Pas rules as Pakatan loses too

Well, the people had spoken....or rather the Malays had spoken.

They decided to change Umno with Pas.

Yup, Pas is the Malays' dominant party now and they will control the coming new government.

Sorry Pakatan people, you all still lose and this time the effect will be worse.

It's almost certain that the new government will have a Pribumi Bersatu PM but controlled by Pas.

It's going to be a coalition of PN, BN, GPS and GRS, which would have a comfortable majority of  131 seats in parliament.

How did this happen?

Pakatan's attack on Umno, especially about Zahid becoming PM if BN wins really works....for Pas.

Instead of switching to Pakatan, the Malays switched to Perikatan.

Pas now has 44 seats, Pribumi Bersatu 28 and Umno 26.

DAP has 40 seats while PKR has 31 seats, which are both smaller than Pas'.  Mat Sabu's Amanah has 8 seats.

And no one wants to partner Pakatan....at least not for now. Nobody else wants to go back to 2018.

Predictions?

Those are all bullshit....mine too.

Well, at least mine was my one person's opinion, unlike those made by multi-million ringgit units such as Invoke, Merdeka Centre etc.

What would I know, as this is the first time I didn't really go on the ground during a general election since 1999. I really didn't have the budget to do that.

What's next?

As I previously wrote, my biggest concern was the coming global recession and I was hoping for Malaysians to decisively vote for a strong and stable government to handle it.

They didn't exactly do that but still the most likely coalition which I mentioned above would have 131 seats which is stable enough.

Whether it has the ability to handle the impending crisis would be a different matter.

Nonetheless, Malaysians, you all have made your decision and better stick to it.

Like it or not, we have to support the coming government and pray that it has what needed for us to weather the storm.

As for Pakatan people who wished an alliance with BN for a more moderate government, sorry guys, you all said too much bad things about them being corrupted and evil.

Umno in particular will never do that.

That party will change its leaders and try to pick up the pieces, hopefully for the better.

So sorry that the good ones like KJ, Shahril Hamdan and Zafrul were casualties of GE15.

Personally, I don't think Umno is dead but it would never be the same again as the Malays moved more and more towards conservatism.

I hope ppl like Jo Ghani & Hasni will revive umno. Zaman dah berubah, we don't want warlords or pemimpin gengster anymore.

    1. "I hope ppl like Jo Ghani & Hasni will revive umno"....with what? Alif Ba Ta narrative 100% taken by PPBM-PAS laaaaaaaa. They have hijacked R&R from Umno. So what will Umno "sell" the Malays? Think.

    2. Anon 16:24,

THINK why jo ghani won in an urban seat. Kj probably would have won too if he had not been parachuted at the 11th hr.

Perjuangan alif ba ta is so 20th century.

    3. Jo won because he was their previous MP and ran an NGO there after losing power. Grassroots work all done, so he beat Khalid. I know this, it's walking distance from my house. Every other KL seat was lost by BN. So........what is Umno's new message that's better than PAS/PPBM?

  5. Whatever happen tomorrow I don’t care so long Datuk Joe Ghani MUST be appointed as Minister. His performance in TV3’s Budget 2023 interview with Rafizi Ramli was out of this world. He is indeed knowledgeable and skilfull in economics and finance. His achievement in Titiwangsa last night too is beyond impressive. He did an extraordinary job in that urban seat.

  6. I think we hv seen this coming when we see BN is being too defensive n too localise.. everybody r in their own turf n disregard the national offensive. No one taking charge. Zahid with his too negative pesona, ismail sabri too weak n expecting everyone to do the job for him. Tok Mat is too quite. We had see this coming when we see there r somehings wrong with the fence sitters voters. We do not address this n baking on the white voters stock. And while banking on the white voters we do not do all out to get them out. With 3.3mil members if BN lose shld not b this bad.

Rafizi with his arrogant ceramah n expected malay voters to b ok to b his 2nd class citizen to support the non malay. He never want to say lets get mjority of malay voter to make PH becoming a party with majority malay support instead he only jjust say get 20% to 25% malay vote to win. The malays will not accept this. As this is condensending to them.

PN will all the statement frm PAS n remmber those day when everythings is wrong from Abah n the malay r quite prepare to forget all tht bcoz they simply couldnt choose between PH n BN. Its show Malay indeed mudah lupa. PAS has taken the addvantage of the week BN n the malay dislike on PH to say they r the better choice. N its proven to b succesful for the 1st timer voters n fence sitters. PN utilise the gap in social media esp in tiktok where all the younger voters make their decision in life base on a 10 sec videos.

