The sad breakdown of Singapore's first family

This is sad,

Singapore PM’s siblings say they feel threatened, have lost confidence in him

excerpts;

At the heart of the family dispute is the future of the house in which their father, Lee Kuan Yew, lived for most of his life. He was the first Prime Minister of Singapore and ruled the country for three decades.
Lee died in 2015, and according to the younger siblings wanted the home demolished rather than turned into a monument. They claim that the prime minister and his wife, Ho Ching, had opposed this wish.
The younger siblings accused the prime minister of wanting to milk Lee Kuan Yew’s legacy for their own political purposes. They said that they believed the prime minister and his wife, Ho Ching, harbour political ambitions for their son, Li Hongyi.
All that are very unfortunate, isn't it?

I wondered but not dare to speculate what actually happened between the siblings.

It's hard for me to believe that Lee Hsien Loong is as bad as what his brother and sister said.

The guy is so nice and gentle.

Anyway, I felt that the whole matter may be too private for me to comment.

It's after all a family matter.

I actually began to admire the Lee family after learning more about them after Lee Kuan Yew's death.

Whatever it is, I hope they could resolve their family problems soon.

It's always sad to see a family breaking up.

Here's some  old posts that I did about them,

Another LKY story

And here's what Lee Hsien Loong said about his father after LKY passed away,

  2. Anyone trying to help 1MDB and thieves in anyway whatsoever, will get trouble in one way or another.

It is just a matter of time.

It doesn't matter if you are the head of a state of true meritocracy in nature. Shit is shit.

If a brother can fear for his safety by just speaking out, what about others? That's a nation of deaf dumb and blur, or at least they must act as such.

What would happen then? House Arrest? Declared Insane? Sued until bankrupt so cannot travel? Report of Corruption / Misuse of Power and public told: oh actually the corrupt one is himself!?

    Options are open.

But don't expect anything from Malaysia. I help you, you help me. Remember?

  3. Annie,

Terribly sad to read the open letter by Lee's sister and younger brother.

For various reasons, I am not a great admirer of lee Kuan Yew, but I do respect what he has done for Singapore.

If Lee Kuan Yew wants the house demolished, demolish lah.

He has made his wishes known and given his rationale for the demolition, so what is there is argue about?

Gazetting it, turning it into a museum, etc etc is exactly what LKY does not want so why do it?

If Singapore wants to show respect to LKY, they should also respect his last wishes and demolish.

Otherwise, all that bullshit about respecting LKY and how much he has done for Singapore, is just that - bullshit and they might as well go piss on his grave for good measure.

And that, folks, is a classic example of a pig-ignorant comment.

Now, all we is a similar comment about a Malay an Indian, an Orang Asli dan lain2.

No, cannot quote somebody else, that plagarism - has to be an original work 😀

      Come on- Malaysia bolih :)

  6. Apa gentle, Annie....
Najib pun gentle jugak. Belakang gentle mana tau dalam dada apa isi ?

When you have money, 08:14, invest wisely.
When you have power, do Good for people who put you in power. Jangan lupa diri. Seburuk-buruk perangai politik Mahathir, we cannot discount hid deeds to Malaysia and Malaysians.

Saya pun bukan jugak admirer LKY ni. Tapi he is a visionary man and his intergrity unquestionable. We don't that many men and women like this. Anyway, kalau adik dah rasa jadi bahaya tinggal di negeri dipimpin abang, there may just be more than what's made known.

Malaysia has a much bigger problem. Don't bother too much about the Lee's of another country. Tak ada untung dua duit pun, Annie.

  7. Our Family is held together by money......

The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) may have finally shed light on what happened to the US$620 million that “Malaysian Official 1” (MO1) had returned to his "donor".

In a latest civil forfeiture suit filing, the DOJ alleged that at least US$27.3 million was used to buy a 22-carat pink diamond pendant and necklace for “MO1's wife.”

On June 2013, two months before the sum was returned, the DOJ said Low had contacted jeweller Lorraine Schwartz, asking urgently for a diamond necklace with a "18 carrot (sic) pink heart diamond".

The next month, Schwartz travelled to Monaco with a 22-carat pink diamond, to meet Low as well as then Aabar chief executive officer Mohamed Ahmed Badawy Al-Husseiny aboard a yacht.

Also on board the yacht were the wife of MO1, and her friend - dubbed by the DOJ as "Malaysian Friend".

On the yacht, the group purportedly discussed the design of the necklace which would hold the pink diamond.

According to the DOJ, Schwartz's next encounter with MO1's wife was in New York on Sept 28 to show a layout of the necklace's design.

Najib and his wife Rosmah Mansor were in New York at the time for the UN general assembly. Najib addressed the assembly on Sept 28.

Besides the US$27.3 million pink diamond necklace, the DOJ also accused Low of purchasing 27 different 18-carat gold necklaces and bracelets for MO1's wife, worth a total of US$1.3 million.

    1. Disagree...bergaduh adik beradik org biasa memang tak jadi hal. Tapi bila adik tuduh abang tak amanah & abang seorg pemimpin besar, ianya isu besar. Tambah lagi keluarga LKY punya imej yg tinggi, hampir maksum.

Tapi saya setuju, ianya tak jadi hal pada M'sia.
