Snap Johor election is a good idea

 There was this story the other day;

Johor MB considers snap state election

Good lah. I'm all for it.

If they can have it in Melaka and more recently in Sarawak, why not in Johor too, right?

After all, there was no surge in number of Covid-19 cases after those previous two state elections.

The situation in Johor needs to be ratified anyway.

A state government shouldn't be let to operate with just a single majority seat in the legislative assembly.

It needs better mandate than that.

Well, if you all are Pakatan supporters, by right that news should be a good one as it's an opportunity for the opposition coalition to wrest back power in Johor.

But then came this story yesterday;

Johor Pakatan is not keen on snap election

excerpt;

The opposition coalition, in its statement today, said it would be insensitive to call for a snap poll because the people are currently burdened by the Covid-19 pandemic and its economic fallout.

The statement, which was jointly signed by Johor Amanah chairman Aminolhuda Hassan, Johor PKR chairman Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh and Johor DAP chairman Liew Chin Tong stated that all efforts, energy, commitment and funds should for now be channeled to help the people.

Well, actually we all know the real reason why the Pakatan people don't want the snap state election.

Except for in the overwhelmingly non-Malay majority constituencies, Pakatan will most likely be wiped out in Johor.

It will be a repeat of the recent Melaka state election, except that BN will be winning in an even bigger landslide victory.

Oh, Perikatan will lose even bigger too.

I'm quite confident with this prediction.

The Tanjung Piai by-election may be two years ago, but the result was indicative of the ground sentiment in Johor till today.

If I'm Hasni, I will call for the snap state polls and settle the matter as soon as possible.

Once the state administration has been stabilised, more works could be done for the good of the state.

My only hope is for Hasni to pick really good candidates for BN.

Please don't put crooks or weird people as candidates.

And please don't give Khaled Nordin a state seat to contest.

He's after all an Umno vice-president and therefore should just contest a parliamentary seat.

Yeah, I would like to see him win back the Pasir Gudang parliamentary seat....if he could la.

So, Khaled should be given the opportunity to focus on that. Who knows, maybe he could ends up being the PM...like Ismail Sabri. Nobody ever thought of that before, right?

State seats in Pasir Gudang should be given to other people. Really.

Jangan lah ada lagi yang bertanding dua kerusi tapi kalah kedua-duanya sekali.

Away from the floods and Covid-19

I spent the Christmas yesterday driving to the East Coast...and sleeping due to exhaustion.

Ya, I drove to where I am now as soon as the East Coast highway was opened to traffic.

The place where I was in Klang during the flood was still packed with relatives whose houses were submerged.

They still needed to stay there as the post-flood cleaning process would take quite a while.

I, on the other hand needed a break after sleeping on the sofa for several days in the crowded house.

My whole body was aching due to the discomfort caused by it.

Was a bit worried and did a Covid-19 test before making the trip yesterday and the result was negative. Alhamdulillah.

The trip itself was quite okay.

It was smooth except for a bit of traffic jam along the stretch near Sungai Dua between Bentong and Karak where they closed parts of the lanes due to damage caused by the floods.

I intend to stay here for at least a week.

My boss has yet to call me back to office, so I think it's quite okay to continue working from home or where ever I am now.

Anyway, I'm still scared of Covid-19 and trying my best to lessen the risk of being infected.

I hardly go out of the house these days.

I think Malaysians are of late mostly oblivious that scores of people died of Covid-19 everyday and thousands more were infected.

Maybe they were so used to it.

But really, the number of deaths and damages done by the floods was really not much if compared to that caused  the pandemic.

In fact, I think the floods this year was less severe than the last major one that was in late 2014.

The only difference was that the number of casualties this time was higher because Klang Valley was hit quite hard.

They were simply not prepared for it.

People and authorities in the Klang Valley don't really know what to do when the floods suddenly hit them, causing the extra number of casualties such as what happened in Taman Sri Muda in Shah Alam.

Even the early warning system were mostly focused on the East Coast.

Well, there were lots of complaints now with many blaming the authorities.

I noticed that the complaints this time were more than when the floods hit just the East Coast states or areas in rural Sabah and Sarawak.

Maybe people of Klang Valley know how to complain more, I guess.

Okay, I'm fine with that. It's normal to complain after a disaster.

However, I believe that we ourselves need to reflect on our attitude towards things such as global warming which could be a major contributor towards the disaster.

Our lack of concerns all these while may have caused disasters elsewhere.

I think people living in the more developed parts of the country should be more mindful about what others were going through in the rural areas.

We can never tell when things could turn bad for ourselves too.

It did occurred to me that maybe God is reminding us urban people not to be too dismissive of others due to our sense of entitlement and superiority over others.

That was actually my thought when I first read all those complaints.

Yup, I actually told myself to complain less and instead be more focused on what I could do to improve things.

Anyway, I'm still thankful to all the God's blessings despite the disasters.

Flood blues, poor connectivity and bullshits about 5G

I'm stuck for the past two days at a relative's house in Klang, perhaps the worst-hit by the floods.

Don't dare to try going home as I heard that the highways out of here had been cut off by flood water.

Reports indicated that the situation is quite bad, with over 11,000 already evacuated as I'm writing this.

I'm also quite frustrated because my phone line had been quite erratic, causing me not being able to make calls to inform my family of my situation.

This could be quite sticky if I'm in an emergency in the middle of this flood as I can't make a call for help.

It also kept switching from 4G to 3G, making access to internet quite hard.

Yesterday, I went to the nearbyAeon Big supermarket in Jalan Kapar to buy food supply but was not allowed in as I can't access MySejahtera.

Really pissed off about that.

By the way, I'm using the relatively good Samsung Note 10 Plus, so that I don't think it's the phone's fault.

My aunt in Puchong told me that she was also having the same problem.

I suspect that the telcos were at it again, fooling around with their 3G and 4G platforms.

I expect these sort of problems will continue if they are to be given the 5G rollout project.

I really don't understand why some people keep harping on the DNB being given the project to improve the country's connectivity.

The other day, Anwar and his Pakatan people like that Fahmi guy of Lembah Pantai made so much noise in Parliament over the matter.

