Winning Muslims' hearts and minds

Some of you all commented in my last post about PM Anwar's recent visit to Saudi Arabia.

Some said he went there to draw in investments while others ridiculed him for failing to even meet with the rulers of that country.

It was quite hilarious too when Anwar's supporters yesterday tried to defend the merit of his trip there with the entire Malay Mail's webpage being filled with such stories for several hours.

Wished I could tell my old friend Leslie Lau that he and his Malay Mail gang are turning into what NST used to be for Umno - not very smart and spineless mouthpiece.

On my part. I didn't even read the story when I saw the headlines about Anwar's trip to Saudi Arabia..

As far as I'm concerned, it was just another Anwar being a pious Muslim show.

If his intention was to get investments, then he should instead go to Beijing.

Trying to cosy up to the Arabs may land you into jail, okay. Look at Najib.

Well, cosying up to a chubby Chinese conman is also not good.

But, Anwar is not too stupid not to know that.

The way I see it, what he needs more now than anything else is being seen as a highly moral Islamic leader, at least among the Muslims..

Visiting Saudi Arabia looks very  Islamic to most people, you know.

Why now?

It's because state elections are coming in a few months time.

Pakatan, Umno and the gang would need to win over the Malay Muslims' votes and they can't do that with their government being linked to programmes such as the Jom Ziarah Gereja event.

They also can't have things such as the Thai Hot Guys or Cute China Doll stuff....at least for the time being.

So, Anwar as the PM needs to take the lead by showcasing his pious Islamic image for now, thus the Saudi Arabian trip.

Just like all that many years ago when he, along with several others founded Abim.

Other leaders should also showcase their fondness of Islam and how much they love the Muslims.

Maybe Hannah Yeoh could attend more Ramadhan programmes.

Donating some of her MP allowance to masjid and surau the other day was a good move. I think it melts the heart of Muslims after all the nonsense about the gereja programme.

Malay Mail could do a lengthy article about it.

Seriously

They need to jaga hati of the Malay Muslims over the next few months....at least until after the state elections.

A lot is at stake, okay.

Of the six states that will hold the elections, Penang is probably Pakatan's only good bet.

Looking back at what happened in GE15, the Malay-dominated Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah are likely to stay with Perikatan, while Pakatan-held Selangor and Negeri Sembilan are in danger.

It would be a very tough fight in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan with both states having a higher percentage of Malays than Johor.

If Pakatan and Umno fail in the two states, then Pakatan would probably have only Penang left while Umno has Pahang, Johor, Malacca and Perak.

Sabah and Sarawak, as they were following the outcome of GE15, would go where Umno would go.

If the Malay votes' swing continues, then Umno may be forced to switch sides or die.

Okay, I know, they are already half dead after GE15, but another humiliation at the state polls would seal the coffin for good.

Looking at the way Zahid manages the party now, I think it would die.

Honestly, I gave up on them after all the post-GE15 nonsense within the party.

It's too much for me to bear.

Well, I'm not an Umno member anyway, so Umno people shouldn't get angry with me.

  1. Many commented on Anwar's Saudi trip coz Anwar is imitating what Najib is doing with his US trip but of course die hard pakatan supporters are too blinded by anwar's halo to see clearly. With the new J Kom I think the transformation is near complete - Animal Farm anyone?

  4. The more blunders PH make, the merrier the political arena. That was and still is Anwar's preferred headless chicken style. He loves to bits the huru-hara-hooliganism but pretends to be squeaky clean. Without him, our life would be insipid. Just can't figure out what else he has yet shown the world. Hopefully he will get bumped into that China-doll during his visit to the Red Dragon. That would be another BIG story for us to gossip about.

  6. Today, another political appointment is granted. This time, dap's turn.

Mr Madani, may I know who will be the next one in your long list? My guess would be wan azizah. Why are you so cakap tak serupa bikin? Your hypocrisy and idiocy have gone beyond the pale. Shit!

