Umno as the kingmaker

Anwar said he will be meeting the Agong on Tuesday to present his majority in parliament.

Is this for real?

Anwar is after all known for his drama.

However, there has been no denial from the Istana Negara.

So, I think the Agong must have been informed that Anwar do actually have the number and granted the audience because he wants to know whether it's true.

The Agong must have prior information on the matter to grant the audience.

It's the king's job anyway, the same with what he did leading to the formation of Muhyiddin's Perikatan Nasional government.

Now everything points at a faction of Umno, particularly the Zahid's gang, as the ones who may be providing Anwar with the extra MPs to form the majority in parliament.

Why would Zahid do that?

Well, as you all may know by now, Muhyiddin's Pribumi Bersatu people are insisting that they are the ones who should lead the PN coalition.

Umno, they said must give way to them.

Some of the more rude ones even said Pribumi Bersatu should take the lead because Umno is after all a corrupt party.

They don't care how Umno people feel about them saying that.

It should be remembered that Pribumi Bersatu was not that long ago almost a gone case after a series of by-election losses, particularly when their candidate was humiliated in the Malay-majority Tanjong Piai by BN, which fielded an MCA candidate.

I even believed that the party would be dead by now if it didn't turn against its Pakatan Harapan allies to form the PN government.

And still now, they want to be the king on top of the hill.

Then there is Pas, who is quite happy with what's happening to Umno under PN.

They probably think that their party could benefit too from Umno getting weaker under the coalition.

Pas has after all always wanted to be the main Malay-based party.

There were already talks that Pas wants the whole of at least Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah while Pribumi Bersatu was said to be demanding to contest up to 50 seats in GE15, most of which are in areas traditionally known as Umno's strongholds.

Some Umno leaders, particularly those who gain positions and rejuvenated political career under the PN arrangement don't seemed to care about all that.

They said Umno need to sacrifice itself for the interest of Malay unity.

However, many others are beginning to realise the danger to their party. Umno may soon be irrelevant if the current situation continues.

When the well-liked Mat Hasan came out with a statement right after the appointment of Pribumi Bersatu guy as the new Sabah chief minister that he wish Umno to stay away from PN, I started to believe that things were really brewing in Umno.

This came after Zahid said he would not stop any Umno MPs from supporting Anwar.

Since the Umno number one and two have made almost the same stand on this matter, then I think the possibility of Anwar getting support from at least a faction of Umno is real.

Would it be bad for Umno to join forces with Anwar because that means joining forces with DAP and its Amanah minions too?

Well, Anwar's PKR and DAP have different support base than Umno.

They will not likely try to encroach into Umno's traditional Malay strongholds like what Pribumi Bersatu and Pas are trying to do.

Amanah should not be a problem as it will just listen to what DAP tells it to do.

PKR would be concentrating on mixed urban areas, DAP on Chinese areas while Amanah takes what ever in between those two.

So, it's not actually really bad for Umno under such a deal as it would likely have more parliament seats than those three parties if it could win back the bulk of Malay electorates.

It would actually be a better deal than being bullied by Pribumi Bersatu and Pas and losing the Malay heartland to them.

But can Umno stomach Anwar?

Well, at the moment Umno has to stomach Azmin, ok. Same what.

How about DAP?

I have talked with a DAP friend and she said DAP may likely swallow its pride and work with Umno in order to get back to Putrajaya.

The party is in a worse situation now than at any other time during the long BN rule.

Its secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, along with his wife are facing multiple corruption charges, not unlike several Umno leaders.

The possibility of other DAP leaders suffering the same fate soon is real.

That put DAP and Umno in the same boat.

Then, there's the matter of stopping the country from being rule by an overwhelmingly Malay-dominated government.

I think Umno's MCA and MIC allies in BN would agree to make peace with DAP and vice versa to stop that.

They may even agree for Umno to be the dominant partner in a new coalition as long as they could be there in the government to protect their community's interests.

But can the Malays, in particular Umno members agree to such an arrangement with DAP?

I think they would, as long as DAP people don't kurang ajar towards them and other Malays like when they did so after winning GE14.

Well, DAP probably has learnt its lesson on that one.

Am I supporting this possible arrangement between Umno, Anwar and DAP?

I'm just an observer. But if I'm an Umno person, I would want my party to be in charge of things, even if it means playing the role of a kingmaker.

Anwar or Muhyiddin, if they want to be PM,  they must be nice and listen to my party.

But then again, I'm not even an Umno member.

Personally, I prefer Umno to just stick with MCA and MIC, along with those in Sabah and Sarawak under the multi-racial BN banner.

That, I think is better than all these bullshit coalition arrangements.

  1. What a bullshit new PH-Umno coalition to allow a convicted sodomite to take charge leading a Malay-majority 32 million country? If that really happens, the God must be joking and taking us for a ride on this matter. Do you think Umno will support a long-time rival without any prior condition and other intention? Well, bear in mind that there ain't no such thing as free lunch. Everyone is now anxious about yet another round of Covid infection, only to find that a bisexual convict setting his heart to usurp the PM throne at this critical juncture.

    Correct.

Let's face it, Bersatu is Tun Dr M's party.

The reason that a small party with only 13 seats was the king is because they all deferred to Tun.

When Bersatu betrayed him, they actually became like a minor pariah party who forgot that they are NOTHING.

    The Tun Factor is gone.