They among others talked about DNB being a vehicle for cronies to make money.

That's quite rich for someone like Anwar, who while in power with Umno back in the 90s kept a kennel of cronies himself.

Dr Mahathir, as the then Umno president had to even put the list of Anwar's cronies (along with his and others) outside the Umno general assembly hall to shut up the guy from barking about the matter.

Yup, Anwar had been talking about everyone's cronies since back then, while at the same time practiced the very same thing.

He really should follow Dr Mahathir's philosophy on this one - cronies will always be there in one form or another to make profits, just make sure their works benefit the people.

Anyway, in case you all didn't notice, the anti-DNB guys trying to get the 5G project for themselves also were said to include household cronies such as Vincent Tan, Ananda Krishnan and Mokhzani Mahathir.

Personally, I don't mind these cronies and their telcos getting the project as long as they can offer the same or better deal than what DNB is offering - mainly cheaper services and better connectivity, especially in the rural areas.

The problem is that they have been raking tonnes of money from us all these years while giving us crappy services.

Just look at the way they now messed up the handling of the 3G and 4G platforms.

I almost throw my phone on the wall yesterday because of that.

Ya, and I'm still sore that village kids had to climb trees to get connectivity for their online classes.

Oh, Anwar and his gang also talked about DNB being potentially another 1MDB.

That's really stretching the bullshit a little bit too far.

The whole thing had been done on open tender la, okay.

Read this,

DNB’s 5G rollout will not be another 1MDB-like scandal

excerpts;

Deputy Finance Minister II Yamani Hafez Musa told the Dewan Rakyat today that the tender process for the estimated RM12.5 billion project was evaluated by independent firm Ernst and Young (E&Y).

He said the tender process for DNB was structured by E&Y according to global standards, unlike the one by Goldman Sachs, which was chosen by 1MDB, without an open tender to raise bonds.

Yamani was responding to concerns raised by Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (PH-Port Dickson) that the 5G network rollout via DNB may be a repeat of the 1MDB scandal.

He said Ericsson was selected over 13 other bidders as the 5G network provider in the country through a process, which was conducted by four panels consisting 50 local and international experts from 10 countries.

Anyway, I'm glad that Ericsson got the job instead of Huawei, which was among the main bidders.

I believe that if Huawei had got it, then the communists  may be able to have access to my phone and other devices.

Seriously, I do fear that they then may be able to shut down this blog remotely from Beijing because of my pro-Taiwan stance.

Okay, I know mine is just an insignificant blog but with the communist in Beijing, anything could happen.

Eh, enough lah.

I need to try find food supply somewhere now.

Don't know when this flood is going to end.

Stay safe guys.

Cheers.

Don't let village kids risk falling off trees to get 5G connectivity

Annuar Musa had previously announced that the decision to let Finance Ministry's special purpose vehicle Digital National Bhd (DNB) handles the 5G rollout will be reconsidered.

Then the communication and multimedia minister yesterday said the government will take into account the views of MPs who opposed its plan for the 5G rollout via the single wholesale network concept.

Those MPs who are mostly from the Opposition have suddenly became IT experts and ardent defenders of the telcos on the issue.

They didn't seem to even notice that the country's

Rural connectivity remains poor with industry giving focus on urban areas

Well, it's probably because most, if not all of those Opposition MPs' constituencies are in the urban areas and therefore they couldn't care less about connectivity in the villages.

Yup, the whole point of the plan to let DNB handles the 5G rollout was to make sure the rural areas don't lag further behind as they currently do because the telcos only care about making even more money in the urban areas.

The MPs talked about letting market forces being the deciding factor in the 5G rollout, which was typical of urban people.

For them, it's the villagers fault that they live in the rural areas and getting poor connectivity.

And I honestly believe that they don't really care about village kids having to climb trees to get internet connection for their online classes.

The digital divide reached a flashpoint last year when 18-year-old Veveonah Mosibin, from Kg Sabanalang Pitas in Sabah, went viral in March 2020 after she posted a video of herself studying on top of a tree in order to sit for her exams.

Ya, they did make some noises for political mileage when such stories went viral but when the government wanted to really do something to address the problem, they talked about market forces and such.

They even defended the telcos which supposedly spent RM26 billion on the 4G platform yet still resulted in stories of kids on trees trying to get connected with their classes.

How much the telcos contributed or offer to contribute to your election funds YBs?

Why I asked?

Because I saw this earlier this morning,

Huawei’s alleged 5G manoeuvres in Malaysia

Hopefully it's not true.

Sorry, anything to do with the communists in Beijing raises the red flag in my brain.

Anyway, I'm hoping for the government to stay the course with its original 5G rollout plan, which prioritise equality between the urban and rural areas.

Why do we need to care too much about the telcos that have already made tonnes of money all these while despite giving Malaysians relatively poor services, especially in the rural areas?

I really don't understand why the government is even considering making a U-turn on the matter.

Eh, Annuar, after this, if a village kid got hurt or worse after falling down a tree to get internet connectivity, those Opposition MPs will still go after you, okay.

They will have memory loss about pressuring the government to give the 5G rollout to the telcos, which as usual will give priority to the urban areas where their constituencies are located.

Former leaders ending up in jail will become a norm

The Court of Appeal today affirmed the High Court's conviction against Najib in the SRC case.

I was not surprised at all as the court yesterday already dismissed Najib's application to produce new evidence and even refused to postpone the trial after his defence team was quarantined due to Covid.

Guess, Anwar's Sodomy Two trial will remain as Malaysia's longest as it's quite obvious that the court system now has less tolerance for postponements than back then during that trial.

Still, we cannot discuss the decision to uphold Najib's conviction as it could lead to contempt of court.

I believe action will be taken now against those who committed the offence unlike back then when people got away with openly badmouthing the judiciary when Anwar's conviction was upheld by the appellate courts.

Well, let's just wait for Najib's next stage of appeal at Federal Court.

Anyway, Najib still have tonnes of other charges against him and then there are those other Umno leaders facing their own multiple post-GE14 charges.

So lots of fun still for those who enjoy this kind of drama.

