Hudud no big deal, Umno likely to win by-elections

At a very nice place for the weekend.

Need a proper break from all the hustle and bustle.

Been quite awhile since I have a proper rest.

These past weeks had been quite hectic.

Did not even have proper time to blog properly.

This is only my 13th post this month, the lowest ever since I started this blog more than three years ago.

The lowest number of posts per month that I did previously was 18, which was in January last year.

I will try to be more hardworking after this.

As for today, things are getting quite interesting.

I saw news that Pas president DS Abdul Hadi Awang said DAP wants to be an enemy of Islam by opposing the tabling of a private member's bill on hudud in Dewan Rakyat on Thursday.

He also said Pas is not going to negotiate with Pakatan Harapan over the Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar by-elections.

I think these were all the fault of Guan Eng and his church gang for playing that Christian card too much last time.

Who asked them to fool around with the Kalimah Allah and Malay Bible issues.

Dumb idiots.

Because of those, it's now quite easy to accuse them of being anti-Islam.

That's the problem when people get too cocky.

Guan Eng and gang really know how to get cocky back then when the now dead Pakatan Rakyat appeared to be unstoppable.

Now things have turned upside down.

Fortunately for opposition supporters, Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat is no longer around.

Otherwise, it would be hard for Pas people to explain how Guan Eng turned from being akin to Khalifah Umar Abdul Aziz as described by the late Pas mursyidul am, into an enemy of Islam.

Nonetheless, I'm not going to read too much into this because the way Malaysian politics are, I wouldn't be surprised if Hadi suddenly, not too long from now, turned around and declare Guan Eng a "penyelamat ummah"...just like a particular blogger....

After all, Hadi used to tell Pas people to fight Umno because it's anti-Islam for upholding the country's secular laws instead of implementing hudud.

Remember Amanat Haji Hadi ?

I think he should make another amanat (declaration) about DAP.

Well, never mind.

Doesn't really make much difference. Politicians will always be like that.

So, what if hudud is to be implemented or the existing syariah laws be enhanced?

I'm not overly worried because I'm not planning to commit any serious crime.

As I remember it, the opposition supporters, including those from DAP said exactly that when they were still friends with Pas.

So, I'm now just follow the same lah,

But I'll probably be committing minor crimes...like dating a Chinese.

I may get flogged for it if I get caught, but I guess a lot of other people will also kena. So, not too bad la.

As for the by-elections, it's certain now there will be multi-cornered fights.

Umno versus Pas versus Amanah.

I think Umno will win both Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar.

Reasons:

1. Umno is the incumbent. Incumbents always have the advantage in by-elections.

2. The opposition's votes will be split between Pas and Amanah.

3. The Chinese who overwhelmingly support the opposition are not likely to go all out to vote. Based on past by-elections, the Chinese are not really interested in things which can't change much, such as a by-election.

4. Umno did well by not fielding racists as its candidates.

Well, that should be it.

Okay, I need to go to the beach now.

For your weekend pleasure, here's one of my father's favourite songs when he was a young rocker,

Yes, let's go catch the rainbow :)

Cheers

  2. Annie,

    Hahahahah!!

And "some people" want me to believe that DAP is supposed to be paying you for writing this stuff?

Aiyoh, are there Malaysians who are really so stupid as to believe "some people"?

Anyway, despite your "so-obviously pro-DAP" article, I have to agree that UMNO looks like it is in the box seat for the two by-elections.

PAS and Amanah are there only to save face.

In fact, in the case of these two by-elections, the side-show is more interesting than the main event.

The side-show is whether PAS or Amanah have the greater support amongst the Malays.

At least, that is what I am more interested in.

So, who is the "lackey" and who is "{the} one fighting for a cause"?

Is it Islamic to force someone to live as a Muslim?

      Just asking.

    7. M Zin,

      //Live as Muslim or leave//

Firstly, your statement does not answer my question if it is Islamic to force a person to live as a Muslim.

Secondly, is it an individual's choice or YOUR law which says that a person must live like a Muslim or leave Islam?

Thirdly, is it true that Islam is defined by the person practising it according to that person's understanding of the Quran?

Sorry for so many questions but I have always been curious how well people understand their religion.

Gladiator, these are very arrogant people you are seeing. One thing you must know that they are taught to love each other 'because of God'.

Ever wonder how to love each other 'because of God'? The love cannot be real when one doesn't love you because of who you are but of some other reasons, God or otherwise.

While there must be some explanation to the notion of 'loving because of God', but because these are very arrogant people and they thought to own the exclusivity to interpretation of God's words, there is little room (in fact none) to convince them otherwise.

And so beware and understand why some could act like what they did in Bangkok, Madrid, Paris and New York, a caring neighbor to you today and an extremist tomorrow. There is no real love to humanity for them. As the Malay says, hati kering.

And why the proclamation of 'murtad' on someone who doesn't agree with their view, if not for the reason of proclamation of halal on your blood and live?

They could act like this even before hudud is implemented, imagine what could they do AFTER the implementation?

It sends shivers to our spines. No?

  3. If UMNO and PAS are chummy with each other, supporting each other on the Hudud bill, embracing each other on stage, THEN WHY THE HELL are they contesting against each other in KK and SB?

    This part, I don't get.

Are they idiots? The leaders must not think their members are sneaky like them. All this will confuse the members. Some are already thinking about voting the third force.

  6. Generally, UMNO members know that they are sinful people, playing money politics and what not, they are looking for salvation.

PAS members on the other hand deem that they are the chosen ones, already marked for a nice place in heaven. Before going back to their abode in paradise they want to do more for God.

No one wants to enact a law to cut his own limbs. The fact that PAS wants so badly to implement hudud is because they want to apply this law on the sinful ones. With Hadi claiming so many times that the nons would not be affected by hudud, so it must mean that the implementation is for those unrepenting sinful Muslims in UMNO.

And out of eagerness for a salvation UMNO members support PAS' motion with such 'hati terbuka penuh kesyukuran'.

Very well and happy journey to the paradise, where beneath your abode river flows.

But all honeymoon will come to an end. It is the trademark of people of these two parties to engage in 'kafir mengkafir' finger pointing games and against the backdrop of some teachings which there's none to tell you exactly who is right and who is wrong, PAS and UMNO's unholy fornication will eventually damage the unity amongst their people more to the extent of beyond repair.

For God have said, before some people is destroyed they would go mad first.

    1. i sincerely dont think you have to be labelled a "liberal muslim" just because you are highly concerned about the dangers of power abuse inherent in the administration of capital punishment - who are the judges calling the shots? The record of the few "hudud punishment" societies around the world shows up poor civic culture and terrifying court protection and legal representation procedures for the accused persons.
It is wisdom to err on the side of human life preservation rather than destruction.
