Reflections

Some people really make it seems as if the sky is falling down on top of our head.

Actually, it is not.

The world still spins and lives go on as usual.

Everyone has to earn a living and should try the best to make it in this world.

I think focusing on that is better than getting all worked up over politics.

Why should we get so agitated over what some politicians said or the bullshit written by actually not so clever bloggers.

Malays, the Chinese are not trying to enslave you, okay.

Chinese, the Malays don't want to bully you or steal your money.

Really,.

They all just want to get by with life.

Those who do those bad things are bad people. They are not Malays or Chinese.

If you all reject those bad people who are trying to make you hate each other, you all will be okay.

Malays should unite as the Chinese should unite.

Unite to be better people and build a better future.

Not uniting to hate others.

United Malays Nationalist Organisation that I know promotes that.

Of course, the best is if Malays and Chinese, along with the other Malaysians can unite, so that this country can be a better place.

Think about it, okay.

That's all for this nice Sunday morning.

I want to continue lepaking for the rest of the day.

Here's a song,

I hope you all enjoy it.

Cheers :)

  1. it is a sad and tragic case is it not for a woman to possess so much hatred until its oozing out of every crack, am just wondering, could it possibly stem from the frustration that perhaps every time she tries to relieve herself, she has to do it standing up

Malaysia was like that for a long time, Annie.

    That's the Malaysia we miss.

That was the genius of Tun: he looked after the Malays but never made the non-Malays feel excluded. If you have any non-Malay friends, ask whether they felt more "Malaysian" during Tun's time. I'll guess that 95% will say "yes".

It will take a long, long time to put the country right, Annie, esp. our institutions.

A small, crappy, deeply corrupted country that is laughed at by the whole world.

    That's what we are now.

    It wasn't like that before.

    No, not at all.

  3. Annie,

Just before PRU13, I was at a satay stall runned by a young Malay guy.

While waiting for my satay, the conversation turned to the impending elections and I mentioned that some folks think that we could have the makings of another May 13 as tensions were high.

He looked at me in the eye and said something to the effect, "Semua gaduh ni dari atas".

    I was floored.

Here was a young man who did seem not very educated, doing a very menial job, eking out a bare existence and yet, he was saying something quite profound.

I have always suspected that the vast majority of us, the common man and woman on the street, really have no quarrel with each other.

We are not racist, we are not religious nutters, we are not quarrelsome.

And this is despite the indoctrination we receive from a very young age.

We all seem to share the same wants and desires - we want to be rich, we want to be successful, we want to have an easy life, we want .. we want.. we want ...

We seem no different from each other and yet somehow, for some reason, I am supposed to hate you and you are supposed to hate me.

Yes, there may be government policies which help you and me to walk along the hating path but that is merely vindicating what a young uneducated fellow told me - gaduh dari atas, so that is an artificial hatred.

Yes, there are bloggers who preach hate but again, that is an artificial hatred.

There is really nothing intrinsic in me which tells me to hate you and I suspect there is nothing intrinsic in you which tells you to hate me.

The original ideals of UMNO, MCA and MIC were to foster a stronger united Malaysia.

DAP was then merely a workers party fighting for workers rights.

Today, none of the above parties seem to be anywhere near their original charter.

Today, UMNO, MCA and MIC are just too busy looking after their own interests and DAP is full of taukehs who exploit their employees!!

OK OK OK, PAS was a party in la-la land then and is still in la-la land today, so at least they have kept true to themselves but that is a different story, OK?

Your call for Malaysians to be united in stopping the hate is most commendable.

Maybe Malaysians will realise that the hatred they feel is merely a creation "dari atas".

I believe it will be a long and difficult road to a society where "the colour of a man's hair is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes" as Bob Marley would say.

I know, I know, we Malaysians all have black hair and brown eyes, but you know what I mean :)

Perhaps somebody more poetic than me can re-phrase what Bob Marley meant using Malaysian analogies :)

    4. Anonymous 13 March 2016 at 21:29,

Considering your use of the language, you sound exactly like someone who has been conned by those "dari atas" who want you to hate.

Trying to portray yourself as a good person and to justify your hate by saying you are being patient is a falsehood and deep down, you know, it is a falsehood.

You can keep dancing to that tune if you want but honestly you will feel better if you did not hate.