The way I see it, we are just becoming like other countries where previous leaders ended up in jail when they are no longer in power.

Just the other day the court in Myanmar sent Nobel Prize winner Aung Sang Sukyi to jail with multiple charges more, including corruption, waiting on the side.

Najib same level as Aung Sang Sukyi not so bad, isn't it?

Really, no big deal, okay.

I'm also quite sure now that this trend of former leaders ending up in jail will continue in this country.

My prediction is that BN people in government will soon push for the next general election to be held and looking at what happened in Melaka the other day, they are going to win it big time.

Once they are fully back in power they will dig into any wrongdoing done by their opponents after GE14 in 2018.

I'm quite sure they will find something that will stand in court.

Then we will have another round of fun watching a witch hunting session.

Heck, they may even dig way back into things that happened during Dr Mahathir's first administration just to get back at the handsome old man.

Yup, they will most likely chase after those who committed offences during Muhyiddin's administration too.

Well, just wait and see lah.

Oh, by the way, Guan Eng's corruption case is still underway and that one is fun to watch too.

Man who loves his wife too much may end up being victim of political smear campaign

I received inquiries from two ex-journalists about this story yesterday,

Businessman’s Bangsar offices raided in major money laundering, tax evasion probe

excerpts;

A source close to the investigations told MalaysiaNow that the raid some two weeks ago in Bangsar followed months of investigations into alleged money laundering and tax evasion involving hundreds of millions of ringgit.

It said officers had seized “some documents and items” as part of the probe.

It is also learnt that the raids were carried out while Vinod was out the country.

Both ex-journalists who contacted me about the nonsense basically asked whether those at The Vibes were okay.

That's because The Vibes is part of the Vinod guy's Petra Group and they were worried about their former colleagues who work there.

That's how journalists are these days. Even those who have left the media industry are always worried about one another whenever there is a story that may lead to more lay offs among them.

The two ex-journalists asked me about the Vinod story because I previously wrote this post about him,

Stop whacking the guy who created jobs for journalists

Yup, click on that link if you want to know how the guy created jobs for journalists who were being laid off left, right and centre not too long ago.

Well, I actually told the ex-journalists that their friends are safe.

That's because I know the story by that Azmin's portal was just a follow-up to an old bullshit.

I wrote about that one in this post;

About Hungarian ventilators and why God creates rich fools

I did however double checked on the so-called raid of the Petra Group office and this was what I found out;

- LHDN and MACC officials visited the office over two weeks ago when the company's senior people were not around.

- They asked some questions and were provided with what they needed.

Err...that's all that happened.

Nothing dramatic like the office being ransacked and boxes of documents and stuff being hauled up into lorries like what they did to Najib back in 2018.

As to why the Azmin's portal blew up the incident in its story to a point of describing it as a scandal of the same size as 1MDB was as I explained in my previous post - it's just part of the Azmin-Anwar feud.

Azmin is trying to whack Vinod because he is an Anwar's supporter.

That's all there is to it. Really.

Well, I actually met and talked with Vinod only once but that was enough to convince me that he's an okay guy.

Quite humble for a rich man, who is relatively young at 53.

I noted only one peculiar thing about him though - the guy is so genuinely in love with his wife.

Rich men are normally not like that....probably because of their mistresses.

Seriously, I know about this sort of stuff just by observing the way men behave around their wives.

Can't blame Vinod though because his wife is very pretty and elegant - a bit like a Chinese Audrey Hepburn.

That, however, made me conclude that the guy is not very good in politics.

Men who love their wives too much tend to be idealists who end up making poor political choices.

Yup, that's my theory on why Vinod is supporting Anwar.

He wants to do good so much that he believes in Anwar's very persuasive talks.

If not for his support for Anwar, Vinod most likely doesn't need to put up with the Azmin's portal's smear campaign against him.

Anyway, do check what Vinod did with his extra money if you don't believe me about him trying to do good things.

I actually told him during that single encounter I had with him that I thought he was crazy for setting up The Vibes to help journalists who lost and about to lose their jobs when even powerful news organisations were abandoning them.

Vinod just laughed when I said that.

He seemed contented that he managed to help those journalists.

Well, hopefully he  laughed off this latest attempt to smear his reputation too.

5G roll-out for Malaysian public, not for telcos to make even more profits

I'm actually a bit uncomfortable with the hate directed at the government's decision to employ its special purpose vehicle Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) to handle Malaysia's 5G roll-out.

I believe that the explanation by Finance Minister Zafrul on the matter in Dewan Rakyat yesterday was good enough,

Zafrul expects public to benefit from proposed DNB-telcos deal

excerpts;

He told the Dewan Rakyat today that was so because the government’s special purpose vehicle (SPV) on the 5G roll-out, Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) will charge telecommunication companies (telcos) less than 20 sen per gigabyte for it.

He pointed out that the cost of producing a gigabyte under the telcos’ current 4G network is around 45 to 55 sen per gigabyte.

He estimated that the telcos will have to pay between RM3.5 billion and RM4 billion to DNB over a period of 10 years, which according to him would be cheaper then them developing their own 5G network infrastructure.

He said the telcos would need to spend up to RM1 billion per year if they are to invest in setting up their own 5G network.

Good what that with the deal we can get to use our phones and other gadgets at a cheaper cost.

I don't know how DNB is going to make it so much cheaper than if the whole thing be given to the telcos but Zafrul has put himself on the line by saying that.

It more or less means that the government has committed itself to keep the cost low.

If it turns out to be just bullshit later, we can always fry Zafrul and the gang.

Anyway, why didn't the telcos counter whatever the DNB is selling to the public on the project by maybe arguing that they could offer an even better deal?

Why did their proposed 5G roll-out plan costs so much more than DNB's?

Was it to make the public continue to pay a lot more for their services?

As far as I'm concerned, as long as what is being done benefits the public, I have no problem with it.

I couldn't care less whether the telcos make more profits or otherwise.

Anyway, I have been told that some people are lobbying for the government to set up another entity to compete with DNB on the 5G project so that it wouldn't be a monopolistic venture controlled by cronies.