  7. why not ? malays are 70-75% of the voter base - every serious politician needs to win over the segment. Tun has his forever ‘ malay under threat ‘ narrative. Hadi has his ‘ everybody else are infidels ‘

at least dsai’s junket is not London buying houses or shopping in US / Aust.

You must be one of Anwar's submissive doggies that follows wherever he goes and whatever he does. If he is a frugal person, he wouldn't have resided in a posh housing area in Sg Long and being chauffered in a luxurious BMW/Jaguar. Don't you see his behaviour is quite superficially artificial? Bear in mind that he is just an ordinary politician like any others. Nothing great to boast about.

    2. Anon 18:45 they are all superficial . where have you been ? have you not heard of this breed called politicians ? :) those that you see through you manage to give them a label superficial . What about those that managed to fool you ? :) face it buddy , which ever side of the bench what ever the color of the flag . That’s the game .

  8. "Duduk dalam penjara, dia kata dia banyak membaca buku! Itu seperti katanya Bapak Anwar Ibrahim!"
Betul tipu, tak tau la! But after listening all the falsapah Greek, China, India dan macam-macam kata-kata pujangga Arab, India keluar dari mulut 'beliau', sahih ada benar banyak buku yang dia baca. Tapi tak kan dia tak baca perangai bangsa dia?
Masa terluang di tirai besi, dia studi perangai bangsa dia kot? Dia akur juga kot.., bangsa dia memang mudah lupa macam sangkaan Atok Langkawi sorang tu! It' true, orang Melayu mudah lupa walaupun dah kena tipu banyak kali dengan scammer Pak Man telo dan ketua kaki main kutu kampung.
I think, dia... last find out...orang Melayu juga kaki gelojoh! Semua nak hasil cepat dan banyak...tapi usaha ciput!
So, to look like orang beriman, baik dalam komuniti Melayu, you no need to wear that jubah and the serban..just pakai songkok and sempoi berbaju Melayu, enough what!
So, to look 'zuhud' amongs the urban Melayu, you pakai aje baju kot but no neck-tie, please!
So, that's it! Don't susah kan diri like Mendiang Mathma Ghandi to beli jiwa Melayu.
And more over, boleh juga berbahasa Melayu tapi ada klas punya la... sampai juling lidah untuk orang marhien sebut!
Orang buat kecoh pasal kes, Arab tak layan dia...lagi tak jadi kudis bagi Papa (you nak panggil macam tu, dia don't mind. Dia accept berbeda pandangan).
So, itu ceritanya...brader Anwar tak kisah, you nak sembang apa pasal dia. At this moment, dia tahu orang Melayu suka minta bantuan dan dia sedang 'work-out' itu sekarang.
You know what? Itu Dr Sam..MB Terangganu fella baru datang jumpa dia. Apa sembang, hanya dia buat berita. Dia tahu to tackle the problem Melayu belah sana, kot?
Sekian, itu yang I nampak..so far!

  9. Well we can say anything about Dsai . Truth is he had to go there too like it or not . you think he likes that meet ? i know i wouldn’t . Imagine you inherited a government with 1mdb rubbish which the arabs were involved . Now you gotta go say hi knowing there are skeletons in the closet . what do you expect ? they invite you with open arms ? pretend nothing happened ? truth of the matter is he just needs to do what he needs to do . Go around say hi to everyone and reintroduce our government . That also everybody’s got a comment . He got no choice he gotta do it to bring in investments . Now everybody’s running him down . So say he falls or blunders or whatever . It’s gonna affect the nation and oh wait , ultimately the rakyat and ultimately you . He may not have been the choice of pm for some but too bad that’s what we got . Now FOR ONCE why don’t we just be supportive of whatever the government is doing instead of the non stop keyboard warrior b*tching . Be the change you want to see . Got nothing nice to say . Don’t say .
Imagine we lived in a country where religion meant nothing . It’s as good as your weekend tennis hobby . Don’t you think the country would be a happier place ? or would we somehow find something else to argue and fight about ?

    1. The nation will be happier, when it leads by a wise leader. Not politicians that 'Do not walk the talk'. How to be supportive when there is loads of dirt around?

