GE15 predictions

I'm expecting GE15 to be held about a month from now because everyone would need about that much time to prepare for it.

It would be better if GE15 is tomorrow but that's simply impossible.

The campaigning alone would take at least about two weeks.

The last general election held in November was in 1999.

To be exact, it was held on a Monday on Nov 29.

That was at the height of the end year monsoon season.

This time it would be a bit earlier, so that the risk of floods should be less.

Well, hopefully there will be no flood at all.

Anyway, I'm expecting BN to do well and will combine with the Sarawakians and Sabahans to form a stable federal government.

The results will most likely be similar to GE13's in 2013. The indicators all pointed to that.

BN will take most of the Malay-majority constituencies except the PAS' strongholds, particularly in Kelantan.

Pakatan will get all the non-Malay majority seats thanks to DAP.

Basically, things will be back to what it used to be - Malays divided between Umno and  PAS while non-Malays mostly united under DAP.

Sarawak and Sabah will have their own autonomous set-ups.

PKR will be half dead while Pribumi Bersatu, Amanah, and the other small parties will be truly dead.

Yup, that includes Muda and Dr Mahathir's Pejuang.

I don't expect BN and its probable Sarawak and Sabah allies to have a two-third majority in parliament but they would by right have enough seats to form a government, which is stable enough to properly manage the country.

Ideally, I wish BN will put Mat Hasan as its PM candidate but BN will likely stick with Ismail Sabri.

I'm okay with that. What's important now is for us to have a stable government.

As I previously wrote, we need it to face the expected global economic recession next year.

    4. Many others, including political analysts have predicted that UMNO / BN will win GE15, based upon the outcomes of elections and byelections since GE14 and observations of shifts in voter sentiment from the cities and towns all the way into the remotest rural constituencies, and analysts have pointed out that the rural and semi-rural constituencies deliver around 40% of the seats in parliament.

So the final outcome of GE15 depends on the sentiment especially of the rural and semi-rural voters, whatever their priorities.

  2. I expect zahid will be nominated as PM when umno wins. Najib to be released after umno wins.

  4. History will repeat itself if BN and its allies just manage to win a marginal majority. Bear in mind that election during rainy season is rather risky as the reproductive rate of froggy is extremely high. Even if, with a 2/3 majority, unpredictable things can also happen. Until today, I still can't get enough of the howling of "I have the number, a strong, convincing and formidable one". Fantastically fascinating!!!

  9. The winner will win big. Like really big. Moral boosting big. The losers only win a handful of seats. Not more than 30. Demoralising defeat. Mosquito parties are the biggest loser. Almost all of their candidates will lose badly. The majority of the candidates too would lose their deposits.

  12. Then what was the point of the budget? Is it fait accompli, if BN win it is the same budget, or a signal that bonus and cash handout/help will be there if you vote for BN, a Pre-election manifesto?

Was it a BN or whatever the current govt is called budget?

Why table the budget with a coalition you don't want and call the election a few days later when your central theme is a stable and exclusively BN + GPS govt?

If they usually table the budget at the end of October does this mean that technically there is no budget now that the govt is dissolved or that since the budget has been tabled and voted they can actually star paying the bonus's and cash handout/handup during the caretaker govt period?

Sorry just very curious about, this tabling budget and then calling elections a few days later I think is unprecendented in Msia or anywhere else

    1. The budget tabled last week is proposal for 2023 budget. It still needs to be approved in parliment. New govn whoever it isj has two options, propose new budget or stick to the current proposal for approval by the new members of parliment.

  13. Looking forward to the much anticipated PM candidates of both sides of the divide and the settlement of disputable PN. They must be working around the clock now while pulling their hair out over the strategic moves. This is literally the only time they knuckle down until then. If PH is again serious about taking over the office, it really needs to push the incumbent Opposition Head to the periphery and let a new face lead the pack, be it a peacock like RR can render way better. Truly, we had had more than enough of those dramatic episodes of "me, me, me, the next PM" from a narcissist who is suffering from delusion of grandeur.

    2. Over Anwar's dead body that he would make way for new blood. That is why PH must have the guts to push him out of the way that he refuses all along to let go. His lousy track record of unprincipledness was such a burdensome encumbrance to anyone who comes near him, which as usual, weighs upon, lugs around and downs the PH. Who would ever forget the contemptible happening in Malacca where he encouraged the jumping and accepting of froggie. Wondering if ever there is a day, he would come to his senses and give up his dreamed PM pursuit. Perhaps, over his dead body.

Our country is going down the drain. At least uk offered my my children employment as docter an mjsd engineer. My generation was patriotic but younger malay generation are not addicted to janji palsu. So generation x y z choose your leaders carefully. Look at south of border neigbhour. The smartest and the brightest are leaving the country. They have to get peoples from india china malaysia to fill the gap to work any pay taxes to pay flr these leaving peoples parents pensions and other old age requirememt. When babyboomers retired at least 2 or 3 generation x y must pay taxes to provides the upkeep of the boomers. With declining population they have to import workers from oversea.
This will happen to our country.

  21. Anyone could tell that PKR is still haunted by its past spell of humiliating state election results. That is the exact reason behind its hesitation to hold the election simultaneously with GE15. Monsoon is just a lame excuse but planning to spend extra $ to have separate elections is fine, just like those forced elections to fulfill Anwar's political desires were ok. If one cares enough to calculate, how much public fund had actually been wasted in the hands of this power-crazed loony. Those millions of ringgit could, in fact, put to good for the poor. He is so fabulous when it comes to talk about poverty. Ye, only talk the talk. Such an idiotic chameleon.

  25. Support for BN has decreased since 2008. In the last GE, the decrease has continued and it will continue in the coming GE. The main reason is failure of BN to rebrand itself. I think Annie the maximum that BN can win is 50 parliamentary seats. Because of this, it really needs the help of PN, GRS and GPS.

    ReplyDelete

    1. True, support for BN has decreased since 2008 but PH failures after winning in 2018 proved that we don't have an alternative to replace them for now. BN will get the simple majority as well as the Sabahans and Sarawakians to set up a stable government.