Well, if the government wants to consider that, then it must make sure the other proposed entity care to compete in the rural areas unlike the telcos, which have always been competing exclusively for the market in urban areas where the profits were.

Seriously, I'm of the opinion that our telcos, which were among the most profitable in the world only care about their profits.

Otherwise, how can anyone explain this;

Reports put Malaysia's 4G speeds at global bottom tier

excerpts;

Among 100 countries, Malaysia ranked lower than Asean neighbours Vietnam, Thailand, and even poverty-stricken Laos when it came to “Best Mobile Experience” related to 4G LTE wireless broadband speeds, based on global independent data company Tutela’s report in September 2020.

The Tutela report titled “Global Mobile Experience: Country-level Comparison”, ranked Malaysia at 81, three notches below Indonesia’s 78.

Laos is number 75 on the ranking, below Thailand’s 74 and Vietnam’s 50. Meanwhile, Singapore is among the best 20 in the world at the 17th spot.

Yup, they gave us crap services yet make themselves lots of profits.

Kids in the villages have to climb trees to get connectivity for their online classes,  okay.

What's the point then with all the talk of the telcos going against monopoly while the public is getting a lousy deal despite  their supposed competition?

Honestly, I think that our telcos are just competing to make more profits for themselves at the expense of we all Malaysians and nothing else.

Unless they could offer something better to the public compared to what Zafrul had said about the DNB deal, I would like to suggest for them and their lobby group to just shut up about the 5G roll-out.

Tommy's racist, racist, racist chants

 Former AG Tommy Thomas asked

What has race got to do with being AG?

excerpts;

Thomas pointed out that he had worked for the PAS government as a legal adviser and for Malay institutions and they had never had an issue with him being around.

“When that appointment (as legal adviser to the Kelantan PAS government) took place, I stayed on as their lawyer, they did not take into account racial considerations. So, to some extent, we thought it would be the same at the public level.

“The lesson has been learnt. I agree with you that the establishment, including the legal establishment, has taken the position that this is a Malay preserve from Merdeka. I accept that,” he said.

Well, Tommy was basically saying that people were against him being appointed as the AG because of his race and that those who criticised his actions as the AG are racists.

Actually Tommy, people were against you being an AG because of this sort of things,

MACC gave Tommy Thomas 681 names to be charged in the 1MDB case but only FOUR went to court. Why?

excerpts;

WHEN TOMMY THOMAS was the Attorney-General, new and smelling likes roses, and the Pakatan Harapan government led by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was in power (and witch-hunting was hot in progress), the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) offered 861 681 names of individuals and entities to be charged for alleged corruption, alleged money laundering and alleged other crimes related to dethroned PM Najib Razak’s 1MDB.

Tommy Thomas decided, and it would have absolutely nothing to do with selective prosecution or political pressure, if you ask him, to charge only FOUR.

Yes Tommy, it's really got little to do with your race.

Instead, it's because of your actions, which were tainted by partisan politics.

Remember all those charges against Pakatan people that you dropped when you were the AG?

It was too obvious, okay.

So typically Pakatan of you Tommy to cry racist, racist, racist whenever you were being criticised.

Especially if your critics were Malays.

It's the very reason why many Malays abandoned the Pakatan bandwagon after GE14.

They now realised that it was all mostly bullshit.

And now that the chips are down, many Pakatan people have started to openly accuse Malays as being racists and insulted them in all kind of manners.

Just look at their social media postings. I gave some examples in previous postings.

And of course that pisses even more Malays, which means that's about it for Pakatan's hope of coming back to power.

You cannot go around calling Malays racists and insult them to win their votes.

They are after all the majority in this country.

What? You are trying to shame them into supporting you?

Don't be such stupid arrogant racist pricks, okay.

Sigh...the worst are stupid, arrogant, racist lawyer pricks.

BN's Melaka victory: Pribumi is dead, Pakatan should stop dreaming

 Yup, this is the story as you all should know by now;

BN wins landslide victory in Melaka

As I wrote in my last post, I saw it coming just by looking at the way Pakatan and Perikatan conducted themselves throughout the campaigning period.

Honestly, they were just pathetic.

They shouldn't sell the same shit twice, especially after all that happened since BN was defeated in 2018.

Yet they were still peddling the same bullshit and even went overkilled with some of it.

Making Rosmah looked like an evil Squid Game character is not going to win you votes anymore, okay.

Well, my only regret was that the Rauf guy won in Tanjung Bidara.

Still credit to the voters there for drastically reducing the BN's majority in that Umno stronghold to just over 300.

That should send a clear message to Umno that it's not the party that people dislike but instead the crappy leaders that turned the people to hate the party.

The outcome of the Melaka Election is also the death knell of Pribumi Bersatu.

As far as I'm concerned, they are dead meat now.

In fact I think they were already dead much earlier  when an MCA guy soundly beat their candidate in the Malay majority Tanjong Piai parliamentary by-election.

If not for the Pakatan implosion and the pandemic, the party would already be part of history now.

Starting tomorrow, I believe all the rats will be jumping out of the ship.

As for Pakatan , they should now kiss goodbye to any of their remaining hope for a repeat of their 2018 victory.

Even MCA and MIC candidates can win in Melaka this time.

Don't get angry with me for saying that because I already tried to advise them in this previous post of mine;

Pakatan must contain its racists to win in Melaka

Of course they would not listen to me as they think they are superior beings and can get away with calling people racists by themselves being racists.

And just look at the way they behaved in Dewan Rakyat...simply disgusting, okay.

Anyway, I think what happened in Melaka will most likely push forward the next general election.

BN may want it much earlier now that they know they could go on their own.

Yes, they don't even need PAS now, which I think is a good thing.

PAS betrayed them in Melaka by choosing to be with Pribumi Bersatu, and for that I think they should keep PAS away from them.

I was never comfortable anyway with the prospect of a government ,which is too Malay dominant.

It's better for Umno to go just with MCA and MIC as I think that's a better formula for Malaysia as it was for the past decades before their defeat in 2018.

The trio should be enough for the coalition. No need to take in any other parties, especially the likes of Gerakan PPP and such as they were just deadweights which turned traitors when the chips were down.

