Democracy, DAP's style

First for context, you may read these reports,

Penggaram rep tops DAP Johor polls, Boo 10th

Liew Chin Tong made DAP chief in Johor

The following is a text conversation between my mother and me just now.

Mother : May (my Chinese name), can u tell me why Liew Cheng Tong get least votes in the committee election but ended up DAP state chief?

Me : Because in DAP, those elected into the committee decide who should be their boss. For instance, Guan Eng is no 3 in the CEC yet he became the powerful sec-gen, Same thing with State level. Boo may be 10th and Liew 14th but if Liew got more people in the committee and backing from KL, then he becomes the boss.

Mother : That's not very democratic....So Boo was supported by grassroots but not those at the top even his fellow committee members?

Me : You look at the 15 people in the committee and you can tell that most of them are not from Boo's camp.

Mother : Sigh....poor Boo.

Me: It's DEMOCRATIC Action Party la Ma.... But it doesn't matter. DAP supporters don't care about such things.

Mother: It shows that I'm not a DAP supporter...

Me: Aiya Ma, next election you will vote for them again la.

Mother: See lah how....

Note: My mother donated to a fund supporting Dr Boo Cheng Hau when he first contested in Skudai during the 2004 general election.

    2. That is a very good news indeed. We want a person with 'telur' as the PM and obviously Mukhriz fits the bill. And another thing, once Mukhriz becomes the PM, all Ah JibGor con-sultans especially Idris Kala and Omar Ong akan diturunkan daripada takhta. The chinkies will not be so biaDAP and the Christians will stop demanding Kalimah Allah. Peace at last for Malaysia as ISA will be revived! InsyaAllah!

    4. SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN DURING NAZI ERA - and used as guidelines in recruiting storm troopers.

Recruits who have more 'telur' tend to have less 'otak'. Relationhip between 'telur' and 'otak' is thus inverse. However, whilst the foot soldiers are expected to have maximum 'telur', officers especially those in the higher ranks are expected to have more 'otak'.

The same approach was used in Britain during the days of Empire. This was exemplified in Lord Tennyson's CHARGE OF THE LIGHT BRIGADE's second stanza:

      'Forward, the Light Brigade!'
      Was there a man dismay'd?
      Not tho' the soldiers knew
      Some one had blunder'd:
      Theirs not to make reply,
      Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
      Into the valley of Death
      Rode the six hundred.

      Theirs not to make reply,
      Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die.

However, in modern armies, soldiers are expected to have more otak than telur. They are now trained to use hi-tech weapons that could annihilate enemies from afar, without putting themselves in harm's way.

  11. Social-chauvinism is what DAP is. A social roots of  betrayal by inception has been part of DAP's upbringing. After more than 50 years, the party has transformed into the politics of Chauvinistic-socialism, the proven false in democracy. It becomes a sectarian in nature and a pretentious movement for universal equality. One to view DAP with a clear choice in black or white, good guys or bad guys is coming to realization. Soon it would be Pas.

The party has not changed one iota of its cardinal political objective. The ultimate objective has been to remove Bumiputra privileges from being stipulated in the constitution.

In 1969, it was recorded that DAP staged campaign against Bumiputra rights. Along side with Gerakan, they campaigned on a similar platform marked the biggest political gain in demonstration. They went to the streets and protested their defeat which had erupted into bloody riots of May the 13.

The perfect evolution of DAP has never been perfectly adapted to survive in its situation of catch-22. Apparently, DAP has been well adapted as chauvinistic agitator. It is because DAP's ideology is more a reflection of poor imaginations than of reality.

Then again, DAP's democratic vision of doom demonstrates the flaws, failure to establish a peaceful social democracy. The deterioration to unite the races with diverse religions and cultural based underlined DAP's chauvinism politically and socially. It is time that the pigs to be lined up to the nearest abattoirs at random.

    1. UMNO knew about these all along. What have they done? Is it that they were so well off and pampered that they don't give two hoots about the future of bangsa melayu or the country? Is melayu leadership so easily corrupted with the 3W (women, wine and wealth, maybe now the women replace by young boys)? Or is it that melayu is actually bangsa bangsat??

  12. The plan to oust Dr Boo started sometime ago. It is a known fact that Lim Kit Siang was campaigning for Liew Chin Tong until the very end. This disgusted the members and thus the 14th placing. Dr Boo was deceived by an ungrateful Indian snake who Dr Boo had campaigned hard to be the candidate in Labis and also for the Johor DAP Committee. But once he was voted into the 15 man committee, in the secret ballot, this snake voted for Chin Tong.

  14. Remembering my father, Tun Razak by Nazir Razak - The STAR

As Prime Minister, he was truly committed towards building a nation where every single one of its citizens could find a place under the Malaysian sun.

THIRTY-EIGHT years ago today, on Jan 14, 1976, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein passed away in London from complications wreaked by leukaemia.

Malaysia lost its prime minister. I lost my father. Malaysia was 19. I was nine.
The days immediately after were shrouded in personal sorrow and national mourning.
My four brothers and I sought to comfort our mother, while the public and heartfelt outpouring of grief throughout the country served as a resounding reminder that we were not alone in our time of tragedy.

I must confess that given my age, and my father’s hectic schedule, I sometimes lament the fact that he gave so much to the country, leaving too little for his family.
However, I have never wavered from being enormously proud of his selfless dedication to our young nation.

I did not get the time to know him. But imprinted in me are the values he imparted, the integrity that he insisted upon above all. Yes, above all; including his family.
I recall the time when my brothers and I approached him one evening and asked that a swimming pool be built at Seri Taman, the Prime Minister’s residence where we lived.

The lawyer that he was, he insisted that we make our case with logical and rational arguments.

We did so, and thought we had presented the argument pretty well, until we noticed his face had started to darken, and the eyes flashed with annoyance.

My father made it abundantly clear that while Seri Taman may be our home, the house belonged to the Government and, hence, to the people.

Anything spent on it would have to come from public funds; and there was no way he was going to allow the state coffers to be depleted on something as frivolous as a swimming pool. “What will the people think?” he thundered.

In my years of growing up, I actively sought to hear from people who knew my father well, including those who had worked with him in government, politics, the Merdeka movement and so on as well as his personal friends.

It was my only way of getting to know him. What stood out for me was that in almost every conversation I had about him, the qualities they always referenced were his values.

As the custodian of the nation’s coffers, his frugality was legendary.
“You had to account for every cent, or he would be on your back,” one former minister told me. Well, I knew that already. Not just from the swimming pool episode, but many anecdotes.

My elder brothers often talk about one of the rare opportunities they had to accompany him on an official trip to Switzerland.

He made sure he paid their expenses himself, was so careful with the cost of the trip to the Government that he moved his whole entourage to a cheaper hotel than originally booked, and they dined over and over again at the cheapest restaurant in the vicinity of the hotel.

And then there was his final trip to Europe in October 1975 for medical treatment.

ps. The different between Razak and Najib is that the former live and strive for his people while the latter strive for his domineering wife and his opportunistic croonies.

  15. I think what many failed to see when reading the moment's undercurrent sweeping Najib is that some the headwinds blowing from Bangkok is influencing the ground sentiment. How one make use of it can indeed exact a degree of wreckage. For team Najib, Zinedine Zidane is of course more than just Ballon d' Or. He knows a thing or two about strategy you know. Najib will last the day and things will get better.
