This guy is quite cute, relatively successful and very intelligent. He is also a very nice man, a real gentleman.
I know for a fact that he got scores of admirers among the ladies.
But his heart seems to be only for his girlfriend.
What baffles me was that his girlfriend always treated him quite roughly.
She hardly pays any attention to him.
Sometimes I asked my friend, how he could stand such a poor treatment by his girlfriend.
"It's because I love her," he always answered.
And when I asked him why he is working so hard to be successful, his answer was very weird,
"I have to be successful. Otherwise she would leave me," he said.
And when I told him that I think his girlfriend is a materialistic bitch, he was quick to defend her,
"It's not like that. She doesn't really wants my money. She just wants her boyfriend to be successful. She doesn't want to be with a loser," he said.
I then told him that's such a lousy bullshit excuse.
"If she loves you she must accept you the way you are, instead of forcing you to work half to death so that she can have a successful boyfriend," I said.
My friend just smiled and explained,
"You see Annie, she is like that because she is a Chinese. She is being practical. Most, if not all Chinese girls are like that.
"Love and all those romantic stuff are nice. My girlfriend enjoys all that too, but that's only while they last. At the end of the day, it's about surviving in this world and for that she chooses to practice her Chinese practicality."
When I think back to the time when my friend started going out with his Chinese girl, I remember that it was her who loved him to bits.
Now, it has turned the other way around.
Sometimes I even think that she is seeing someone else due to her coldness towards my friend, but when I suggested this to him he was adamant that his girlfriend would never betrays him.
"That is normal. Most Chinese girls turned cold when they get older. They become garang aunties," he joked.
In my heart I told myself that my friend is a hopeless case. I think he will continue to love his girlfriend even if he knew she had cheated on him.

As for Burma @ Myanmar, in the mid 1990's they have started to open their border to the rest of the world. Several Malaysian companies, including Felda have invested in Myanmar; The same can be said about China.

Why is that a progress when they are able to speak Chinese and working as maid in China? What is the logic?
Some of my nephew, nieces and friends speak Mandarin as well for they went to SJKC up to standard 6. They continue their study in SMK after that and proceed to Colleges and become professionals. They don't have to go to China to become maid.
Many Malaysians, including my nephews now speaks Japanese, Korean, Arabic, German, French, and Russian. They are able to do so, because they study in universities in those countries. They don't need to become maid to go and earn a living in any country. They are professionals.
Unlike the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar and Thailand to certain extend, countries which low cost and unskilled foreign labours are their major source of income, Malaysians are mostly high skilled and professionals. The Malay Muslims professional especially are hot commodity in the Middle East e.g. Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE etc. Prior to Arab Springs, they are all over the Middle east.
On that note, Malaysian nurses are well sought after through out the world. They don't have to become maid in any of those countries.
So your relatives going to sjk cina is very good. See sjk cina are 1 malaysia as everyone can study not like Mara. So rd and lol relatives study in Chinese sch.

DeleteI am one of them now. Prior to GE12, I believe in the right of Chinese to have their SJKC, but now my perception has changed 180 degree. I want the SJKC and SJKT to be demolished altogether, just like the PRC government uprooted the Church in China recently.
SJKC is "SARANG MENTERNAK KOMUNIS" in my opinion. If the Chinese want to study Mandarin and Chinese literature they can do so in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan, just like what Singapore is doing now. The same goes with the Indian.

It is a style and so is Sarah's. She writes based on her perception and understanding of the subject matter and her environment, though it may disagree to your liking.

DeletePerkasa and Isma are talking about proselytizing, not about the academic aspect of religion. Proselytizing is a very different ball game altogether. When I was in college, I was assigned/introduced to foster parents. Both of them are Christian missionary. They are very helpful and loving. They don't ask you to become Christian, but they will gradually bring you to gathering and events that are related to the Church activities e.g. potluck, fruit picking, picnic and all the usual stuffs. But if you are not careful, you will definitely follow their way.
I know several "Murtad Muslims" who have embraced Christianity. They live or rather practice under the radar. One of them is an American graduate, but Alhamdulillah today he has reverted to become a Muslim. In many colleges in the US, bible study is a must for all undergraduate and some colleges require a pass for that subject.
Many Muslims themselves don't understand about Islam thoroughly, especially the young one. Thus this needs to be monitored closely by the government. One case that I would like to highlight is a case where several primary school children were taught to sing gospel song by a tuition center some where in OKR or Taman Desa not long ago. This is one of Perkasa and Isma many concerns.

It is a speech meant to boost the morale of the students to achieve better after colleges and not to be contented with the status quo.UiTM is all bumi students, unlike other IPTA, thus such speech is necessary.

Hk, sinkapore, Taiwan has some top 100 unis in the world. How come top 100 unis accept them if not recognised.
DeleteFirst thing first. do they go to the top universities? I don't think so....many have to do A level first before they can be accepted to the university, not solely from Chinese Independence School certificate. Just like here in Malaysia, they have to change to National School to be able to do the same.