Okay, if the Sarawakians want to rejoin, then that's okay. At least they are worth something.

Well, on top of it all, Umno still need to learn the lessons from what happened since 2018 and clean up the party, especially by getting rid of the bad leaders.

It's the rakyat who allowed BN to bounce back instead of those crap leaders.

So, stop forcing them to accept such leaders, okay.

Oh, almost forgot, special congratulations to Mat Hasan for leading BN to victory in Melaka.

Lucky that they put him back in charge after briefly replacing him with that boorish Tajuddin guy.

Umno people, please take note of this again - the rakyat don't want leaders like that Rauf and Tajuddin fellas anymore.

Please ya, offer them good leaders like Mat Hasan next time around.

Okay, cheers.

BN is likely to win in Melaka

Talked with my friends in Melaka and they all said BN will win the state election tomorrow.

No surprise actually if that's the case, because Pakatan and Perikatan both seemed to have failed to raise their game during the campaigning period.

But then again, I'm writing this far from Melaka.

I'm not risking Covid-19 to be there just to check on things myself.

So, there is still the probability that what I'm writing here is not going to be true.

Well, whatever it is, I still wish for that Rauf guy to lose in Tanjung Bidara.

Other than that, I don't really mind BN winning the election.

After all, BN is offering the half way point between Pakatan and Perikatan.

Pakatan is offering what we see during their 22 months in power while Perikatan promising something like during Muhyiddin's administration with a bit more dose of the Malay Islamic stuff.

BN should be somewhere in the middle of those two.

Sure, they will say if BN wins, things will be back to bad and corrupt again, but just compare the Pakatan and Muhyiddin administrations with that of the previous BN government and honestly tell when was Malaysia better.

Seriously, was life better after BN fell in 2018?

Now, I believe that many people in Melaka will one way or another ask themselves that question before casting their votes tomorrow.

Bear in mind that roughly 68 per cent of them are Malays.

I'm quite sure most of the non-Malays will vote Pakatan, but the real fight in Melaka is between Umno and Pribumi Bersatu.

And I don't see Pribumi Bersatu leading Perikatan to victory despite teaming up with Pas to paddle a more Malay Islamic ideology.

The Malays may be put off by Pakatan's liberal ideology which many of them see as not being in their interest but they were also by right not so keen on Perikatan due to the bad memories of Muhyiddin's administration and his party's wishy washy image.

I also believe that BN would actually remind them of better times.

They will try not to see the flaws of Umno and its ugly corrupt tag to get back to that time.

Despite all the accusations about Umno leaders and their allies, for them life was better back then.

I know, some of you will say what I see and write here is shitty, but that's just how things seemed to be in Melaka at the moment.

Not so hot for Undi18

I wouldn't say that I'm against the Undi18 thing but I'm definitely not in favour of this country's fate being decided by persons who have yet able to survive in the world without the help of their parents.

Sorry kids, I don't really like the decision of those among you who still need to ask someone for money to buy their underwear to affect my life.

Seriously, I think those who are to be allowed to vote should not be because of their age but rather their ability to understand real life in real world.

If a kid is 15 but has worked to help support his/her family because of poverty or something, then by all means, let him/her vote.

Such a kid, I think deserves to vote more than an adult who never really know the harsh reality of life because of their privileged position in life.

Even more so compared to 18-year-olds who have yet to get a real taste of life.

Now we even have kids running for public office, thinking they know better about what the general public needs.

In Melaka, the press has started to highlight such a candidate;

Melaka polls: Youngest state election candidate says age no barrier to serving the people

Okay, fine.

But I think she should at least finishes college and works for a while first before running for public office.

I mean, get a taste of the real life before deciding she can represent others.

Anyway, after saying all that, I would say that I will nonetheless vote for her if her opponent is a worse choice to represent me...like that Melaka Umno boss Rauf.

At least the girl looks nicer and most probably wouldn't do too much damage.

I just hope that she wouldn't be as irritating as Syed Saddiq if she gets elected.

As for the other kids who will soon be voting, I hope they at least know how to take care of themselves first.

Okay, no need for them to work first or anything like that but they should know how to clean up their rooms, wash their own clothes and not being too much of a nuisance for their parents.

The mat rempit and posh Bangsar-type kids shouldn't think about voting,  I hope.

Hopefully Umno will lose in Tanjong Bidara

I actually have only one wish about the coming Melaka election, that is for Umno to lose in Tanjong Bidara.

It's because of this report,

Umno strongman Rauf to contest in Melaka polls, eyes Tg Bidara

Yup, I don't like that Rauf guy very much.

As I previously wrote, the whole state election nonsense is because of the power struggle between him and his opponents in Melaka Umno.

Now he is eying the safest BN's seat to contest.

Sigh.

Constituents of Tanjong Bidara are 93 per cent Malays, who are mostly fishermen and odd job workers.

BN's Umno candidate won the seat with the highest majority percentage in Melaka in 2018.

I know, considering all that, Rauf will be almost  unbeatable if he's really fielded there.

And once he wins that seat, he'll be the new ruler of Melaka....of course, provided that BN actually wins the whole state election.

With Pakatan struggling to get its act together for the election and Perikatan being as stupid as always with its Malay Islamic supremacy agenda, BN stands a good chance of winning,

And with that Rauf will get his wish.

Urgh.

Bear in mind ya, Melaka people are about 68 per cent Malays.

Now, I don't really mind BN winning the state election but the thought of Rauf lording over the land because of that, really put me off.

That is why I'm hoping (against all hopes) that he will be defeated in Tanjong Bidara.

From what I heard, Pribumi Bersatu will be fielding Masjid Tanah MP Mas Ermieyati Samsuddin there.

She was the Umno Puteri chief before defecting not long after GE14.

I was told that she bailed out of Umno because of a quarrel with Rauf, the same as the others who were sacked that day.

If it's true, then I don't blame her. I would quit too if I'm forced to kowtow to that Rauf guy.

I bet she must had volunteered for the seemingly impossible mission.

And I hope she will somehow wins.