All that is left is thieves and opportunists.

    Here's political reality, lah:

UMNO as a party is more than 16 times larger than Bersatu.

    Facts are facts.

Also, they are not lying: the UMNO grassroots hate PPBM with a passion.

You think you can force life-long UMNO voters to "switch" to support a party of traitors?

    No way Jose.

UMNO is more than 16 times larger than Bersatu.

  5. Do you really think when Anwar is granted an audience with His Majesty Agong, he automatically will be sworn in as PM the next morning at Istana Negara?

Not fo fast. It is not that easy.

The devils is in the details. There’s a lot of hard work to do. He has to CONVINCE His Majesty he deserves to form a government. Bear in mind that the federal constitution clearly stated His Majesty shall appoint a prime minister in which “pada hemat baginda” has the majority support of MPs. “Pada hemat baginda” clearly shows His Majesty’s conscience play an important role for Anwar’s wish to be granted.

If the King is not convince, i.e. his conscience is not clear, His Majesty King has a lot of other options to pursue such as summoning the sitting PM to find out is it true he has lost majority support. If he says he still has it then he has to show the proof. Summoning and interviewing MPs supporting on sitting PM side and then summoning and interviewing each MPs who Anwar says supporting him. Then His Majesty knows which MPs who have switching support.

If His Majesty Agong is still not convinced, he has other paths to pursue such as consulting Conference of Rulers, order for special parliamentary session so Anwar could proof his majority in parliament, consulting the sitting PM the next course of action including dissolving the parliament pathing way for general election.

Based on history, most of them became bad and lousy leaders. These power hungry leader were willing to do anything and everything to ACQUIRE power and STAY IN power. They would do anything including sleeping with the enemies’ wives. If that guarantees he gets to be prime minister. If that what it takes to go to highest office in the land. Rules, principles, moral conscience, instinct, feeling bad about it, all of them thrown out of window.

Once in power this guy is willing to do anything to stay there. Obsolutely everything human mind could ever imagine.

We know by now some Umno leaders are dead men walking. One of them already have an appointment with a destiny that is to spend the rest of his life in bamboo river resort. Thus these leaders are looking for a lifeline. Guilty or not these leaders hold the ultimate trump card of having the biggest number of Malay MPs in their pocket.

First they look for ambitious and power hungry leaders in the opposition to struck a deal with. Win win situation. I scratch your back, you scratch mine. They tried it first with Moo and Min but it didn’t quite work out. It turns out they become the biggest loser. They’re being stabbed in the back. The deal become lopsided.

They have no other choice but to turn to other option which is the bad one. Very bad. Extremely bad but they have no other choice left. A choice which will anger the Malay community. But it still a viable one nevertheless. If that what it takes to free off their heads from the noose.

  19. Orang kanan Datuk Seri Najib Razak mendakwa, Perdana Menteri Muhyiddin Yassin dan Menteri Dalam Negeri Hamzah Zainudin bertanggungjawab apabila kes Covid 19 meningkat mendadak.

Datuk Lokman Noor Adam berkata, kerana tindakan mereka berdua mahu merampas kerajaan negeri Sabah lah menyebabkan Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal memohon Yang Dipertuan Negeri Sabah membubarkan Dewan Negeri Sabah.

“Dua manusia inilah yang melakukan gerakan merampas kerajaan negeri Sabah daripada tangan Warisan akibatnya berlakulah kluster Sabah,” katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian dalam satu temubual di Facebooknya baru-baru ini.

Tambah beliau, sepatutnya semua yang berusaha merampas kerajaan negeri Sabah haruslah bertanggungjawab.

Ketika ditanya, mengapa Menteri Kesihatan tidak menasihati Perdana Menteri terlebih dahulu Lokman berkata “PM ni bukan nak dengar pun orang nasihat”.

"4 Sep 2020: TYT exceeded powers in sacking Musa; case not academic"
    http://www.dailyexpress.com.my/.../tyt-exceeded-powers.../

Kerajaan Warisan pun tumbang tapi Shafie kata dia sanggup mati daripada serah kembali kuasa sebagaimana dia rampas kuasa melalui pintu belakang selepas PRU14.

"30 Julai 2020: Majlis Presiden PH sokong Shafie bubar DUN Sabah"
    https://suaramerdeka.com.my/majlis-presiden-ph-sokong.../
Bidas Shafie rakus kuasa. Musa Aman juga tolak PRN

"30 Julai 2020: Musa Aman tolak keputusan bubar DUN kerana bahayakan nyawa rakyat Sabah"
    https://www.astroawani.com/.../musa-aman-tolak-keputusan...
Musa Aman bersama 32 ADUN Sabah juga 3 kali mohon mahkamah untuk batalkan keputusan bubar DUN tapi kalah 3 kali.

"11 Sep 2020: Mahkamah Persekutuan tolak permohonan tangguh PRN Sabah"
    https://www.bharian.com.my/.../mahkamah-persekutuan-tolak...

"24 Sept 2020: Mohd Shafie mohon maaf adakan PRN ketika Covid-19"
    https://www.sinarharian.com.my/.../Mohd-Shafie-mohon-maaf...

Mind you, this King is definitely very much different from that King. No wonder his one-time confidant-turned-rival calls him an incorrigible psychopath. Unquestionably, his decade-long political struggle is solely to become a Malaysian PM after all.
