and intelligence, told reporters that in a face-off with demonstrators who insisted on marching through the popular shopping hotspot also known as Chinatown, at least two police personnel were injured."

    You forgot ahhhhhhh, Annie?

  15. Annie,

//The first part of this story yesterday is about the police saying that//

As in the case of Najib Razak and my need to wait until he faces a court of law, I am quite prepared to wait until Muhammad Adib recovers fully to tell us his own story.

//Personally, I think the authorities should let the gathering be held.//

No reason to deny UMNO and PAS a reason to celebrate.

They have not had much to celebrate since May 9th :)

//unlike when other "peaceful rallies" were held such as this one//

Which one of those photos show the demonstration where innocent passerbys were dragged out of cars and bashed by Jamal Jamban's boys? I think it was Jamal Jamban and his boys, wasn't it?

Or are those only photos of Bersih protesters?

Anyway, the mooted UMNO/PAS anti-ICERD rally should not cause any problems with violence because it is a celebratory event.

Unless of cos, UMNO/PAS supporters think that celebrations should always include some gratuitous violence against innocent bystanders, I dunno.

//as this gathering will probably be the first time the Malays and other Pribumi people will gather in true unity since 1946//

Eeeerrrr... no lah ... not "the Malays and other Pribumis", OK?

    Just the Malays, OK?

And even then, not all Malays are racists or choose to take advantage of minorities, so I don't think they will be there.

The other Pribumis? Well, the Orang Asli and the natives of Sabah and Sarawak can go whistle Dixie for their rights "as enshrined in the constitution" as far as UMNO and PAS are concerned - bukan Melayu, bukan Muslimin, ape dia mau?

//I'm quite sure it will be peaceful and no fireman will get beaten within inches of his life//

    Heheheheheh!!

No guarantees for orang India or orang Cina passing by, OK? :)

//and we are the ones who are not allowed to gather to voice our rights," some Malays, or Orang Asli, or Dayak or Kadazan may say//

In the last 60 years, Orang Asli, Dayaks, Kadazans dan lain2 have been screwed and left to rot and die in the jungle.

Did UMNO and PAS EVER speak up once for the rights of these Pribumi "as enshrined in the constitution" ?

Orang Asli, Dayaks, Kadazans dan lain2 have been largely voiceless except for ppl like Siti Kassim.

Will things be different for the Orang Asli, Dayaks, Kadazans dan lain2 under a Pakatan government?

I hope so but I dunno cos I have not heard too much from PH about affirmative action for them so far.

As far as I know, it is all about affirmative action for the Melayus a la this anti-ICERD rally :)

//So, I think the authorities should let the gathering continue//

Yup, let UMNO and PAS celebrate their racist victory.

I am sure there will be prayers aplenty.

Let them show the world how Islam encourages racism and oppression.

Most non-Muslims in Malaysia have no real idea what Islam is about anyway, so it is important for UMNO and PAS to show those dumb non-Muslims what Islam is all about, right? :)

A racist who no longer cares about being called a racist, is nonetheless, still a racist.

Neo-Nazis don't care if they are called racists but they are still racists, arent they?

    //Many called me racist too//

In your case, you don't care because you are probably not a racist.

At least, I dfon't think you are based on what I gather from your writings.

//Many racists call others racists to hide their own racism anyway.//

Yes, and many UMNO and PAS supporters are precisely like that :)

Into that I would also include many DAP supporters, specifically those from a Chinese background. :)

In the case of UMNO and PAS, I believe the primary factor which drives that racism is their perversion of Islam.

Nobody in UMNO or PAS seem to find it strange that Muslims can be racists!!

For those Chinese in DAP who are racist, the driving force for their racism is mainly from the years of racial discrimination they have suffered under UMNO.

These Chinese actually hate UMNO, but they can't distinguish UMNO from the average Malay-on-the-street, so they blindly hate all Malays.

The one thing which seems lost to many is that there are many Malays in UMNO and PAS who are not racist, and there are many Chinese in DAP who are not racists.