Umno really needs to get rid of its bad leaders,

Tuesday 2 November 2021

Pakatan must contain its racists to win in Melaka

So, Pas has decided to go with Pribumi Bersatu instead of Umno.

As announced, they will use the Perikatan logo in the Melaka election.

By right, that means the end of the Umno-Pas cooperation in Muafakat.

Unless of course if Pas suddenly said they are just using the Perikatan logo but still cooperating with Umno.

Well, Pas can be quite smart, sometimes.

That means they will get some free seats in Melaka.

Pribumi Bersatu, which surely be grateful to Pas will let it contest several overwhelmingly Malay majority seats while Umno (if Pas' mind trick works) will think that they are still cooperating with each others and would not contest those seats.

I know, it sounds ridiculous, but Umno can be quite stupid, sometimes.

Just look at their Melaka chief.

Urgh.

Never mind.

Anyway, Since it's going to be basically a three-cornered fight, I think Pakatan has a good chance to win back Melaka.

Unless, they are too stupid to even pull this one off.

At the moment, if I'm Anwar, as their leader, I will make sure to prove to the Malaccan Malays that Pakatan is not their enemy.

Malays make up about 68 per cent of Melaka's population.

Actually that's all it should take for Pakatan to win in Melaka.

But of course Pakatan have proud slut mouths who wanted to prove that they are champions of their own race.

Example;

- Those bastards who defended the rioters who caused the death of fireman Adib.

The Malays, including many of the liberals among them hate these dumb ass racists in Pakatan.

And then there were those stupid Pakatan keyboard warriors who are very poor at concealing their racism.

Example;

does it really matter for elections ? all umno warlords / idiots ( or any malay politician ) need to do is take out the kris, spew out race & religion, then throw some cash and goodies, the voters will come like flies to shit.

Annie21 September 2021 at 17:54

This kind of language used towards Malay voters is one of the main reasons why Pakatan lost their support after winning GE14.

Yup, they have stupid racists in Pakatan too.

Well, Anwar better do his best to keep them from ruining Pakatan's chance of winning in Melaka.

It's really the best time for Pakatan to regain lost ground as the perpaduan ummah thingy is really in disarray now.

Umno is currently being run by ugly people (look at the picture above) , while PAS and Pribumi Bersatu will go all out on the Malay Muslim supremacy platform.

Malays actually don't really like being led by ugly characters or supremacist zealots.

Most of them like to have leaders who look and behave handsomely and act cool.

Really.

But then again, as I said, they don't like the racists from the other races even more.

And there are tonnes of those in Pakatan.

So, Pakatan need to bear that in mind going into the Melaka election, okay.

All the best, Sajat

 Finally,

Nur Sajat the transgender has landed in Australia

excerpts;

“What else do we want? We want freedom. So, human rights here, it is very important. They (Australia) really prioritise human rights. I don’t want anything. I just want human rights.”

Sajat has reportedly liquidated all her business interests at home and is looking forward to resettling in Australia, with a plea “Please respect me as a human being. That’s all.”

I previously wrote on March 3 about

Prosecuting Sajat

excerpts;

It's the thought of being further humiliated that's most scary to her.

Ya, they do love to humiliate people like Sajat.

Imagine a botak Sajat in a prison garb and handcuffed.

A disgrace to Islam, they said.

Well, Sajat should have just migrated to another country to save herself from all this trouble.

And migrate she did...or rather fled overseas.

I know that some would say good riddance but I think this whole thing about Sajat was unfortunate.

It doesn't make Islam or Malaysia looks good.

All just because of some people's ego and their belief that they have the right to bully people like Sajat.

I still believe that her case should have been better handled.

I know, Sajat can be quite irritating with her antics, but that does not mean we should bully and humiliate her.

There must be a way to correct her mistakes (and I'm not talking about her being a transgender).

After all she still have her parents and family.

Sajat and her mother

Try to imagine if we ourselves have a child who is like her. Can we accept the child to be bullied and humiliated by others?

I believe that transgender people are the same as those with disabilities.

We need to help them instead of bullying and humiliating them.

We shouldn't bully and humiliate an autistic person for being different from us and behaving abnormally. The same should be the case with transgender people.

By the way, now that Sajat is seeking asylum status in Australia, we have officially became a bunch of anti-transgender society, while in actual fact we are not.

The majority of us are not like that, okay.

Anyway, I don't blame Sajat for running off to Australia.

Hopefully, she will be happier there.

Gangster stories

This is a nice political (or is it gangster?) story,

Knives come out as Penang DCM mulls move to Parliament

excerpts;

There are two rival sides, one aligned to Ramasamy and one said to be led by an ambitious newcomer. DAP insiders who gave FMT the information would not name the newcomer.

The Ramasamy allies are Penang city councillor P David Marshel and Bagan Dalam assemblyman Satees Muniandy.

Marshel may be facing some legal trouble. Someone has made a statutory declaration saying he was involved in the gruesome slashing of Penang Hindu Endowments Board executive director Ramachandran Muthiah in July.

I always laughed a bit whenever I came across these kind of stories.

These were used to be MIC stories, but now they have apparently moved to DAP.

I wonder how Guan Eng is going to handle this nonsense. Hopefully he won't end up getting beaten up or gruesomely slashed to ribbons in the process.

These people do sound aggressive and dangerous, after all.

And they talked nonsense loudly too....like that Jelutong MP.

Meanwhile, there's also this story today about a lawyer who think it's wrong to seek justice for Adib and his loved ones;

Further probe into firefighter’s death will cause trust deficit, says lawyer

excerpts;

“Unless there are overwhelming omissions and/or hard evidence of obvious bias, a second follow-up ‘inquest’ and its findings may cause further credibility degradation,” SN Nair said.

He said it also undermined the findings of the original pathologist and the department concerned.

These people are simply too much, if you ask me.

Get to become a lawyer and they think they are so smart already.

It makes my blood boils that they still want to defend those who killed Adib.

For them it's okay to attack firefighters who were trying to do their job and even killing them.

Real bastards.

I will never stop praying for those who killed Adib or at least caused his death to be punished.

As for those who defended the act of killing him, may they all rot in hell when the time come.