    2. Respect is earned. Demanding for support is unethical. More so, one way ticket policy never works in a democratic system. Well, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink, can you?
I sincerely wish that this so-called kerajaan madani will fall after Syawal so as to allow him to break record of becoming the shortest term pm ever.
My beloved country cannot afford to be led by a delusional minded narcissist.
With each passing day, he is becoming increasingly unpopular. All thanks to his CAKAP TAK SERUPA BIKIN trait. What to do, that is his nature.

  10. Tickled by the proxy of PM's dense defence, informing us that his boss actually turned down the Saudi govt's suggestion of extending the visit. I mean, what else can be more hilarious than this?
His intention was to save face, but too bad, it backfired. Maybe, he has lost track of digital era that everything can be shared within seconds. It certainly hit hard with overwhelming embarrassment on him, but I have to say it serves him right.
Aimlessly lingering for 3 long days with so much emotional damage that bruised his ego is pretty impressive. Oh, can't he be honest for once, especially during the Holy month of Ramadan?

  11. Breaking news! Tun M is demanding the PH Chief to either retract or show evidence on the "amassed wealth" slander he made at pkr congress within 7 days. After which, legal actions will be taken if there is no reply.
It looks like this untouchable PM has swiftly brought forth an increasingly litigious society to Malaysia, leading by him with 6 defamation suits in less than 4 months. Wow! Really astounding! I think I'm going to ask Mr Google if it is a world record.

Time for old man to swallow some bitter pills . The SAME ones he has been dishing out to everyone when he ruled with an iron fist . One large order of poetic justice coming up Sir !

    2. Damn.... Hush! Hold your tongue first. Let see if Anwar has the audacity to take on the challenge. I suppose the whole world wants to witness those 6 boxes of evidence as well, which have been kept for decades. It is time to unearth for the final face-off smack-down. May nothing but the truth prevails.

whats amazing all these same bloggers bitch & moan abt tmsy’s reign, then abt Mr ‘ cant speak english so lets ban it all in official functions ‘, now its just dsai turn. same cycle.

  14. There we have it again. Yesterday, the Malaysian-007 appeared at the parliament corridor. Of course, his appearance stirred up the media. What set tongues wagging was his impetuous SPRINT into the DR. As always, striking yet another dramatic pose as a gimmick to shun the media grilling after receiving some humiliation lately? Nothing surprise. We see through him, again and again.

  15. We can call it what we want . Truth is this . Saudis are pissed off because King Salman Center putrajaya was closed . Kerja siapa ? kerja Tun . They also pissed cos donation to Najib was returned and spun out of control and politicised by the then opposition . So don’t be misinformed and be quick to judge . Don’t hate the player , hate the game . We are all but innocent bystanders / casualties of war .

  17. Impressed by the 'elegant silence' of LKS and those loud speakers of PH on the subjects of PM's nepotism and cronyism and many other u-turn promises. Perhaps eating their words, chewing their ego, and swallow their pride seem too much of an embarrassment. If it were Tun M, it would be a total different story. Ye, dream on to reach the end of the rainbow. Your hero anwar will get you there.

Fahmi Fadzil tak pernah baca business news ke? Biasalah economists satu dunia speculate apa central bank/ bank negara/ fed akan buat. Ini dikatanya fitnah???

Inilah dia orang2 yg dulu memperjuangkan kebebasan bersuara, kebebasan berhimpun, etc2. Bila dah dapat kuasa, 2x5 jer, semua pun takut dgn bayang2 sendiri.

Contohnya, episod Arab Saudi yg cukup memalukan itu. Saya yakin banyak lagi kejadian seumpamanya bakal menyusur. Sememangnya, dia dapat mengaburi mata pentaksubnya tapi bukan Allah Maha Mengetahui. Bubuh nama Madani pun indah khabar daripada rupa. Segala benda songsang dianggap normal baginya. Jadi, apa nak dihairankan dgn kerajaan luar tabii ini?