All in all, no decisive leadership from BN when they at war n frankly i still feel the blame is on Ismail Sabri. He ahould disolve parliment way back in august while BN is still can ride the negative perception of PH n PN. Due to this delay BN has lost all the advantage.

Zahid hamidi should go as he is the president n should take full responsibility of his strategy.

BN should not join the cabinet b a good opposition n build the party inside. N come back stronger.

Who to lead, lets ppls like Dr Asyraf, Isham, Shahril, Temgku Zafrul to take over. The good senior tht win the parliment like tok mat, ir hasni, khalid nordin, azalina to guide n monitor them

KJ, m glad he lose bcoz can make him to b more humble n understand to gv respect to UMNO tht he banking for support.

Anwar dream to become PM will still b a dream. Its not meant to b for him.

Never tot PAS will hv the biggest share in parliment. But tht what was be decided n by looking at their DNA n how they looks in things. I dont see stability in the next 5 years. GPS n GRS will not accept PAS as PM they will support the smallest party PPBM which is very cunning in politics. This will lead to instability once more

Lets see how PN mananging country for the next hear economic crisis. With all the sincerity we wish PN all the best.

    1. Ini lagi satu delusional. Asyraf wajdi dah kalah 3x berturut2 ko nak suruh jadi pemimpin pelapis umno??? Bertanding kat kubu kuat umno pun x leh menang.

Ppl like u are the reason umno lost. U refused to acknowledge capable individual like kj just because he is not humble. Wooi, he is a reflection of ppl in his generation la. Zahid hamidi tu humble sgt ke? Cuma pandai berpura2 & dilindungi kabel besar.

Would umno have won had election been held in Aug? Some of us decided at the very last minute at the ballot box la. Lagi teruk kot as at that time zahid would not have been acquited yet.

  7. Talking political parties as if it is your favourite football team is meaningless. If PN does rule this country with their formula and it is successfully. All Rakyat benefit from a growing economy. If it fails, then Rakyat has to swallow the bitter pill and made change in GE16.

  8. PH 82 + BN 30 = 112. Problem solved. At this omeny, inside the mind of UMNO, a part of it most likely include the threat of PN. Unlike PH, PN will be a major threat of UMNO as both are competing for the Malay base. The rise of PN might render UMNO to be irrelevant.

    It is all about politics.

    2. Correct.

Even BN's Director of Strat Comms (Najib's FB & social was run by him) thinks so.

      He posted this today:

"BN suddenly becomes the king maker who decides who will form govt and who is most likely to become PM - Midin or Nuar.

Without BN, PN has no chance to form govt and no chance for Midin to become PM.

Therefore, BN can be tough in any negotiations with PN.

Ironically, the best chance for UMNO to regain its position as the dominant Malay party is to work with PH where it can claim to represent the Malays.

If BN works with PN, UMNO will soon be replaced by PPBM-PAS as the dominant Malay party for years to come."

      Exactly true.

One thing you have to give to PAS grassroots & midlevel (not their lazy leaders) - they are very dedicated, hardworking and organised.

In power for 5 years in a PN-BN gomen, UMNO will be swallowed alive by PAS. UMNO will become like MIC, with a handful of seats while PAS becomes dominant.

  9. Best sour grapes post ever : )

I really think the main failure of BN was the pro-Umno bloggers.

Trapped in their own fantasy world in which the magic word "ADIB" will carry BN over 112 single-handedly.

    Don't change, okay?

    You're doing a superb job.

  10. umno will not exist for the next election if it ties up with PN. 1) draws from the same pool 2) as the 3rd ranked member, it will be marginalised by bersatu.

To survive and rebuild, they most likely need to be shielded by PH until can can reform & look appealing again to voters.

  14. Instead of barking like a mad dog with all the exaggerated forecasts to get people suckered into, PN chose to be hushed and stuck firmly only to its strategies. It came into the battleground as underdog and nobody even gave a monkey's about its existence until the counting of ballots. As the says goes, speech is silver, silence is golden delineates perfectly in Abah. Throughout the whole campaign, he never once got distracted or infuriated, including the very last minute 'christianisation' bombshell. Who would have thought PN could turquoise North and East peninsula beautifully? And, most importantly, pushing the tainted-laden Hamidi implicitly up against the wall. I wonder, what is Anwar up to now while PN is preparing to make its way to the Palace. Too bad, no such luck for him again as UMNO persists in 'no anwar, no dap' and even worse still 'no hamidi' now !!!!