Malaysia shouldn't condemn Aukus

 I think Hishammuddin was wrong or intentionally being wrong on this;

Malaysia maintains stand Aukus potentially destabilising

How can the US, UK and Australia pact destabilise this region when it's already being destabilised by the communists in Beijing, who claim almost the whole of South China Sea as their own and built artificial islands there with tonnes of missiles on them?

Aren't it them who repeatedly sent warplanes into our airspace and militarised ships into our waters?

Why then are we condemning the pact which may help us defend our territory?

Whether we like it or not, we have to admit that we don't have enough military strength to push back Beijing's expansionism.

If we really want to defend our rights in South China Sea, we have to align ourselves with stronger powers.

Otherwise, we should just shut up and give those area that Beijing wants by giving up our claims in those waters.

Or are we going to just protest whenever the PLA ships and aircraft intruded into our territory?

How about if the PLA lands its troops on a Malaysian island and plant their flag there?

How about if that happened in Labuan?

Are we going to just protest that one too?

Seriously, I think Hishammuddin had gotten a bit less clever ever since he went to buy some warships from China when he was the defence minister.

Okay, I know that most Malaysian leaders tried very hard to please the communists in Beijing as we want them to invest here, but are we that hard up for their money to the point of letting ourselves be bullied by them?

Honestly, I don't like to see the US and its allies as the ones we have to rely on to counter the PLA threats but it looks like at this moment we don't have much choice in this.

Even if we don't like them to have a pack like Aukus, I don't think we should condemn it as destabilising.

My personal opinion is that the pact actually have an opposite effect to the one claimed by Hishammuddin, as it would send a signal to Beijing that they can't go around bullying smaller countries like Malaysia and simply take whatever they want that rightfully belong to others.

The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) leads the Royal Malaysian Navy frigate KD Lekir (FF 26) during a passing exercise. Carl Vinson and Carrier Air Wing 17 were underway on a deployment to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility in the Far East in January 2011.

As it is, Beijing is threatening to invade Taiwan. That, I think is something we should condemn instead.

If that really happened, the whole region will be plunged into chaos and hundreds of thousands, if not millions will die, especially among the Taiwanese civilian population.

A conflict like that will not drag in only US, UK and Australia, but also Japan, South Korea and the other Asean countries.

We will also be forced to take side as the war will definitely spread into the South China Sea where we also have claims to a portion of it.

Are we, as a democratic country not obliged to contribute to the defence of fellow democracies such as Taiwan?

Or are we going to side with Beijing for money?

Let's not screw up Covid recovery...too much

State boarders are once again being reopened today after almost 10 months.

Covid-19 deaths and infections are also apparently in decline.

Things are indeed beginning to look good.

I have however decided to wait a little bit more before going back to KL.

Don't feel the need to rush back as I can actually do my work from where I am now.

After all, the office will be mostly empty as the company I work for was hit rather hard by the Covid-19 economic fallout.

I'm the only one left in my team now with the others having moved on to stronger companies for better job security.

Whatever it is, hopefully business will pick up after the pandemic and I can get my full pay again.

I actually have to regularly use my savings to pay for expenses during this pandemic.

Well, at least I still have a job while many others were not so lucky.

I even have a friend who is an engineer now selling eggs online to make ends meet.

As I previously wrote, if I ever get to that level, I thought of setting up a burger stall.

Anyway, I will try not to complain too much about my difficulties nor am I going to blame anyone for my situation.

But, I would appreciate it if no one makes my life harder by causing problems, which hamper the country's recovery from the pandemic.

Ya, I'm talking about the politicians who control our government and their counterparts in the Opposition.

They better not start with their nonsense again....at least not too much.

Okay, the coming bullshit state election in Melaka is already rolling  and nothing much apparently can be done to stop it.

I'm praying that there will be no new major Covid-19 outbreak because of it.

Hopefully, there will be no other state elections after that too, at least until the pandemic is really over.

The politicians, by right shouldn't feel that they have the luxury to quarrel now as they actually need to be focus on Covid-19 recovery effort.

But that's just me saying.

Of course they will continue to fight their silly nonsense at our expense. That's after all what democracy is all about.

By the way, about the Melaka state election; I think Pakatan will win that one because Umno was being  so screwed up about it....unless of course Pakatan screwed up even worse over the next few weeks.

Relax DAP, MAHB can handle the airport business

I noticed that DAP leaders have been pushing for the government to proceed with airport upgrading works, in particular the one in Penang, which state government is controlled by them.

The other day, former transport minister Anthony Loke who is a DAP senior leader and Seremban MP even suggested for MAHB, which runs the airports to be delisted in order to enable such upgrades of the airports.

I don't have too much complain against Loke but I think he was being unfair with his suggestion as MAHB has been working hard and spending much maintaining the mostly empty airports during the pandemic.

Then today the DAP-led Penang government once again called for the government to reverse its decision to postpone most airport-related projects, as announced by Transport minister Wee Ka Siong on Monday.

Why are they being so pushy about this airport upgrades now?

The pandemic is not yet over, okay, and the tourists are not yet coming in droves for quite a while more.

What's the rush?

Penang Airport needs immediate upgrades?

I read that one of the DAP guys said this is the best time to do the upgrade works as there were not too many people yet at the airports.

Hey, I think that's silly, okay.

I was at Heathrow Airport back in 2006 when they were renovating it and I didn't experience much inconvenience because of it.

The airport was packed despite it looking like an Arked Mara because of the upgrading works.

I believe that for now, we should upgrade the airports only when we really need to do it and more importantly when we have the money for it.

I don't think we have that kind of money to spend at the moment as we are still on our way to recover from the pandemic and its economic fall out.

At the moment, the priority should be in helping the rakyat instead of making airports bigger and nicer like Changi in Singapore.

DAP people, you all agree with me on that, right?

Tell your leaders la that no point in having fancy airports if the people are suffering.

Oh, and I believe that if we really need to make the airports better and nicer, MAHB will make sure the government know what to do and when to do it.

After all, I think MAHB knows about the airport business better than the DAP leaders.