You are in a bad place in your life right now and you really should try and get yourself out of it and find a happier place where you do not have to justify your hate.

If you do find that happier place, I hope you will help another person to find it as well.

My apologies for trying to give you what I believe is useful advice but you did ask me to do so and I have done so as honestly as I can.

      Gladiator

P.S. Please do note that I do not consider myself to be a good person or that I know everything and have answers for every question.

I am human with all the faults of a human.

My advice to you could be completely wrong.

Only you can decide what is good for you and only you can free your own mind.

  6. Chinese must keep their culture, lil sis Ms Annie
and keep their vernacular schools but they must respect Muslims push for ASWJ Syaria
( Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jammah schools )
    based on al-Quran and Sunnahs

    Chinese for Syaria:
The majority Chinese are actually Islam-indifferent but DAP must lose their fiercely anti-Syaria evangelist leaders. Syariah will increasingly fall into place for Muslims but will in-sya-Allah be inclusive involving non-Muslims in charting its implementation.

  7. Haji Zin, from what our tok guru pondok teach us, Ahli Sunnah wal Jamaah not only takes from the Al-Quran and As-Sunnah of Sayyidina Rasulullah s.a.w. but also from the Ijmak of Ulama Mujtahid using the vehicle of Qiyas (criteria based analogical reasoning) using dalil naqli (scriptural proofs) and dalil aqli (rational proofs). Of course the wahhabis and simple minded islamists want to shred everything down to Quran and Sumnah - as if every Tom, Dick and Awang is qualified to do scholastic jurisprudence!

  8. I'm wondering whether Adenan Satem is so supremely confident of his power over Jibby or if he has a death wish, by suggesting Jibby take an Iban wife.

He may have said it was a joke but practically every Malaysian knows this isn't something one jokes about with Second-hand Rose.

And his comment that Jibby always comes with "millions, ,billions" in his hands...

    Is he taking the piss?

But such is Jibby's desperation to bootlick Adenan that he has to just swallow those remarks with his usual asinine blur face.

    Interesting....

Of cos Adenan Satem is supremely confident of his position.

He knows and Najib knows that without Sabah and Sarawak, BN will be booted out of Putrajaya in PRU14.

He is well-liked by most Sarawakians because he is, apparently, a genuinely nice guy.

Pakatan will stand next to zero chance in the coming Sarawak elections. In fact, they will be lucky just to hold onto the seats they currently hold!

  10. Annie, you said: "Chinese, the Malays don't want to bully you ... Really."
Whereupon, your reader Anon at 21:29 writes: "So far we are being patient. But when push cones to shove, we will take action in whatever forms."
That isn't bullying, of course. That's a threat. From a Malay?
Then there is that M Zin who says, "Chinese must must respect Muslims push for ASWJ Syaria."
After which Zin refuses to extend the same courtesy he demands from the Chinese: "Syariah will increasingly fall into place for Muslims but will in-sya-Allah be inclusive involving non-Muslims in charting its implementation."
Be careful Zin and Anon: the time is past to think you can get away with threatening Chinese, and the Chinese "sit idly by".
Annie, is your blog a den for bigotry and hatred that you regularly denounced of that woman-whose-name-is-not-to-be-mentioned? I suggest you throw out those stupid comments because they contribute nothing to the conversations here. On the contrary, they fan tinders. But should you let in every piece of bigotry -- the Anon comment, for example, is identical to those that you find in that woman -- then, underneath your preaching of peace, you are really no different from Ah Soh.

  11. People in Malaysia originally have no quarrel with each other.

Then came religion politics in the form of munafiq PAS who preach hatred sesama Muslim.

Then came munafiq Anwar Ibrahim with his Islamisation policies that slowly change the behaviour of government offices and schools. The holier than thou attitude became in fashion.

Then came the new breed of munafiq DAP Christian preacher cum politicians. More hatred spewing forth.

Then came munafiq UMNO, the newest kid on the block who jumped on the religion wagon because the leader is so corrupt, lost the support of majority thus need religion to cleanse him (2x umrah in 6 weeks?) and to get into bed with munafiq PAS.

That is how we get to our sorry state now. More religion, less tolerance, more hatred. Our society is deteriorating due to in your face religion, the politicians help in hastening the process.
