Chinese wives not so bad

I am now waiting for a meeting in the office which will start in 20 minutes.

So, this is a short one and a break from the rather serious Johor crisis postings.

Okay, I have always maintained that Chinese wives tend to be more garang than  others, especially when they get older.

But that does not necessarily mean that their husband would be worse off in the event of a matrimonial dispute.

It's a fact that generally, Malay wives are comparatively docile.

But, pushed to a corner, they would be true to the character of their race.  They will lash back with extreme ferocity.

Case in point, is as told in this posting by Unspinners,

Ustazah segera Abby Abadi sedang dipertimbangkan untuk Unit Amal

All the lurid details were there.

Before,

and after,

Well, Chinese wives, despite being garang tend to be less ferocious if they choose to assault their over naughty husband.

Worse case scenario, the husband will just end up like this,

So, I think, it's not so bad to have a Chinese wife.

Okay, need to get into the meeting now. The boss is already here. Cheers.

Chinese husband allows wife to attack him once a week

A Chinese man has signed a contract with his wife that entitles her to attack him once a week.

The 32-year-old man, who was named by the Chongqing Evening News as Mr Zhang, took the unusual step after suffering intense abuse from his wife, who studies kung fu.

"I don't want to beat him, but arguments are inevitable and I can't help myself," his wife told the newspaper. She added that in the week before they signed the deal, she had beaten him up three times.

Mr Zhang said his wife, who is a sales manager at a trading company, had studied kung fu since her childhood and that he was attracted to her "strong and independent temperament".

He also admitted that he had suffered at her hands throughout their six-month courtship. "Before we got married, she had a wild hairstyle and I teased that it made her look like a tigress. During the argument that followed, I said some bad words and I got a taste of her kung fu for the first time."

He said that he had tried to bite his lip in order to avoid being punished, but that he "never wants to lose an argument" and so always ends up with "bruises and scars all over".

In order to curb his wife's aggression, Mr Zhang proposed signing a contract in front of his in-laws. If his wife breaches the contract, she has to return to her parents' home for three days. "She is very obedient to her parents, and her parents will support me and blame her," he said.

    3. High-earning wives abuse husbands

Earning less than your wife may be a step forward in overcoming gender-biased disparity in salaries, but it can be dangerous step backwards for your marriage, according to a recent report.

You may be surprised to hear about husband-beating. Incidents of battered husbands are rarer, probably because the victims are ashamed to admit their wives beat them. But for the past three years the Malaysian Welfare Department has reported cases of men being abused by their wives. In 2011, 25 reports of abused husbands were made, compared to 32 in 2010 and 14 in 2009.

      Why wives turn abusive

In most cases, financial stress is the root cause of the abuse in the relationship. Dr. Ting Joe Hang, a consultant psychiatrist, explains that women might look down on spouses who earn less because they see their husbands as “useless”. Although Dr. Ting adds that there may be other reasons for the abuse.

However, psychologist Dr. Nivashinie Mohan paints a frightening picture of domestic violence committed by wives:

“While men tend to cause more damage because they are usually stronger, women can even the odds with weapons such as knives, high heels and sharp nails.”

Dr. Nivashinie also added that abused husbands are ashamed of reporting their wives because they are scared of appearing ‘unmanly’. Some of the women were heavy drinkers whereas others may have had mental illnesses.

      Horrors suffered by husbands

Suicide threats, stabbings and even black magic spells — are just some of the various abuses battered husbands had to suffer:

“We were both unhappy but whenever I suggested ending the relationship she (my wife) threatened to kill herself,” said a man who only wanted to be known as Krish.

A male teacher claimed he had body scars from when his wife attacked him, “The last time I made a police report was when she held 2 knives in her hands, threatening to kill me and asking me to fight with her.”

Family lawyer Andy Low reportedly encountered cases in which the wives hired a bomoh to hurt their husbands through magic.

What to do if you’re involved in an abusive relationship

A battered husband often suffers the same emotional and physical abuse as a battered wife. The relationship between the abuser and victim is complex, especially in the case of husband and abusive wife. He may use the same defensive tactic as a battered wife, which is denying that there is a problem. The shame of owning up to a spouse’s abusive behaviour could cause a battered husband to defend her actions to others, including himself.

There is no excuse for domestic violence, and victims, both men and women, should try and speak to someone they can trust in their family or circle of friends. Victims can also contact the nearest family counselling unit for help.

  4. Take a listen everyone...

Bila ku bersuara kau kategorikan sebagai meleter
Bila kau tercabar sebelum bertarung pun ku dah kau singkir
Tika di jalanan cermat ke cuai
    Stereotype lady driver
    Bila tunjuk pandai lagakmu hebat
    Mengalahkan seorang professor

    Oh mana keadilannya
    Balik-balik kita saja terkena
    Dahulu hingga kini
    Kau memonopoli cuba menguasai
    Duniaku ini oh mana aci

    (Korus)
    Jangan pandang ku sebelah mata
    Hanya kerna namaku wanita
    Walau ada kelemahannya
    Engkau pun apa tidaknya
    Jangan pandang ku sebelah mata
    Nanti kejantanan mu tercabar
    Takkan ku menyerah kalah
    [ Seksis lyrics found on http://lyrics.my ]
    Kerana madah mu berat sebelah
    Kelemahanmu akan ku tepis
    Selagi persis, tak terkikis seksis

    Pabila ku ramah manis lidah
    Kau tuduh ku perempuan murah
    Namun bila kau menutup helah
    Kata mu mengikut sunnah
    Andai ku meniang rumahtangga
    Jangan harap ucapan tahniah
Hujung bulan tiba ku tuntut nafkah
Kau buat ku macam peminta sedekah

    Oh mana keadilannya
    Balik-balik kau juga juara
    Asyik kita beri saja
Melayan takhta siang malam di tatang
    Penuh setia bagaikan raja