About the nonsense in Melaka (updated)

UPDATES at 16:07

Just shortly after I did this post, Rauf announced that

Melaka state assembly dissolved; election to come

Ironic, isn't it?

Hahahaha

ORIGINAL POST

Friends who know Melaka politics more than me said the reason for the ongoing nonsense there was this guy;

This Rauf guy is the Melaka Umno chief, appointed by party president Zahid after BN's defeat in GE14. He is also currently the Melaka state assembly speaker.

He was formerly the party's executive secretary when Umno was led by Najib.

My friends said the Umno assemblymen and their gang who decided to withdraw support from the BN's Melaka CM did so because they can't stand Rauf's meddling in the state administration.

Well, if it's true, then I really don't blame them for doing so.

I don't like this Rauf guy too.

In fact I wrote quite a lot of criticisms against him back then when he was running the show at Umno's headquarters.

I actually started to dislike him during the run-up to the Tenang by-election in 2011.

As the party's executive secretary at that time, he tried to force Johor Umno to submit to him in the handling of the by-election campaign.

Those days, Umno's typical by-election campaign involved a lot of circus-like nonsense which allowed certain individuals making lots of money from renting out equipment and other non-essentials.

Johor Umno, then led by TS Abdul Ghani Othman and his right handman Datuk Ahmad Zahri rebuffed Rauf and proceeded to manage the campaign in Tenang using minimal resources with great success.

After the BN's victory in that by-election, an unhappy Rauf caused Johor Umno war room director to be barred from attending meetings at the party's headquarters, giving the excuse that the guy was not a division chief like his peers from other states.

I was based in Johor at that time and when I heard about what happened, I told myself that this Rauf guy is bad for Umno.

There were other incidents after that which reenforce my negative view of the guy.

As I had previously written, Umno has these sort of people to blame for its defeat in 2018.

People are simply fed up with their ugly faces and antics.

That's why I was very disappointed when Rauf and other Umno leaders whom in my opinion caused BN's defeat were once again given senior posts after GE14.

How can a party's executive secretary like Rauf ,who failed in GE14 be given the post of a state chief was beyond me.

So, I was not actually surprised when my friends told me that the guy is back doing his old tricks again, causing havoc within the Melaka Umno rank.

It must be really bad, I think.

Well, if I'm Zahid, I would think of a way to remedy the situation instead of calling for a snap poll yesterday as the Covid crisis is not yet over.

Of course, in the first place i wouldn't appoint someone like Rauf to lead Melaka Umno as his face alone could cause defeat in the state in the next general election.

If I'm the Umno president, I would make sure all the party's state chiefs are handsome, capable and most importantly sincere leaders.

Seriously.

About Oshin, Taoist rioters and Beijing communists

A friend yesterday complained that I have not been writing for almost two weeks.

Well, I was actually busy doing other things.

There's my work and also Oshin.

Ya, Oshin is that old Japanese drama from the early 80s.

I first watched it with my grandmother when I was a kid. We love it so much.

Finished all 297 episodes of it again these past days. It's that good.

I recommend everyone who has a daughter to watch it with her.

It teaches girls to be good and tough, and that most (if not all) men are useless bastards.

Oshin had a rough upbringing being badly treated by her father and brother. When she's grown up, her business were repeatedly wrecked, first by her husband and then her son.

Oh, and her mother-in-law was bad too. Ya, some women are as bad as men.

Whatever it is, moral of the story is that girls need to stay tough and focused as well as believe in themselves to face the world.

As for what has been happening with the country, I honestly don't really feel the need to write about it.

It's been quite mundane actually.

Covid casualty number is still quite high but at least the vaccination appeared to be working and the situation seems to be improving.

I hope to go back to work in KL once the borders open. Ya, I'm now in the East Coast, enjoying myself here for the past two months.

As for politics, it's been thankfully rather quiet. Of course there were the usual chatters but nothing really significant. So, I'm going to leave it at that for now.

The only time I was actually tempted to write something these past few days was when there was that riot in front of a Taoist temple in Salak South.

That was a really stupid one.

But one of my friends beats me to it with this write up;

Learn from Adib’s tragedy; be firm with rioters

I agree with my friend about the need for the authorities to be firm with rioters but not so much when it comes to comparing the Salak South little riot with the Adib's tragedy.

Well, for one thing, the crazies in Salak South were Chinese, and they are Taoists some more.

After watching the video of the incident, I concluded that Taoist Chinese make lousy rioters.

They really should leave the rioting business to others.

I even laughed quite a bit watching their antics that day. Ya, especially so when I saw those ladies practicing their zumba in front of the temple gate while all the commotions were happening.

The police were very right not to use force  against them that day.

No way they could really hurt anyone, let alone kill a fireman.

Okay, maybe I'm a bit bias because my mother's side of the family are mostly Taoist Chinese but they are indeed quite a peaceful bunch.

Not sure why they were acting crazy that day, but rightfully they should just peacefully lie down in front of the backhoe machine to stop it, just like the protesters in Tiananmen Square lie down in front of the tanks in 1989.

Don't worry. We are not being ruled by the CCP who made the tanks rolled over and killed the protesters.

Still, the law is the law. Please don't resort to rioting, okay....especially if you are Taoist Chinese.

Next time the others riot, hopefully the police will act tough once again and beat the crap out of them....especially if they try to kill another fireman.

One more thing, talking about the CCP, there's this story yesterday;

Chinese air force conducts largest ever incursion into Taiwan

They actually did that to mark the 72nd anniversary of them founding the communist state of PRC.

Yup, they celebrated the occasion by threatening to invade Taiwan by bombing Taiwanese, who are mostly Chinese.

Terrible communists.

Seriously, communists are not Chinese. Their ideology is not even a Chinese ideology. So, if you are against the communists in Beijing, it does not mean you are anti-China or anti-Chinese.

Oh, and here is what DAP thinks about the CCP which threaten to bomb Taiwanese into submission;

Penang CM praises Beijing on PRC’s 72nd anniversary

Hey DAP, why la you praise those communists at a time like this?

You all don't care ka for those Chinese in Taiwan?

Sigh.