Well, with Pakatan now in power, I suspect the Chinese will feel less threatened by racial doscrimination and it may lessen in that segment of the community.

Meanwhile, my guess is that in UMNO amd PAS, racism will increase as it gets used to unite and rally Malays under the banner of Islam.

Oh yes, am I a racist for calling others racists?

Hmmm.. well, in a way, I am a racist - a racist for the human race :)

That was obvious a long time ago.

I think Papagomo should propose to Annie.

  28. Hello people

Do you all remember the origin of riot? In all the mud-slinging here everyone seems to have forgotten that the riot started because one group decided to invade a temple when they had no business in the temple. Holding priests and female devotees at knife-point and showing their butts to devotees. Regardless of the fact that the temple committee members were wrong in not wanting to relocate after agreeing to the consent judgement, this action of intrusion of temple was nevertheless wrong as well.

Prior to this incident there have been a lot of temple demolitions and relocations, but it has never descended into a riot. Think lah, would you be sitting quiet if your place of worship had been invaded?

Muhammad Adib was a casualty of the riot. The poor boy! I am most certain that he survived because of the extraordinary prayers from all Malaysians regardless of race and religion, and also the doctors who would have been under tremendous pressure to save him. I prayed because he was innocent and got “beaten within an inch of his life” because the temple was invaded and people couldn’t control their rage.

This topic right now has descended into instigating further anger at innocent people who had nothing to do with this in the first place. So please for this one time put aside your biases and see it for what it is.

    2. Ya, I know they shouldn't have done that. I know you are angry about the attack on first responders. When ordinary people descend into mobs there is no telling what they will do, attacking bombas, cops, innocent bystanders. If I can apologise on their behalf I will, but nasi sudah jadi bubur. All that I can say is I am so so grateful that the young man survived and if possible want start crowd funding for him because injuries such as his will require long term medical visits.

    3. This temple sits on 1.1 acre of land with today's worth of 14 to 15 millions ringgit
Compensation is estimated 1 to 1.5 millions
Will anyone with common sense sits still with this kind of equation?

Your comment is well-balanced and well-argue, but it's quite wasted when posted on the blog of an Umno macai like Annie.

"This topic right now has descended into instigating further anger at innocent people who had nothing to do with this in the first place. So please for this one time put aside your biases and see it for what it is."

Well, that's all they are programmed to do.

Obviously the results show the approach doesn't work, because even Johor kicked the corrupt racists out of power.

But some people like Annie cannot evolve.

  29. Yes, I also agree that Dec 8 rally should go on as planned lest PH is accused of being biased against the Malays since Tun Mahathir also attended the Bersih rally.

Actually not many r, because ur dear Annie is an "insignificant blogger" as she says, with about 10% readership of the main sopo blogs.

But the East Malaysian Christian Pribumi are looking to Annie for leadership, because she cares so much for them.

Dead dogs, autistic children and East Malaysian Christian Pribumi all look up to Annie as a hero.

  32. Annie,

//I hope the next time some idiots throw a pig head into a mosque//

Or cow heads in Indian templs?

Or protests over displays of crosses in churches?

Still want to tell me about the positives in religion?

At the moment, it seems to be about fighting and beating up ppl of other religions, isnt it?

For me, it is damn hard to see the positives in religion in situations like these.

No Islamic religious leader, no Christian religious leader, no Buddhist religious leader, no Taoist religious leader, no Hindu religious leader has stepped up to call for peace and unity so far.

At very least, Islamic and Hindu religious leaders would be expected to call for Malaysians to close ranks and unite, but nothing :)

But, it's only abt 7 mths since PH took over Putrajaya.

I dont expect them to fix the problem of race and religion in that short time.

It will take generations to fix race and religion problems, I think.

//The problem lies with people, not religion.//

    Yup, people are the problem.

The very best intent of religion mean nothing when compared to the will of the people :)

It's people that make the religion, not the other way round, don't you think?

Makes whatever divine being there is seem rather puny if it cannot even overcome the crass desires of simple folk, IMHO.
